My first city, Seoul, has been founded in 4000 BC.
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/ehrmaru4000bc.jpg

My most productive tile, the tile containing the Game, provides me with two food, two shields and one gold, per turn. I order the production of a Warrior unit, for recon purposes. The worker has been moved to the Game tile.

I will ignore the "basic" techs, which include, Masonry, Pottery, The Wheel, Warrior Code and Ceremonial Burial. I will acquire these techs from other Civs. I chose Writing, and set the slider to 20%, cause' it makes no difference where the slider lays. I would go with Iron Working, but I will propably just acquire it from another Civ, later.

I appreciate, any comments or suggestions. I will take all advice into consideration. So, feel free to tell me anything as the game unfolds. I am looking to improve my game, and what better place to improve then at CivFanatics.

I have ordered the Worker to build a road. The road will take six turns, because it is being built in a forest tile. I will gain and extra one gold per turn, upon completion of the road.

~3800 BC
My first Warrior, has been produced. I have moved him, one tile northwest of Seoul. Immediately, a great mountain comes into view. The river flowing through Seoul, originates from this very mountain. I then order Seoul, to produce another Warrior.

I move my Warrior, one tile northwest from its current location. The move reveals a Cow, nearby. Unfortunately, even after Seouls cultural border expands, I will not be able to make use of the Cow.

Moving my Warrior one tile north of its current location, reveals a Wheat. With the Cow and Wheat, I may be able to build my first ever, Settler Factory. Meaning, my second city will be producing the majority of my Settlers, for fast expansion.

I have one problem. Once Seouls cultural border expands, it will occupy the area marked by blue Xs. When my second city expands, it will also occupy the are marked by blue Xs. Thus, creating a overlap which will reduce the number of workable tiles, in the future, for both cities. What should I do?

Also, I must irrigate the Cow & Wheat tiles, but they are not adjacent to the river. I plan to cut down the forest tile, where my Warrior is currently standing, then irrigate the tile. I will then proceed to irrigate the Wheat, then the tile just south of the Wheat and finally the Cow. I still need to obtain Pottery from a rival Civ. Hopefully, the first Civ I'll meet started with Pottery, then I will be able to build the necessary Granary. What do you guys think of my plan?

That is such a small overlap that it won't affect your cities very much, unless they grow to be size 20 really. The location marked by the blue x is too good to give it up over such a small overlap.

Thank You! I was waiting for a second opinion, before I proceeded with my game. :)

My Worker, has just finished roading the Game tile. I now earn and extra one gold; I can now adjust the science slider, to 10%. I move, the Worker, one tile west of the Game tile. I move my Warrior, one tile northeast, onto the Mountain tile. I can see, a Wheat, a river and a Game. I can safely assume, that the surrounding area around the river is mostly Plains.

A Warrior has been produced, in Seoul. I order the production of a Settler unit. I move my new Warrior, one tile southwest of Seoul. My lone Worker is ordered to road the land, where he stands. The adventuring Warrior, in the north, has moved one tile north onto the Wheat, uncovering another mountain tile to the northwest.

~3550 BC
The adventuring Warrior, to the south, has moved one tile to the southwest. A Gold Hill, is spotted by the Warrior.

I will consider to found a new city, on the newly discovered Gold Hill, in the future.

My first Warrior, has moved one tile northeast, onto a mountain tile. Uncovering, a "goody hut" from the black fog. I will send a Warrior, to "pop it" later.

I write down everything, what I do and what I think. I play as much as you read. Sometimes, I just play one turn or two turns, a day. I just write, in a little notebook, all my quick thoughts and moves. Then I post.

Ehrmaru, a good start.

Game commentaries like yours are too few, and the good ones can be counted on one hand.

I really envy you being able to control yourself and play 2 or 3 turns a day. I like to be able to find a large chunck of time to play. But when I'm busy, I feel guilty to spend this time playing, which ends up with the result of me not playing at all. I've been trying to get a game started this past weekend, but to no avail.

Just a small advice. Since you play a few turns a day, I think collecting 10-20 turns before making a post would be a good idea. That's because for us reading it, we get to follow the narrative arc of your story and get involved more.

I think most readers like it when the story stops at a logical cliffhanger/end point rather than just stopping. But you may be trying to create a diary style story with daily entries. I think that works too.

Whichever format you choose is good :p

I'm sorry I wrote so much. please continue your work. keep it up.

The cultural borders of Seoul, have expanded. The exploring Warrior, to the south, moves one tile southwest. Immediately, I uncover a Fish tile and some Tundra tiles. My exploring Warrior, to the north, moves one tile north uncovering, yet another, Mountain tile. Its interesting to note, that I have discovered four Rivers. No Aqueducts. :)

It's hard for me, too. I can only play one or two turns a day. I have two jobs, so work really takes a lot of my time. I usually am so tired, that a couple turns a day, is enough of a "fix" for me. Don't worry about writing a lot, I always like to read replies and suggestions.
