BTW, how are we going to lock the alliances?
predesad Feb 12, 2004, 08:31 PM Caesarian, im going to refrain from joining this game after much personal debate, however i will be happy to offer my assistance as a neutral party in locking the alliances, choosing civs, using culturally linked starting locations to put locked alliances near each other, or otherwise setting up the game if you want. dogboy & i are in a locked alliance game which was probably hastily put together by me. we found it would have been very helpful if we had had a neutral party to aid in this.
Rocinante Feb 26, 2004, 01:36 AM jmot at sprynet dot com
Americans
can play every day--haven't done locked alliance before but if you'll have me I'd be happy to play
Caesarian Feb 27, 2004, 09:13 PM yes more ppl.........
Caesarian Feb 27, 2004, 09:15 PM predesad .....i would love for u to be the ref.....and make the game and set the alliances ......that would be much appreciated. thx u
predesad Feb 27, 2004, 09:45 PM no problem i'll enjoy helping out, but beware of dogboy, he is getting a lot of experience in locked alliance games, here is my email because sometimes i dont get over here to check the threads
predesad AT yahoo DOT com
btw, i suggest in your first post you alter the email adress appearance otherwise your players are going to get upset when they get invaded by spam robots
jhnolte Feb 28, 2004, 07:01 AM Sign me up if you have room. My email is joehn at juno dot com.
DogBoy Feb 28, 2004, 07:08 AM jhnolte, please post your civ preference, or you will be random. Also post where you live and what time you play so we can put you in the correct order.
Caesarian, please alter your first post so our e-mail addresses don't look the way they do. They should all look like this:
Caesarian (ME) - Ottomans - E-Mail punofthewest AT hotmail DOT com
DogBoy - Random Civ - E-Mail greeneclan AT mchsi DOT com
Rocinante - America - E-Mail jmot AT sprynet DOT com
That will help to prevent us from getting a lot of spam mail.
Krabius Feb 28, 2004, 09:19 AM I would be happy to be in the game! Civ: Maya, E-mail: tudo at hot dot ee
jhnolte Feb 28, 2004, 10:35 AM Random civ is fine. I'm in Indiana, U.S., GMT-5 and would normally play in the evening, but about any time on the weekend.
Note that me email prefix is now joehn and not jhnolte....

Caesarian Feb 29, 2004, 05:16 PM YA 3 more and we have a game ............I would like to discuss if anyone would like to have some COMPUTER players in the game?
DogBoy Feb 29, 2004, 05:20 PM Well, there is a problem with that. There are only 8 players allowed in a multiplayer game. So if there are 8 humans, can't have any AI. If we could just get 1 more human, we could have 2 AI with a locked alliance for us to beat up on. I really can't believe we can't get one more person for this game. They usually fill up quickly.
Caesarian Feb 29, 2004, 05:23 PM ok so one more human then 2 comp?
DogBoy Feb 29, 2004, 05:26 PM Well, that is an option. It might help the game go quicker with only 6 people.
Caesarian Feb 29, 2004, 05:27 PM well we can take a vote when we have one more human player.......
Rocinante Feb 29, 2004, 08:10 PM Five players is pretty good--could go with what we have. The more players the slower the game.
predesad Feb 29, 2004, 08:24 PM it would be unfair to lock alliances with five players, someone would get stuck w/ AI
Rocinante Feb 29, 2004, 08:38 PM Doh!
I'm sure we'll find more players
predesad Mar 01, 2004, 12:48 AM 6 players would move faster, but basically that will mean three teams, the AI doesnt count. pretty much one team is going to get hung out to dry, but then again i just realized that might make it all the more intresting, and perhaps you should consider going with three teams of human players and no AI. If you include AI i reccommend setting the difficulty level very high, at least emporer, to give them a fighting chance.
Caesarian Mar 01, 2004, 03:10 AM this is just a suggestion but how about 3 teams 3v3 human and one comp just 2 of them on a high difficulty level.
jhnolte Mar 01, 2004, 08:09 AM I need to drop out. I apologize for the last minute change. Looking at the games I'm already playing and R/L duties, I don't think I can give your game the attention it requires.
Krabius Mar 01, 2004, 10:25 AM Then we got 2 teams, 2 players each? we can make 2 AI teams also, or wait 2 more people :)
DogBoy Mar 01, 2004, 03:59 PM I say we go now. We have been trying to put this game together for about 2 weeks now. Predesad can set the game up for us with 2 teams of 2 humans, and 2 teams of 2 AI on emperor level. That should make it interesting.
