The Garfield comics are my favourite! (Although Dilbert is up there...)
SoCalian Jan 19, 2004, 04:49 AM Garfield Sucks (http://maddox.xmission.com/c.cgi?u=garfield_sucks).
SoCalian Jan 19, 2004, 04:51 AM Those are crap. If you want a funny cat, read some Get Fuzzy.
Matrix Jan 19, 2004, 05:12 AM Hey, Garfield is the (second) funniest comic I know, SoCalian. And I've read a lot comics. So too bad for you that you don't like him, but don't run it into the ground. http://smile.smilies.nl/417.gif
Pirate Jan 19, 2004, 08:16 AM Garfield is horrible. Garfield USED to be funny when Jim Davis actually had them move around and made characters outside of the house. Now he's just burned out and lazy. Most "Garfield" strips are the exact same frame only with different text (look at your first comic up there). Most of the character is gone - what happened to Nermal and Arlene? When's the last time Garfield ate lasangna or kicked Odie off the table? Now they just complain about having no life day in and day out. It is boring!
allhailIndia Jan 19, 2004, 08:46 AM I used to love Garfield and still do...it's just that Jim Davis seems to have hit a cartoonists block. I'm getting quite tired of the "Huh...I'm bored routine".:(
CivCube Jan 19, 2004, 10:01 AM Jim Davis doesn't need to worry about any cartoonist's block; he handed the strip over to a staff years ago. The only thing he contributes to it now is his signature.
And don't talk to me about the movie (http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/garfield/). :ack:
Amenhotep7 Jan 19, 2004, 11:37 AM Garfield used to be wonderful, but now it's gotten old and bland. There are the rare ones that make me laugh out loud like the third one in the 1st post. This is why Dilbert is king, he hasn't and probably will never get old.:king:
Gengis Khan Jan 19, 2004, 12:31 PM I couldn't agree more. Garfield used to be hilarious, but now it's painfully boring & repetitive.
Can't hold a candle to Far Side, or Calvin & Hobbes. Now that's 2 comics that have been around for YEARS, and are still funny(granted they're not being made anymore:()
Even Get Fuzzy & Boondocks are way funnier then Garfield, I'd rather stab my eyes out with a rusty hypodermic needle I found laying in the gutter then read a Garfield book published after 94'.
CivCube Jan 19, 2004, 07:06 PM Actually, even Dilbert is losing the touch, isn't it. :(
Goober Jan 20, 2004, 12:29 AM I don't mind Garfield, or Dilbert. Can't be Foxtrot, however. "iFruity" hehe, absolutely hilarious . . .
Lumin Jan 20, 2004, 01:58 PM Ya know what is even funnier . . .

Hey, Lumin.
I am sure that that was intentional, but your "LINK" just leads back to the CFC Humor & Jokes page . . .
Ankka Jan 21, 2004, 08:09 AM The best comic is Calvin and Hobbes, BTW. :D They're awesome!

What kind of logic did you use in this response?
Xi 12 Jan 28, 2004, 05:26 PM Strider, did they move the JTHM website? I tried going to www.jthm.com but got a Christian site.

No idea, I just buy the comic strips from a store.
stratego Jan 29, 2004, 01:53 AM COMMUNISTIC comics are funny and do not sell crappy toys and paper cups.
And if they do sell, the manufacturer gets his profit taken away then redistributed. Good to be a consumer, because the money always comes right back.

Brewster Jan 30, 2004, 07:26 AM Old Garfield was really good. It seems that Jim Davis lost that spark that made his fat cat so funny in the first place.
My top five cartoons:
5) Garfield
4) Herman
3) Dilbert
2) Calvin and Hobbes
1) Far Side
CIVPhilzilla Jan 30, 2004, 10:25 AM Garfield is hilarious.
MattII Feb 02, 2004, 04:29 AM Yes, well, after 30 some books there is bound to be a loss of originality.
