I would like to encourage everyone who has not got much experience of holding public office to stand for election this term. If you want to be nominated for a particular office pm me and I will support you. The last DG saw a great influx of new players to high office. Lets us continue this movement in the new Demogame. New office holders bring a fresh approach to the game and reinvigorate it. Even if you have only given standing for election just passing thought come forward and serve your country.

VOTE NEW PEOPLE

I second Peri's call to get some new blood in our government, and, as always, will vote for newer players when given the oppurtunity.

I greatly respect this call that obviously is aimed towards me as well :-)

Though I cannot accept a nomination right now (I hate exams) I promise to be more active in the future.

I'd consider something after i get all these damn coursework finished.

[I'm not really new, had a few hundred posts before, but had to re-register. Been a governor or something towards the end of the 1st demo game.]

Ybbor - we're playing on Vanilla Civ 3 v1.29f - so you don't need Conquests, just the basic Civ!

Why don't you download the save, copy it to a floppy disk, and move the file to the other computer?

Not to download the save - it's just a file that you can save where ever you want - including floppy/Zip/CD etc. Then just copy it into your Saves directory on your Civ PC!

Hello. I'd like to run for anything in office. I'm new to Civ 3 democracy and I am a little overwhelmed right now. I'd really just like to get involved and try to help beat them lously Als. I've been playing Civ 3 since it came out, so I'm not really inexperienced. Is there any way I can snag myself some sort of position in office?

As CG is planning an absence next week, you'll get at least one chance to fill in for him if you accept that position.

Threads a bit old, but I'll toss myself into the pool.

Id like to run for some low responsibility office initially, to get the complete feel for how most things are run. Any direction/advise/comments are welcome.

Had we had the old culture office back, and trade/science split, science and trade would be good low-responsibility offices. For now, ask to be a deputy for an office.