Rocinante Mar 01, 2004, 04:25 PM I'm all for starting with two teams of humans. Dogboy's idea should make for an interesting game and I think 8 is too risky vis-a-vis someone dropping out.
Caesarian Mar 01, 2004, 10:43 PM OK then I am game.....lets get this one stared...
predesad Mar 02, 2004, 12:56 AM okay, game will start in 24 hours, you have until then to make any final changes, here are the players and settings:

i need some information from you guys, if you dont provide it within 24 hours, you'll just have to take what you get unless the host, caesarian, objects.
-check settings and make sure they are okay & nothing left out
-how is turn order to be determined, by time zones, if so i ned everyone except dogboy who is gmt -5, or should allies take turns consecutively. if no word in 24 hours then unless host objects you'll just take what you get
-email or pm your password to me, dogboy please be sure to use the same password for this game as you use for our ultimate2player game :D :D
-how are alliances to be determined, who is matched with who, i am asuming it is in the order joined unless otherwise stated which means caesarian / dogboy ; rocinante / krabius. if timezones given to me, i can put players together whose timezones allow them to take their turns consecutively.
-how are they to be locate on map, i can do whatever, no trouble, but recommend allies be close, it is a huge benefit
-dogboy is random, i cant lock alliances with someone being random, i will start an epic game with the three civs already chosen & one random, whoever pops up is dogboy's civ. with the exception that since it is a pangea map i am removing seafaring civs as possibilities
-i am planning to give you guys some interesting / challenging AI pairs for the other two alliances, although i dont know if the AI will use each other to work together well. i have already made up my mind how to manipulate their starts also, the game will be very much in favor of the AI and will be a challenge, you might find all four of you trying to cooperate to overcome the AI, but it is only emporer level. but then again all my efforts might be in vain and the AI could crash and burn. well, just in case, i'll make sure the AI starts with an ICBM. :D
-are there any map specifics requested, these must be approved by host, for example, i could guarantee everyone a river or grassland, otherwise i am just going to double check to make sure everyone gets an avrage start, except doboy who i am putting in the middle of tundra / mountains / volcano
basically the game will be set up tonight and i will just be waiting for final information (passwords) or changes to start it.
here is my email in case anyone needs it:
predesad AT yahoo DOT com
Rocinante Mar 02, 2004, 01:31 AM Thanks so much for setting up the game. I am GMT-8 (west coast USA) and will email my password soonest. Settings look good except for the ICBM, though.
Each alliance should have roughly equivalent start positions--not to say each player should be equivalent but the two alliances as a whole should have roughly the same opportunities.
predesad Mar 02, 2004, 02:08 AM Each alliance should have roughly equivalent start positions--not to say each player should be equivalent but the two alliances as a whole should have roughly the same opportunities.
thats a good point & ill scan the map to make sure alliances are somewhat balanced regarding nearby resources. for example, im notgoing to guarantee everyone has iron, but i wont let one allinace have 6 nearby luxuroes and the others only 1-2
but again, the AI are going to have a heads up on that as well, i guess i'll take those ICBMs out ... and replace them with modern armor
also, i will name the game NAA PBEM (north american alliances) in case that helps in pickng out passwords, if anyone who has sent their password already wants to change it just resend
Caesarian Mar 02, 2004, 05:19 AM All good here.... but no modern armor for comp at start...... GMT -6 Saskatchewan Canada
- time zones turn order.............yes
- alliances caesarian / dogboy ; rocinante / krabius.........good
- allies be close.... like no other civ in between
dogboy pick a civ... a euorpe one so it can be new world vs old world
Krabius Mar 02, 2004, 06:06 AM Great! I'll pm you with my password.
By the way I am in GMT + 2.
DogBoy Mar 02, 2004, 07:02 AM I want Predesad to pick a civ for me. Pick me a non-searfaring old world civ. Surprise me!
predesad Mar 02, 2004, 03:06 PM Caesarian, your email is bouncing, tried twice to send an email to you including one with game specifics.

