I consider this film plus Spaceballs and Spinal Tap to form a psuedo divine trinity of comedy that everyone should see at least once...
Syterion Feb 09, 2004, 07:46 AM Great quotes form that movie-
"Answer Me these questions three"
"I Fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!"
"Ni! Ni! Ni!"
"Help, Help, I'm being repressed!"
"How do you know he's the king? -He hasn't got **** all over him."
"We have a witch. May We burn her?"
sourboy Feb 09, 2004, 07:52 AM Yeah it's a classic & I can't stand that type of humor. The Gods must be Crazy is another good one - it's about a modern Coke bottle be dropped out of a small plane into a very tribal village & their reactions.
Pirate Feb 09, 2004, 08:12 AM Holy Grail is the best of the Monty Python movies I've seen!
I like how the "intermission" is like 5 minutes before the end of the movie...
TimTheEnchanter Feb 09, 2004, 12:47 PM I think I've heard of that one...
Spacetrvler Feb 09, 2004, 05:33 PM "What do we do to witches?"
"We burn them!!!"
"What else burns?"
...
"More Witches!?!"
Achinz Feb 09, 2004, 07:43 PM I enjoy this with other Monty Python movies eg Life of Brian with the surrealistic song "Look on the Bright side of life" at the cruxifixion finale.

Spaceballs is OK.
But Spinal Tap and Monty Python rank as the two greatest works ever recorded. They must be preserved for future generations.
EDIT: I'd be watching Life of Brian right now if the DVD wasn't messed up...
General Porkins Feb 09, 2004, 11:00 PM spaceballs is OK? maybe you're just not thinking straight.
'its mega-maid sir. shes gone from suck to blow'
'you have the ring, and i see your schwartz is as big as mine. now lets see how well you handle it'
barf? yogurt? the virgin alarm? ludicrous speed? combing the desert? mel brooks is a genius

Lord Draegon Feb 11, 2004, 06:00 PM More good Quotes
"Are you sugessting coconuts migrate?"
"Your king? Well, I didnt vote for you"
"(Song)When danger reared it's ugly head, Sir Robin bravely turned and fled"
cgannon64 Feb 11, 2004, 06:09 PM The conversation between Arthur and the peasent is really good. "Strange women in ponds handing out swords is no basis for a government!"
Hmm...how about Life of Brian quotes...
*Crowd chants* "We are all different!"
*Man yells* "I'm not!"
The entire Latin translation scene (even funnier if you take latin, becuase you can follow the conversation - and your teacher has done it to you).

Dennis: "You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!"
Arthur: "Shut up!"
Dennis: "I mean, if I went around sayin' I was an empereror just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away!"
Arthur: "Shut up! Will you SHUT UP!"
Achinz Feb 13, 2004, 12:32 PM Visiting the Other Games forum has jolted my memory about the computer game spinoff as well:
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail:
The plague scene with the body collector pushing his overflowing cart keeps resounding (with Eric Idle's voice I think):
"Bring out your dead."
Gengis Khan Feb 13, 2004, 01:12 PM Anyone who hasn't seen Holy Grail needs to run out & rent it immediatly. Truly the funniest movie of all time, and the one shining star among the other truely horrific pile of garbage known as Brittish comedy.
The entire movie is one long running joke.
So many underated scenes, too many even to list them all, but a few dozen spring to mind immediatly.
"If you were dying you wouldn't bother to carve AAAAAAA, you'd just die." "Maybe he was dictating."
"One, two, five"
"then in the middle of the night we jump out and.........." "Perhaps if we constructed a large wooden badger."
"European or african swallow"
"wait, can't you rescue me later. I really don't need rescueing!"
"he's got big pointy teath!"
General Porkins Feb 13, 2004, 03:28 PM "wait, can't you rescue me later. I really don't need rescueing!"
along with this one "I bet you're gay Lancelot"
Spacetrvler Feb 13, 2004, 04:53 PM The directors of the film hired to continue the credits after the other people had been sacked, wish it to be known that they have just been sacked.

I am doing the Black Knignt, and Peasant Scenes as a Duo for my State Forensics Qualifier.
