This is the official poll to determine our leader name. Elucidus wants this information by midnite Tuesday GMT, so I am having this poll run thru Monday night.

The choices are:

Imperator Thunderfall
Imperator Cal

OK, try to follow me on this one as I know it reeks of self-interest. ;)

I voted for Imperator Cal not only because it is a name I often use in my own games, but also because it is informal and fun. Besides, I just happen to think that Im-per-a-tor Thun-der-fall is way too many syllables. ;)

Since I think that we should honor Thunderfall somehow in our endeavors, I would then make a decree that our first city be named Thunderfall.

If you agree, please vote for Imperator Cal. :D

Why do you want Cal? Where does that come from?

There was a strong consensus for the adjective "Imperator" in the discussion, and there really weren't many other options suggested.

You can choose Abstain if you are not happy with either of these. :)

There's nothing wrong with Imperator Thunderfall (and a lot good), but Imperator Cal means nothing to me. :p Except good memories. ;)

I never said there was, except that it doesn't sound as concise as the other option. ;) And I certainly don't want to catch any flak at Staff for lobbying against it. :D

Both are bad. Thunderfall is too long and Cal is "wtf?"

I will Abstain and suggest our name be The Mighty (title) One (name). 'One' is a pun since it sounds like won (which will be our outcome) unless you are me and pronounce won like the Spanish name "Juan"

Imperator is good but its very militaristic. I take it we're not planning on playing a peaceful game then? ;)

Even if we try to be peaceful, the game will be war torn.

I don't know what "Cal" is supposed to mean, and "Thunderfall" is too long, plus the fact that I don't like "Imperator" i'm abstaining...

Maybe we should have a new vote for this with some other alternatives? Over 1/3 of those who has voted so far has abstained...

For the record, Imperator Cal would most likely be the name of our first President if he hadn't lost his password. :lol: Look it up...it's still here. Guess I am glad I lost it... :(

In any case, I'm strongly in favour of the name "Thunderfall". What the title should be is of lesser concern for me.

And I still think that Thunderfall is a city worth defending to the death. All a matter of perspective, I guess. ;)

I am staying out of it from here on out. You guys come up with some names and I will poll them in a one day poll.

But make it fast, or we will have to follow the leadership of "the mighty Abstain." :lol:

Thunderfall sounds like a good leader title for me. I don't see why people say it is to long.

"Administrator Thunderfall" would be one suggestion, though Imperator sounds ok. And sorry DZ, but "Cal" is realy out of the question! :p

We also have "Emperor" as a title. I can't come up with a lot of other titles, don't know what the Mayans called their leaders. Could "Emperor" work as a leadername if we had "The Mighty" as the title? How about "God of Thunder" as a leadername? Maybe "Enlightened", "Allmighty" or "Holy" as a title? Since we will probably be the Mayans, and they viewed their emperor as a god...

I don't see any need to spruce it up any more than that. The name alone suggests the power of an Emperor or Imperator, so lets dispense with the flowery titles.

How's that for compromise? Oh, and our first city will now be named Cal. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I refuse to let anything be named Cal that's so #1. Maybe later cities could be named after us.

Thunderfall as a standalone could work. Fanatazuma would be pretty funny as a leader name.

Yeah. I really hate the Cal thing. I still think TF should be used.

I think DZ's last suggestion is good, why do we need a title? We can just use the name... it's powerful sounding enough to me at least.

Ok, so it seems the name "Thunderfall" is settled. All we have to do is make a poll about the title. Choices so far (mentioned by more than one person): "The mighty", "Administrator", "Imperator", "Emperor" and none.

Thunderfall should be the title actually :p

Let's just do a vocal poll, as I want to submit the whole package tomorrow afternoon.

So far we have 3(Wizard, Hygro and myself) in favor of just "Thunderfall"

Well, if nobody wants Fanatazuma (would fit our site name and mayan theme), Thunderfall is fine.

And "Thunderfall" is simply Thunderfall's name (or callsign), so wouldn't it make sense to make that the name of Fanatica's leader as well. :rolleyes:

I think it still sounds a bit wrong with two "Fanatic" in the title-name-of-civ...

I like the idea of having something a little different rather than Titles that have been used thousands of times before.

I like Visionary, but having none is okay...

I still like Emperor, it sound so.......Imperial.