Accelerated Production off
No respawn ai
coalition victory type
the last three i selected myself, my reasoning for decisions:
-in an alliance game, accellerated production ruins it, IMHO, i dont like AP anymore anyway, i think it takes away from some game balance and the natural progression of the game
-who plays w/ respawn ai anyway, & besides w/ emporer i think it will be hard to eliminate an ai early anyway
-with the victory gong to a team instead of an individual player it promotes team play, instead of players looking to not only defeat their opponents but best their ally, w/ individual victory there is a good risk an alliance would simply breakdown, there are a lot of other issues to work out and arguments to be had let alone to add this big obstacle to harmony
of course, this is not my game so i am willing to change these pending the hosts decision, anything i have done regarding set up can be altered if the host so desires and i will not be offended in anyway.
i set this game up with the intent of favoring the ai. with two humans working together the ai is at a huge disadvantge so i tried to help it as much as i could. i did ont alter any of the ai's characteristics or give them anything additional to start out other than what is already included with emporer difficulty. i wasa tempted to give them embassies to start, but then they might actually kill you guys off before you got anywhere because they would know the location of your capitol, i was also tempted to give them more gold and an additional worker, but since none of these things were discussed i declined, if i had been a player or the host for htis game i would have started the ai w/ 100 gold and 2 workers in additon to emporer level.
dogboy left it to me to choose his civ, instead of going with random i found another way to make things less of an advantage for the humans. the krabius / rocinante alliance (mayans / americans) have only three combined traits and two combined starting techs, therefore i arranged nearly the same thing for the caesarian / dogboy alliance, caesarian had already chosen the ottomans so i gave dogboy persia which mirrors the ottomans traits / starting techs. notice every player has the industious trait, this made it difficult for me to help the ai, but i managed to give both the ai alliances one industrious civ. i figured the ai could hold its own in the ancient era because of the "head start" it gets with emporer, so i felt they needed something to push them further in the middle ages when the humans had caught up and were pulling ahead, therefore all the ai civs have middle ages uu and each alliance has civs with different traits / starting techs.
the ai teams:
1) India / China (when they get chivalry, lookout)
2) France / Russia
in addiiton, i was inclined to load the ai starts somewhat, but i did not go overboard and i added no bonus resources whatsoever, although i thought about putting 4 cows around every ai start. i used a randomly generated map and then altered it. i alos checked each human alliance, they have pretty much the same opportunities, but those opportunities could slip away (if you turn left instead of turning right someone else might beat you to what you need) i also arranged something about the layout of the alliances so as to further benefit the ai, but i wont comment on that right now, once the game is far along and everything about the map is pretty well known i will be more inclined to comment about some specific changes. each starting spot is in the exact location the computer generated and the surrounding terrain unaltered, with again a couple minor changes to help the ai, but never a change to help / hurt a human team. there is not a single start in this game i would not take for myself, they are all good starts IMHO, and i mean good not average, i may be saying too much here, but also nobody got a really great start. IMHO, the starts and changes have balanced the game for the humans vs each other. i want to repeat, i never made a change to hurt a human player, only changes ot help the ai. i also took the liberty of making some terrain adjustments in territory not around any starting spot, i had reasons for doing this which i will explain fully once the map is well known, etc. there was also one additional big change i made, that i absolutely cannot comment upon until the map is well known at the risk of giving away information that might help a human team. i made this change because of an unusual feature about this map when it was generated, if i had left it alone it would have given one specific team a very big advantage.
i will glady list the types of changes i made to the map if you the players would like me to, but i will do so in a general manner, not specifics so as to give any hints. if you guys feel i might have tampered too much i will gladly restart the game with minimal edits, but then dont blame me with the things you have to fight. whatever is done about restarting will not offend me, of course it would be nice if everyone was pleased, but this does not always happen.
i will be sending each individual player an email confirming the password i gave to him, if there are any password mixups, then the game will have to be restarted with the same passwords everything will remain the same, i will just have to put in the passwords correctly, i dont know if the game is case sensitive about passwords, but at least one player had sent me a password with a capitol letter, hopefully you know who you are, just keep this in mind.
