please indulge me another question as i've never played (sinner!!) the civ games before now :D. i still have my diapers on playing in the sand box (tutorial) and i've noticed that my worker and warrior have a little red ball by them. my settler did too until he turned into a town. the warrior's ball (pardon me) is on the end of his hit point meter and the workers is just hanging out there (pardon me again :D). i know these are described in a short sentence in the manual that i, of course, missed. can someone tell me what this ball is? thanks!

i think i found it. is that red ball the move indicator? meaning, if it's red the unit has no more moves left? the manual shows it in the Info Box but i see it on the map too. why is this necessary? doesn't the ADM show if i have any moves left? any insight would be helpful and thanks for putting up with my dumb questions. trying to learn this mother :D

I am fairly certain that the little red ball means that unit is busy. If you watch units that are clearing trees, they have the red ball on them until they finish. It's basically to let you know that the unit is commited to doing something and you have to click on the unit to get them to stop doing whatever it is that it is doing. Hope that helps.

I figured it out from observation. You can test it for yourself. Have a worker cut some trees. As soon as you click clear forest/jungle, a little red ball appears. This should go for roads, irrigation, etc.
