There are some free emails that can be used. Especially some French emails, and still the admins think it's a paid email ;) That's what I use.

Lord Paul, to get a vehicle or any ship I guess you have to join a faction and ask your boss for one. I'm freelance and can't find a way to make money either. Plus their getting started link doesn't work, nor the FAQ. And since I don't know which building is a bank, or a work company... :s

Sabbacc is a popular card game in the Star Wars Universe. I think it's similar to poker.

edit: Checked on gamefaqs, and they seem rather different from what I read. Pazaaks more like blackjack, sabbacc's more like poker.

If you want some money, look at getting a job via the classifieds - its probably about the only way to earn any money at the start. With my job at Blue Sabre Transportation, I'm getting paid 30k credits per month. From what I can tell, it'll go to 50k after I finish my trial peroid or something. They also assign me a ship once I get to their headquarters. :D

When I moved a bit, I just clicked on the location I wanted to go to, clicked go, and away I went.

I tried that but got nothing but error messages. I'll have to try again. If I try to click the map or type in the coordinates and press go I get error messages. :confused:

edit:::: never mind. I tried logging in on another computer and this time my walking move command worked! WTF :mad: I wasted a good hour getting nothing accomplished. Oh well now it seems to be working. I had to get that off my chest so sorry for the rant. :o

It is a known bug. A lot of people complained and reported that bug. Including me.

Yes, after logging back into the site I noticed the bug report section. They are aware of the problem. It said that it has been resolved but I still see it happen although not that frequently.

Wow you're lucky that he gave you an opportunity to ride in his ship. I'd be happy to hitch a ride on a landspeeder to take me to Mos Eisley. Anchorhead has nothing in it. There is a small power station that as far as I can tell employs three people. But other than that I can't tell what the other buildings are. Plus it takes forever to walk around.

So far though I think I will be intrigued by this game for while. ;)

Well I did invest 1 point in speed and can walk at 8kph. Trust me though it is still too slow. Someday I'll be able to buy a set of "wheels". ;)

I joined the Intergalactic Research faction, but I'm still wandering around Corusani. Hopefully I can find somewhere to get a job. I really need a veichle. I chose the Corusani Officer template so I only have one speed. 4/km an hour!?!? :mad:

Not much at Mos Eisley either. Theres a Landing Pad and a cantina, but I haven't seen many other people. Except for those who have signed up for the same faction as me. Hopefully my pickup will be here soon.

The employment agency is at the bottom of the menu. The Classifieds. Some jobs advertised there. Its where I found mine. :)

Not much in Mos Eisley either eh? Oh well, I've started the long walk anyway. It will take my 3 hours 45 mins to get to the map edge in Anchorhead.

From there I will begin my walk across the desert wastes. Has anyone here walked from one city to another? Is it even possible? I'd like to know so I don't waste time walking. This is tortuous. :(

I've only ever moved 3 squares for no particular reason, then I joined BST and just stayed in one spot waiting for pickup. So I don't really know, I'd assume it is, but it'd take forever.

Yes it should be instantaneous. That's what I thought at first but then I read that you cannot use any names that are used in the SW movies or books. I tried to use Moff Jerjerrod and never got an email response back. Then I reapplied using another name and I got an email back within 7 minutes.

Make sure you are not using a real Star Wars name and you should be all set.

Now, the application process is not computerized. It's a human person who does the work. So it may take 5mins as well as several hours, depending whether the admins are online or not. So if you've got a strange timezone, maybe you should be patient :)
But anyway, normally, they must always send you an answer. Negative or positive but you must get something. Emaill declining => gives you the reason (require a last name, or free email not allowed etc.)
Email accepting => handle/pass.

And no you cannot walk from one city to another. you need a ship for this.

Thrawn, I read the jobs offers and I hesitated between BST, and Wraith mercenaries, or even Mandalore and Falleen... Still thinking. I wish there was more opportunities to help new starters who wish to stay freelancers. Obviously you have no choice but to get into a faction to start things out. :(

Tell me that can't be........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just started walking from Anchorhead to Mos Eisley.