the start of the game in order for me to put in the passwords and actually do the whole scenario required me to alter the turns slightly, i actually took each players first turn, but just hit space bar. to account for this without diminishing the game in any manner i adjusted the amount of turns to 541, the starting date to 4050 BC, and the first 26 (vs 25) turns are 50 years apart. i tired selecting "skips first turn" for the ai, but that option does not work for ai, therefore the took their first turns, however this is not really a concern because i accounted for htis in turn order, which is as follows:
1) dogboy gmt -5 persia
2) caesarian gmt -6 ottoman >
3) rocinante gmt -8 america
4) krabius gmt +2 maya
5) India
6) China
7) Russia
8) France
(dogboy was chosen as first player to give the host's team first turn, the time zones determined each alliance would play consecutively)
when you think about it, since i skipped all the human turns and the ai took their first turn, this simply makes it equivalent to the ai having the first turn, although the score will favor the ai initially, but that should not be a concern, if the game does somehow go 540 turns then the ai will get one extra turn, but since they are ai just consider that another very minor advantage
there are 2 other solutions i can htink of instead of me putting in the passwords and skipping the first turns if you guys decide to go for that because you are uncomfortable with this method.
1) i could send the scenario to caesarian (or dogboy) who would then have to set up the game from the multiplayer screen, which is not too difficult and one of them may know how to do it, then each player would put in his own password his first turn as normal
2) each player could send me exact instructions for thier first turn after taking the turn in the game i am sending now, i would then go back and restart the game, everything would be the same (omit the changes such as 541 turns, 4050 bc) except when each player got his turn it owuld be their second turn and they would need to confirm for htemselves i followed their instructions exactly.
also, one of the players neglected to pm or email a password to me, i am sure he meant to but forgot since he did post on the thread after i asked for it. i assigned that player a password and will email him about it, should that password not be okay for him then i will restart, as i am starting the game before the 24 hour period i initially claimed i would wait anyway.
i will also post some of this information in the thread, i am turning the game over to you guys now and hope you enjoy. if there are any concerns, i am willing to monitor the game or help with something else if need be, but i was not planning to contimually monitor the game, simply set it up. however, as a reward for my work, especially if you think a good job was done, someone could send me a copy of the game save about every 10 turns or so and then i could look to see how its going, i would be able to look at everyones turn since i have the passwords.
i will of course have to refrain from making any comments about the game or its progress until such time as whatever i might comment about is already well known to all the players, and even then any comments i might make are going to be very general in nature as i would not want to interfere or ruin the game.
Caesarian Mar 02, 2004, 03:57 PM punkofthewest AT hotmail DOT com .........ya sorry about that i had fogot the k..........and everything looks great.....thxs a lot and u can have a copy of the saved game when ever u would like one.....
predesad Mar 02, 2004, 04:52 PM you say, everything looks great, but just wait unitl you see hoe the opposition lines up against you. :D
i forgot to add that allies are next to each other with no civs in between them, though in some cases because of the size of hte world it would be possible for a civ to squeeze a city in there between you if you expand the wrong way and the rapidly expand in just the right way, of course if they do that then they would risk someone squeezing cities in between them and their ally
Rocinante Mar 03, 2004, 01:33 AM 4000BC sent to Krabius.
Krabius Mar 03, 2004, 10:10 AM Thank you Rocinante! And thank you predesad for organizing the game!
Next turn sent to DogBoy. I guess we can celebrate the success of first turn :D
DogBoy Mar 03, 2004, 03:55 PM Yeah! We got thru the first turn. So are going to follow most PBEMs and just let the game die now that we are on the second turn? I sure hope not!

predesad Mar 09, 2004, 08:22 AM I just received word from DoyBoy, his cable modem is down, cableman coming to look at it tomorrow. I think he is going to save some turns on a disk at work, play them at home, then can send them the next day from work, but i cannot guarantee that. He can't post here because this site has the word "fanatic" and his web at work has banned sites with words like that.
EDIT:
Whoever plays before DogBoy, if you send the turn to me I will play it since I have his password, it is very early in the game and most likely all I would be doing is hitting enter or moving a worker from one tile to another to build a road / mine or something.
predesad AT yahoo DOT com
predesad Mar 09, 2004, 02:22 PM After further discussion with DogBoy he says as long as this problem continues he will play each turn everyday by downloading it from his mail at work, taking it home at night to play, then mailing it from work the next day. He will be sending this turn sometime tomorrow.

