aaglo Jan 25, 2004, 02:07 PM Hi!
This is a fictional native american ship - you can use it as a galley or caravel replacement. Enjoy! :)
Thanks to all participating in the desing of this thingy ;)
Download it from here! (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/NativeShip.zip)

gunnerxtr Jan 25, 2004, 02:09 PM Wow! looks great aaglo, good work!
Amenhotep7 Jan 25, 2004, 02:15 PM Excellent!:goodjob:
TheMorpheus Jan 25, 2004, 02:20 PM Wow :eek:, looks wonderful :goodjob:
utahjazz7 Jan 25, 2004, 03:02 PM Another example of why you're the best.
zulu9812 Jan 25, 2004, 03:08 PM Great job! Any chance of a size increase of 30%, as well as another version that fires arrows instead of cannon (same size)?
Cimbri Jan 25, 2004, 03:18 PM Very nice work as always, Aaglo. :goodjob:
Hope you wont mind me using this as a Kikkula or a Tahukappi for the Hittites. :yeah:
Amesjustin Jan 25, 2004, 03:19 PM In the INI file, the Attack1 is cannon, Attack2 is Arrows. Just make both attacks one or the other.
I plan on doing just that, splitting this baby into 2 boats - the arrow-based upgrading to the Cannon-based with Metallurgy.
BTW - GREAT unit as always, Aaglo!:goodjob:
Dom Pedro II Jan 25, 2004, 03:29 PM :thanx: :thumbsup: [dance]
Woohoo! I looooove it!

:lol:
I understood the size increase of 30 :), but I didn't get the arrows_instead_of_cannon... there are both attacks included. But the arrows are fire-arrows (if you were talking about wanting to it to have regular arrows)... :confused:
BTW, may I ask why do you want a bigger version of this? Personal ambitions? ;)
Dom Pedro II Jan 25, 2004, 03:38 PM A bigger version would be great! You could have a fire-arrow version at the current size and then a larger cannon version!
Risbinroch Jan 25, 2004, 04:21 PM Brilliant work! And so great with two different attacks! Two ships that is.
... are you planning to do the other version you had modelled to? If so it'll be three ships (if you do two attacks there too, it will be four...)
But I nearly can't believe the beauty of your units!
Vuldacon Jan 25, 2004, 04:49 PM :eek: Detailed, Esthetic, Perfected and Bonus Attack Variety...Professionally Done aaglo....
:goodjob:
Prussian Jan 25, 2004, 06:53 PM Very nice, thanks for your hard work. And thanks for the variety, the multiple attacks. It's great that you provide a little bit of flexibility for us graphically challenged individuals.
Gogf Jan 25, 2004, 07:04 PM NICE! It's awesome. What's next, the reed boat?
NateDawgNY Jan 25, 2004, 08:52 PM The quality of units that are made here never cease to amaze me.
Aaglo-
Awesome work! The ship looks fabulous!
Mobilize Jan 26, 2004, 12:01 AM Fantastic unit, finally there is a ship for us Reds. Thanks mucho! :)
A larger version would be fantastic, a Frigate replacement perhaps? Galleass version would be nice too.. but I don't want to pressure you. ;)
R8XFT Jan 26, 2004, 12:53 AM Another beauty!!! :thumbsup:
Thanks a lot! :goodjob:
Drift Jan 26, 2004, 01:59 AM It's a real beauty, although the Galleass is still my personal favorite out of your creations.
Now, what do you think of ghost ships? :mischief:
Der PH Jan 26, 2004, 02:12 AM Great work! :goodjob:
As usual.
Arne Jan 26, 2004, 03:38 AM Looks cool. :cool: Really nice replacement for caravel.

tjedge1 Jan 26, 2004, 06:15 AM Here we go again. :rotfl: Another boat for my mod!
Lusikka755 Jan 26, 2004, 09:19 AM Really nice one!:goodjob:
Does anyone have any name suggestions? "Native-American sailing ship" is a bit lame name;)
Risbinroch Jan 26, 2004, 10:12 AM I don't know... But what about a native-american word for "shark, dolphin, wavebreaker, seamonster, seagull etc..."
I was just thinking of using a name like "Iroquois... etc" But another name would be good...
Risbinroch Jan 26, 2004, 11:52 AM Found a site that translates english into Ojibwe and Odawa (Don't know if they belonged to Iroquois or not, I'm no expert on native ameircans...):
http://mokennon.albion.edu/odawatest.html-ssi
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will use it for myself anyways:
Seagull = gayaashk
Boat = jiimaan
Feather = miigwan
Water = nibi
etc etc, I don't know what I will use though. The translator couldne't translate words like Ship, Sea. Because I thought I could use Sea Ship...
achs2007 Jan 26, 2004, 12:16 PM good job
Wladislaw Jan 26, 2004, 02:06 PM Your boats are amazing. Great Work!!!!
Keep 'em coming:)
MattII Jan 27, 2004, 02:21 AM Maybe use the arrow one for a Meso galley, and the cannon one for a Meso caravel.

Thanks for the link. "Gchi- Jiimaan" is what I named it, it means "big boat". Don't know how to pronounce it, though. :D
A Viking Yeti Jan 27, 2004, 09:37 AM Very nice :goodjob:. Unfortunatly, some of the names people are suggesting are very hard to pronounce, :lol:. 'Gchi,' hmm... I have honestly never seen a 'ch' follow a 'G' very confusing. Regardless, great unit.
BTW: You could always just name it Odawa Jiimaan, seems like it fit the purpose.
Gogf Jan 27, 2004, 10:16 AM Deleted.
Mobilize Jan 29, 2004, 11:26 PM Well I know you're looking for a name so here is some Cherokee for ya.
big = equa
ship = tsiyu
sail = a'isv
war = danuwa
ocean = amequohi
arrow = gatlida or guni
oar = gagawasti
feather = ugidali
In Cherokee "v" is the Romanicized/Anglicized letter for the nasalized "u" sound. Think of it as a "u" with a tilde which is used on such letters like "ñ" and "ã".
ironmikie Jan 30, 2004, 10:22 PM great stuff!!!
horsematrix Feb 08, 2004, 01:32 PM I'm native american therefore i'm always looking for more native american units thanks a lot:D
Sword_Of_Geddon Mar 04, 2004, 11:32 AM Good job! Now finally the Native Americans get a boat thats more advanced than a canoe!
You should really think about doing a Mesoamerican boat next.
