View Full Version : 10000 Gold Trainer
Thunderfall Nov 03, 2001, 06:08 PM A Civ3 trainer created by "CyberMan" appeared on the web the same day Civ3 was released. The trainer gives the player 10000 Gold at start.
I don't recommend using this trainer because it's a bad way to learn the game and spoils the fun. It's much more satisfying by winning the game without cheating. If you need any help playing the game, you can ask for advice in our Strategy forum.

Also needed the 'Sid Meier`s Civilization 3' game and the trainer itself of course...
In-memory trainer note
----------------------
This trainer uses in-memory patching cheme to do it's work, so sometimes it's can't work because the version of game is different. The most common reason for that is a different release of the game (ex. US, UK, German, Russian or whatever) or the patch/fix installed. Now i'll try to supply some information
about release and version of game for your better orientation into a huge number of trainers. If you have game release different then described by me - please contact me via e-mail and if i still not have this release, i can request some files from game to create adapted trainer for your version. DO NOT SEND FILES
IMMIDEATLY! JUST ASK ME FOR IT! Anyway i'll say 'sorry' for all people that fail they enjoy of game playing for the reason of trainer failure... Sorry!

qslack Nov 04, 2001, 02:13 AM Hey, this doesn't seem to work for me. It freezes Civ. Does it work for anyone else?
A&A Gamer Nov 04, 2001, 10:50 PM Yes, the program works fine without a hitch. Just activate the program first then go into Civ 3, then use Alt Tab and activate the program then click on the line that says type Gray /. You know it works if there is a refreshing of that portion of the screen. After that, click on the game map a couple of times and it will show you your added money.
Snake5000 Nov 17, 2001, 03:37 PM I've been trying to get the trainer to work for a while now, but everything i have tried has been to no avail. I loaded the trainer before i opened civ III, but it didn't work, i was unable to hit the Run button to try and do the cheat. I then tried it by opening civ III first and then opening the trainer, and it didn't work then either. Can anyone help me figure out what i need to do to get it to work?
brownman Nov 26, 2001, 06:31 PM This worked fine for me. I just opened the trainer (make sure the dot it green on the left side), then I opened the game. Then hit Alt+Tab and choose the trainer with the Game in the background. You can hit it a bunch of times. Also try the recheck button if it doesn't work the first time. Enjoy!:goodjob:

Update: For Civ3 v1.16f:
ArnMeister Dec 10, 2001, 05:05 PM I like this trainer because it lets me work areas to learn game play. It doesn't seem to work with new patch. Any updates planned?
Baron Rakkan Dec 12, 2001, 03:57 AM Hi. I have the same question as the one posted before me. Will there be a trainer for the new Civ3 V 1.16. or not? I need the trainer :) .
Thank you and bye

warp_kez Jan 09, 2002, 09:52 PM Is that the current URL for that app? Maybe there is a problem with our international link, but I keep getting domain errors.
MartinW Jan 11, 2002, 10:11 PM This is a VERY underrated trainer.
The new version works (finally) with 1.16f.
It gives you all the money you want and lets you burn through technological advances at one per turn.
It also turns on the "hurry production" feature immediately -- it still costs money but you've got as much as you want. (Just push the front slash on the numbers pad at 10,000 a punch.)
The author's lack of command of the English Language may be putting some people off. (What does he mean by the "gray keys"?) But this is still a great trainer.
Dirac Jan 27, 2002, 07:47 PM I suppose Thunderfall's initial assessment of this trainer is correct: it's no more than an opportunistic ploy to make the chips fall on your side of the fence - it's a damned cheat! But it's so well-designed! (good job, Cyberman!). I agree with MartinW, that it's very underrated. And I think this is mainly due to Thunderfall casting a dim light on its prospects from the start. I develop software for a living. And in my opinion, most of the other utilities heralded here are worthless pieces of crap! Most of 'em have crashed on me, or produced unpredicted results. This one is solid! From a philosophical point of view, is it really such a heinous crime to bolster your bucks a bit, or complete a few wonders prematurely, when whiling away a few hours on a Sunday afternoon?
Shame on you for being such a spoilsport, Thunderfall!

hehe... As you can see, about 1800 people have downloaded the trainer. My opinion doesn't seem to matter. ;)
Colony_Bug Mar 02, 2002, 05:54 AM This new version supports v1.17f
guest Mar 03, 2002, 10:19 AM Thx. :)
I like this trainer very much. :crazyeyes
food4thegods Mar 22, 2002, 12:13 AM I have the most recent version, and it DOES NOT work for me. I've tried all the suggestions in this thread, and it's not happening. Is it just me?
Meop79 Mar 28, 2002, 02:52 PM Ok so it's a good cheet prog... but why? I mean you can use the standard editor to turn the scout into a leader and make him only available to your civ and give him rocking attack and defense and win just as easilly lol... and it doesn't matter either way because you are still cheeting....