Caesarian Mar 24, 2004, 09:42 AM Hi
I will be going up north fishing from the 24 to the 31 so I have asked Predesad if he could play my turns till I get back..... so DogBoy send my turn to Predesad... Much appreciated..see u all on the 31
predesad Mar 25, 2004, 01:48 AM well, i was not expecting to be a replacement player anytime soon, & i dont object to doing it, but i think it is unethical for me to view anymore turns if there is a posssibility i would be a replacement in the future. i didnt really learn much of anything last turn, no more than what i would have already known from setting up the game since it is so early. but in the future there might be the possibility i could learn something form viewing the turns which would influence how i play if / when i replace another player. right now i am pretty much just going to rely upon my ally for general instructions and continue everything else according to what i have seen caesarian doing.

Caesarian Apr 01, 2004, 11:28 AM C3C Patch v1.20 is here!
posted by Thunderfall at 21:26 | comments: 3
Good news! Firaxis has posted the Civ3 Conquests v1.20 patch on Firaxis's website as promised. The patch is 20.7 MB in size and is for all language versions (English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish). Note that this patch does not support save games from pre-v1.20 versions.
So I we can not get it then...........dam
Rocinante Apr 01, 2004, 11:37 AM * PBEM: v1.20 Games can not be loaded on earlier versions. Earlier saves can STILL be loaded in v1.20
stop this false rumor and get patched. I've already tried it and it works.
Caesarian Apr 01, 2004, 11:39 AM so i can play my other saved games to?
Rocinante Apr 01, 2004, 11:42 AM yes, but I think this will be a slow day on the PBEM front.
DogBoy Apr 02, 2004, 05:43 AM The patch works just fine. Apparently Firaxis misworded what they said about the patch. What they meant to say was pre-1.20 computers (as in that computer doesn't have the current patch) will no longer load 1.20 saves. It's the same way it's always been done. I've got the patch and played with it.
Caesarian Apr 02, 2004, 12:35 PM OK..............Who has the file..........lets get this thing going......................
Rocinante Apr 02, 2004, 12:44 PM Roger that, Caesarian!
Rocinante Apr 06, 2004, 05:14 PM We're blocked so I think I may bail out if it doesn't start up again real soon.
DogBoy Apr 06, 2004, 05:32 PM No doubt, where is the game? If someone has it but doens't know what to do with it because of the patch issue, let me know and I can help you out.
Caesarian Apr 06, 2004, 06:53 PM Krabius must have it .......i last had it like a week ago
Rocinante Apr 06, 2004, 07:21 PM I emailed Krabius and resent turn 16, too. It has been a month and four days and we're only on turn 16!
Rocinante Apr 14, 2004, 09:42 AM I never got a reply from Krabius so I guess he is no longer with us--Caesarian, recruit a replacement so we can get going again or announce 'game over'.
Caesarian Apr 14, 2004, 12:31 PM Ok i cant get anyone .....so this is over..
DogBoy Apr 14, 2004, 04:58 PM It's not over. I have someone who would be willing to play in his place. His name is Bob and his e-mail is civaddict2002 AT yahoo DOT com Send Krabius' turn to Bob and he said he would fill in.
Rocinante Apr 14, 2004, 07:21 PM Sent game to Bob, but I don't know Krabius' password. I'll send the save to Caesarian too in case he needs to use the admin password.
predesad Apr 14, 2004, 09:06 PM i am sending bob the mayans password right now, caesarian does not have the admin password
Rocinante Apr 14, 2004, 09:12 PM My apologies, Predesad, I forgot you were overseeing the game. Good to get the game going again, btw.

This must be the infamies BOB....good to c u post
DogBoy Apr 29, 2004, 06:14 PM Ok, I got the turn but it said turn 36. I opened it up and it was turn 37 so it looks like we are back on track.
DogBoy Apr 30, 2004, 11:00 PM For some reason I got an e-mail today saying that the turn I sent yesterday got kicked back because it was an unregistered e-mail address or something like that. Very weird because it's the same e-mail address I always use. Anyway, I resent the game and I'm going to post it here so I don't hold the game up.
DogBoy May 02, 2004, 05:24 PM I see that the save hasn't been downloaded yet. I tried not to hold up the turn by posting it here. Does anybody know where the game is?
Caesarian May 02, 2004, 05:40 PM ya i got the secomd email and played it and sent it
Rocinante May 02, 2004, 05:48 PM If you sent it to me I haven't gotten it yet.
Caesarian May 03, 2004, 01:19 PM well i just resent it
Rocinante May 03, 2004, 06:13 PM played and sent to CivAddict2002
Rocinante May 05, 2004, 12:34 AM already did 2270BC, please send 2230BC
Rocinante May 05, 2004, 01:52 PM 2230BC played and sent to CivAddict2002
Rocinante May 05, 2004, 04:33 PM We made the jump to v1.20, is it time to patch up to v1.22?