However I did notice that when I clicked on go in the travel screen for a brief second I saw total time to be 50hrs. But by the time the screen fully refreshed I noticed that it would take 1 hour.

One hour later the screen said that it would take 23 hours 59 minutes. I have now 9 more hours to go. When I wake up tomorrow to see how much time left I have a feeling it will tell me 24 more hours to go.

Maybe the current software cannot display trip times > 24 hrs.

That could be a possiblity.

You won't find me when you get to Mos Eisley, my ride has just arrived and I expect I'll be leaving sometime soon. :)

I've completed my long long long walking journey to a desert "square" adjacent to Anchorhead. It took me roughly 24 hours to do this. Mos Eisley is adjacent to the square I'm in now and I'm walking toward's the city.

Your faction should bring it to you, or take you to it. I think things like a in game market aren't there yet. Theres a trading lounge on the rpg boards, but apart from that, I haven't seen anything.

Well my extremely long walk from Anchorhead to Mos Eisley is complete. I am now in Mos Eisley after having walked over 2 days.

It's great that they've added tool tips when you hover over a building.

I think its going to take me longer than that to get to my factions hq. The guy who came and picked me up took around 5 days to get here. :crazyeye:

I'm still in Mos Eisley but I'm in the process of negotiating for a job with Paradox Resources. Things sure do move slowly here but I'm sticking with the game to see what happens.

A tip: I tried to join the Wraiths, I even went on their IRC channels. Venix, the leader, looked quite nice but they're a bit slow, so I applied for the Storm Security faction, which seems quicker to reply :)
Plus, with SS, you get 100k credit award for joining and a nice salary.

I think we're off to pick someone else up here. There's 4 others not including myself and the pilot, who's just said we're off to pick someone else up, then off to BST HQ!

Things do move slowly, but I think most of the action takes place on the boards, seeing as how combat isn't there yet.

Well if you're thinking of joining a crime syndicate I'd stay away from the Black Sun. They seem to have a major problem with the Empire and I'm sure they couldn't win if it came to all out war.

I've finished my assignment over a week ago and so far no one from my faction is telling me what to do next! I'm stuck on a ship I'm not sure what to do with now that I've delivered it to them. If you want to use your own ship, you have to transfer it to BST, I've done this with my YT-1300, you get it back if you leave. Otherwise you get a ship assigned.

Join NovaTech, we've got a Security, Production, Outrider Trading and are involved in Beta-testing the mining through NT Mining. That's 4 groups for the price of 1. Not to mention the $250,000 bonus, sizable monthly salary, and a Cap ship assignment from the jump.

Started off doing some rookie grunt work, craft pickups & the like. After a while I was promoted & my bossman gifted me the 666 I was flying, a squad of Nooks for trading, and a speeder for when I have to land. I've sold off half the Nooks & have my sight set on an A-Wing, but it's going to be tough getting the Rebels to part with one. I'm on my way to get force tested right now.

How are things on your side guys?

I've signed up and created a character (Jerekh Carnelian) but I just don't 'get it' - do I have to e-mail someone to get a job or what? I don't really do ORPGs at all (though I love your normal PC RPGs) - what's the deal here? I haven't the faintest idea what I'm expected to do. Can anyone tell me something to zap up my enthusiasm because I can see it's a big thing - I'm just somewhat nonplussed.

I just joined as a medical/repair character. He is an Alderaanian named Erik Antilles. I joined up with the Liberty Medical Center faction. They seem to be pretty nice folks. We'll see how it works out. I just hope they come get me off of Alderaan before you-know-what stops in for a visit.

P.S. Has anyone figured out how to change their character portrait yet? My guy still looks like that Alderaanian senator from episode II.

Just be the most active non commanding officer in your fleet when it needs a new XO or when Uther is looking for a new director of something, apply for it.

Or you can just be promoted by your CO, I haven't been allowed to promote anyone for a while, though. Uther just upped all the Middies to Ensign, though.

Plexus: The stigma is mostly that if someone is annoying n00b, they're most likely in myorzo or riveria. Myorzo especially seems to be full of them.