Can you post when cyberman have a new version of his trainer for the 1.21f?
I like this trainer very much.
MartinW Apr 20, 2002, 12:32 PM The trainer works with 1.21f but only the money feature.
You MUST leave the window open while you hit the number pad's backslash. I gave myself a million dollars and then shut the trainer down.
Also, be sure to check out the new editor. It has some great new features. For example, you can give a unit up to 20 extra hit points.
guest Apr 23, 2002, 01:22 PM A new Version is online. It support the 3 features in the 1.21f-version of Civ3.
The file can be downloaded from http://cyberman.agava.ru.
MartinW Apr 25, 2002, 09:00 AM Still one of the best Civ3 trainers.
Yeah, it only does 3 things, but those three give you a lot of extra power and flexibility.
Here's the link:

€ønqui$tadør May 01, 2002, 07:36 AM the 10000 gold increase and 1-turn research functions work fine, but the hurry production function has never worked for me, both on the new and old version...
MartinW May 01, 2002, 07:55 PM €ønqui$tadør,
You do know that it only lets you hurry production manually with gold?
Also, you should check out the new features in the 1.21f editor. You can do all sorts of fun things including giving any unit you want bonus hit points.
:crazyeye:
tgs81 May 03, 2002, 09:51 PM i just wanted to thank you for this trainer:) im so sick of the ai magically finishing wonders 2 or 3 turns before me everytime. i finally can get a couple wonders:)
sas330 May 19, 2002, 04:51 PM make it so u get more than 10,000 gold. i'd like 9trillion.:nuke:

Minuteman Nov 05, 2002, 04:35 PM Cyberman's trainer is now compatible with PTW (1.04f). Check out his website at the link that MartinW provided above to download it.
Anrky Dec 16, 2002, 08:44 PM it is updated once again to include PTW 1.14 compatibility...
great job Cyberman...
hbdragon88 Dec 31, 2002, 02:53 PM Like to add my two cents:
I have to say it is a great program, but agree with Thunderfall: it is a bad way to learn the game. I use it for fun only, and after 2050. But it's handy for rushing wonders :D
JohnnyCanuck Jan 29, 2003, 09:15 PM The money option works fine for me. Hurrying production and instant research do not. Has anyone else encountered the same thing?

Some Dude May 11, 2003, 08:17 AM Someone's gotta explain this trainer stuff for me. I downloaded it, and it just won't work. Is it compatable w/ v1.29f? Game of the Year edition. I just get red buttons when I double-click it.
hbdragon88 May 11, 2003, 11:24 AM Have you loaded the game? It only works when the game is running and only when you're in a game.
justp360 May 11, 2003, 03:03 PM sorry SOME DUDE if the money cheat isn't compadtable with your verson of civ 3 .
let i remind everyone all these cheats and mods etc , on this site

Sharez Nov 17, 2003, 02:59 AM Cyberman just updated his site... Now has support for conquests..
kenshi Dec 28, 2003, 08:17 PM Will this be updated further for 1.12?
CCJ39 Dec 29, 2003, 03:22 AM if you need a trainer for 1.12b look here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40769) ;)
kenshi Dec 29, 2003, 05:24 AM I kind of miss the "Hurry" option this one had though.
CCJ39 Dec 29, 2003, 05:32 AM does this feature worked to you in the PtW-versions? I think this feature only was working in normal Civ3 and not the addons :/
kenshi Dec 29, 2003, 07:25 AM The "Rush all" function was actually operational all the way up to Conquests 1.02 (the minor European patch.)
jfciv Dec 29, 2003, 04:45 PM any trainers work with civ 3 gold edition yet?
aznfoos Feb 18, 2004, 11:10 AM i played the game long and hard and now when im close to total conquest the madatory retirement year is coming up.
Is there anything for the RETIREMENT YEAR for conquest??
teknalee Mar 11, 2004, 02:39 PM no but you can change it by modifing the rules in the CIVC editior and you can make any changes you want.
CCJ39 Mar 11, 2004, 03:51 PM hm, maybe try my MegaTrainerXL, it allows you to edit the current gameturn, so you can decrease your current year/turn sometime, to get more turns
Sun_Ce Mar 25, 2004, 02:02 PM Installed the latest version that is supposed to be compatible with win XP, i have the latest civ patch 1.15b installed. I installed the MXTL trainer--> i try to use it for all the functions and it tells me i'm missing a file-->mega trainer XL.HLP file??? any ideas as to where i can find this? i tried uninstalling and re-installing this trainer quitea few times, also put this trainer in it's own file within Conquests folder.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank for your time.
CCJ39 Mar 25, 2004, 03:48 PM view my thread for answers on MTXL ;)
Sun_Ce Mar 25, 2004, 08:36 PM Yep been there, i posted to this 1 also seeing as the thread turned into a topic of your trainer. I'll be following your thread for anything pertaining to your trainer.
LordShinyK Nov 18, 2004, 10:10 AM hi all,
sorry to bring this topic back on top, but the trainer for 1.29f from cyberman bug on my version of Civ3 (french) 1.29f.
It's suppose to work on any, but on mine, it creates an error and close the game just after developping the technology "steam" (don't how it's called in the english version, but it's the technology that allows you to build railways).
Maybe this is just a coincidence, but it happens several times. before that, it works fine (gold, reserach, etc ...).
Is it a known bug for this version?
Thanks for any help!
I bought this game a few month ago and really love it!
CCJ39 Nov 24, 2004, 02:28 PM are you sure it's a problem of the trainer?
try the MTXL (http://www.ccj39.com/mtxl.php), maybe this one works better to you
JG99_Korab Nov 30, 2004, 07:09 AM does this work for civ3 complete?
CCJ39 Nov 30, 2004, 07:26 AM does this work for civ3 complete?