DogBoy May 05, 2004, 05:10 PM I don't care which patch we use. I have some games running 1.20 and some running 1.22. And what I have noticed is I can play any patch game on 1.20. Even if it's a 1.22 game, I can load it, play it, send it, and the next guy can open and play it at 1.22. Very weird.
Rocinante May 05, 2004, 05:19 PM great, then if I join a 1.22 game I may be able to play and not patch up to 1.22 which may disturb some other players in other games--thanks.
Caesarian May 06, 2004, 12:27 PM OK.....Iam i changing the turn # name????
Rocinante May 07, 2004, 07:21 PM 2110BC played and sent to CivAddict2002

CivAddict2002 May 10, 2004, 06:42 PM actually i did already get this turn. you sent the turn on may 7 and replied on this thread on may 8 that you sent it so i just assumed it was another turn. so i already played this turn and sent to dogboy.
DogBoy May 10, 2004, 07:05 PM I played this one and sent it on May 7 and I haven't seen the turn again. I guess Caesarian has it.
Caesarian May 11, 2004, 01:02 PM What turn number am I supposed to have??????

DogBoy Jun 01, 2004, 03:41 PM Ok, I think the problem is between me and Caesarian. I just got the same save from civaddict that I got yesterday. I sent it to Caesarian. I'm going to send the game to him again and post the save here. Very frustrating.
Rocinante Jun 02, 2004, 03:52 PM NAA067 sent to CivAddict

Rocinante Jun 02, 2004, 10:49 PM NAA068 over to Civaddict2002
CivAddict2002 Jun 03, 2004, 05:43 AM hmm, i never got that save. can you send it again? something must be wrong with the e-mail. or perhaps i did get this but you didnt post here until hours after you sent it.
Rocinante Jun 03, 2004, 09:57 AM turn 69 sent to CivAddict2002
Caesarian Jun 03, 2004, 12:37 PM maby we should just post the saves on here....it mit go faster?.......its not realy a PBEM game then but whatever..
Rocinante Jun 03, 2004, 12:42 PM yes, sometimes it is hours after I send the game that I have the time to get online and post. I'll post the saves here, too.
Rocinante Jun 03, 2004, 12:44 PM here is the game save

Caesarian Jun 09, 2004, 08:13 PM MAN we r just giving her today
Rocinante Jun 09, 2004, 09:01 PM I'm here for another 5 hours...let's roll!
DogBoy Jun 09, 2004, 09:08 PM I just sent the turn but I'm going to bed now. I have to get up real early in the morning.
Caesarian Jun 11, 2004, 07:12 PM whats going on?????????
DogBoy Jun 11, 2004, 10:48 PM I just got home from work and expected to see the game in my inbox, but it wasn't there. I e-mailed civaddict and he said he never got it from Rocky.
Rocinante Jun 11, 2004, 11:01 PM he has it now
DogBoy Jun 14, 2004, 02:30 PM Happy 100th turn! [party] [party] [party] Except for one time, we always get 1 turn a day. Some days we get 3-4 turns at night (night for me at least), and 1 turn before I go to work. Thank you guys for checking your e-mail and playing your turn. So many other PBEMers should take lessons from this group of players on how to play a PBEM.
Rocinante Jun 14, 2004, 04:52 PM Happy 100!!!!
My first PBEM to reach the century mark although RockyPBEM is now at turn 97.
Rocinante Jun 16, 2004, 03:43 PM up to turn 106 and going strong
Caesarian Jun 18, 2004, 01:49 PM i just sent turn 112 and i will be gone this weekend ....will be abal to play sunday night....later
DogBoy Jun 18, 2004, 02:09 PM Ok, have a good weekend!
DogBoy Jun 20, 2004, 08:09 AM Guys, I am going on vacation. I will be gone from June 20-23 and from June 26-July 1. Sorry for the delay.
Caesarian Jun 22, 2004, 06:33 PM We were going so good .......who has the turn????..........O NM DogBoy has it
DogBoy Jun 22, 2004, 10:00 PM I'm back, just played and sent my turn.
DogBoy Jun 25, 2004, 08:47 AM Hi, just a reminder that I'm going on vacation today. I will be back on July 1 or 2. Sorry for the delay and see you when I get back.
