I just bought the game & installed it. The problem i am having is that it first runs the intro without a problem, but then when it's loading the sound, it crashes & returns to my desktop screen! I know there are a few members here who play the game, so i was wondering what i should do? I know there are a few patches available, but which ones should i download...please help me :(

I downloaded patch 1.07 & installed it

the intro works fine, but when it's initializing the sound, it returns to windows. The screen is completely blank, the windows bar at the bottum now shows 2 folders: Europa Universalis II & BinkVideoPlayer.

*The binkvideo player shows the message "dedicated to all EU fans" EUII crew
*when i close this & open the EUII folder, i get the intro again?

You may want to open up the EU2 folder and rename the AVI folder to something else before starting the game. The bink video player causes problems on many machines.

It may be a good idea to post more questions at the EUII forum, they still provide active support.
