Welcome to the "Gateway to the Desert"! Weary jungle travelers, and travelers from the east, visit the many wonders brought in from the deserts to the north! The actual "Gateway" is located to the hill in the north. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today during the turnchat.

This thread is still under construction. Our first even is also being planned -- a camel race across the desert.

The first thing I think that would be best for this city is a granary. It's already pumping out 5 food per turn. Build a granary, and our city can become the bread basket of the nation!

The governor is a little cranky right now... Because of our "wonderful" new laws, DR couldn't even be micromanaged to stop rioting! Either:

1 - The lux slider would have needed to be raised mid-turnchat
2 - A citizen removed (affecting the build queue order)

If we don't want our cities to riot because some haven't taken into effect happiness, then I guess we'll just have to constantly take it to the forums. This just delays the game so we wind up voting on every micromanagement decision.

A thread is being made now.

First, it's time to design a flag. I have several flags up for review:

Again, I'll have to correct you Mayor CT. The problem wasn't are laws as you keep saying, but inattentiveness. I know you are not happy with our new laws that bring the power of the Nation back to the forums, instead of keeping in the hands of a half dozen chat-goers, but if you're going to harp on the Laws, please get your facts straight. ;)

Then show me where I can find "Legalese for Dummies: Volume 4". :p

I also believe we need a Granary here. I posted some info in the build queue thread in the citizens forum to illustrate the benefits - this post (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=1540537#post1540537).

As for the flags - you've got to have camels!

Right, I agree with the granary, and I've been saying that since day one. ;) However, we also have to get to that iron ASAP, so it's in a bit of a fix... unless another city can build a settler.

As a Citizen of DR, I say let's stick to building Settlers and leave the Granary until later.

I am against the granary as well. Unless you have a decent way of dealing with the unhappiness that comes with growth, stick to settlers.

We definitely need the iron - so we build another Settler/escort pair first. This will also allow our current cities to grow a bit more so they can produce the escorts for our Settlers.

We'll need 2 military police to allow us to get to size 4 without unhappiness, so we'll also have to build another unit for that. If we haven't hooked up the dyes by the time the population gets to 5 we will need to arrange for some slider to prevent unhappiness.

So now you want to add the time/cost of another military unit onto the Granary, just so we can build the Granary? Plus reduce the Science Rate?

If another city can build it - great - it won't be needed 'till size 4 anyway.

Building the granary should get absolute priority. Building a spear is a great waste. DR could be the ultimate settler pump if managed properly.

Tao: with no luxuries online and "legal difficulties" in handling sliders or hiring entertainers I think a granary is the last thing we need.

Normal game: Yes absolutely.
Demogame: Rather not.

Isn't it the task of "the government" to communicate the actions necessary for the benefit of the civilization to the people?

With military police of 2 (warriors), 10% lux are sufficient up to size 6 and we don't want to grow pop higher. (The turn we would grow to 7, we should build a settler and go back to 5).

I would cycle thru 0% - 10% luxury for optimum play, but if this is not possible set it to 10% permanently. The rapid growth instigated by a settler factory will much more than make up the 10% "loss".

I vote camel flag!!! If its not too much trouble, could we get a screen shot of our lovely city? Be nice to know where to put the house ;p

What has happened recently? What are we building/have already built? I hope that everyone still cares about our lovely hometown!

Greetings Mayor Chieftess. Just dropping by with a complimentary case of Fanatican wine. One Mayor to another, I hope things work well for you here.

It's still a quiet, little settler factory, but I fear there may be drumbeats of war soon. Maybe it's just the fact that due south is Babylon...

I will put up a screenshot later tonight.