So if you are wondering who has the turn, it's probably me. I just played and sent the turn to Caesarian.
Caesarian Jul 02, 2004, 09:51 AM Hey I just played turn 122 and sent it on its way ............gone for the weekend(HAPPY CANADA DAY 137 Years old..on the 1th) be back on the 4th or 5th ....later
DogBoy Jul 02, 2004, 10:06 AM Ok, have a good weekend!
DogBoy Jul 12, 2004, 04:59 AM Does anybody know where the game is? It has been two days since I have seen it.
Caesarian Jul 12, 2004, 12:17 PM i just played and sent turn 136 yesterday
DogBoy Jul 12, 2004, 05:05 PM Rocky probably has it then because I haven't received a save from another game that I'm in with him. Probably ISP issues.
DogBoy Jul 14, 2004, 10:43 PM Ok, someone has the game. Let's all check in and figure out who has it and when is the last time someone sent it. I see that Caesarian sent turn 136. Does whoever get the turn form Caesarian have the save?
Rocinante Jul 14, 2004, 11:06 PM sent turn 135 to CivAddict2002 on 7/10
CivAddict2002 Jul 15, 2004, 05:23 AM i sent 135 to dogboy. i have never seen 136.
DogBoy Jul 15, 2004, 04:27 PM Caesarian, it looks like your turn never got there. I think you are the only one that has seen turn 136. Can you send your turn again please?
DogBoy Jul 29, 2004, 08:30 PM Did Caesarian say he was going on vacation or something? I sent him the game about 3 days ago, then I sent it again last night. He is the only one out of us four that I haven't seen in several days.
Caesarian Jul 30, 2004, 10:48 PM sorry guys i was just moving my place of residence and its bin a hektik week and all......turn sent
DogBoy Jul 31, 2004, 05:54 AM Whew, glad you are back. I was about ready to start looking for a replacement for you. I figured you had died or something.
Caesarian Aug 10, 2004, 10:10 AM My comp is ****ed up real bad...so i will be formating it soon........so i will be unabal to play civ for the next 2 to 3 days( i have a bizy week sorry)...if worst comes to worst i should be abal to play come monday......sorry.
DogBoy Aug 10, 2004, 03:58 PM No problem Caesarian. Thanks for letting us know. Hope it all gets worked out.
Rocinante Aug 24, 2004, 01:14 PM 14 days, no game
DogBoy Aug 25, 2004, 09:44 PM Ya, I was wondering how long we should wait. I'm sure I can get a replacement if we need to get one, but I think Caesarian has the admin password if I'm not mistaken. Kinda bad to drop a guy from his own game :(
DogBoy Aug 26, 2004, 04:08 PM Ok, I have the admin password now. I think I can find a replacement if everybody agrees to it. I really hate to kick Caesarian out of the game because this was his idea. But it's better to kick him out of the game and play on, than it is just to let the game die. I will put out a few e-mails to get a replacement but if anybody in this game asks me to wait for Caesarian to come back I will.
Rocinante Aug 26, 2004, 05:02 PM how about you play both civs?
DogBoy Aug 26, 2004, 06:47 PM Sure, I can play both civs. The replacement I was looking for doesn't have the time. I didn't know if you guys would think it ok if I did play both civs, but I will so we can keep this game alive.
Rocinante Aug 26, 2004, 07:25 PM ...and if Caesarian shows up again, he can slide back into the game no problem.
DogBoy Aug 26, 2004, 07:32 PM I sent the game to you Rocky. Did you get it? I'm sure I put in the right e-mail address.
Rocinante Aug 26, 2004, 07:39 PM You sent turn 160 but I have turn 162 saved and I re-sent it to CivAddict just a few minutes ago. If he also has his sav-file from two weeks ago you should be getting a new turn shortly.
DogBoy Aug 26, 2004, 08:04 PM Ok, sorry about that. I had deleted the save after I sent it and got the old save from an e-mail to Caesarian. Since I had never played his turn, I didn't realize it was an old save. I am sending turn 162 now which thankfully I had in an old e-mail to him.
Rocinante Aug 26, 2004, 09:21 PM NAA163 sent to CivAddict (my screen says 163 so I changed the file name)
DogBoy Aug 29, 2004, 02:34 PM Man, this sucks. I had the Ottomans declare peace to get some free stuff, and it made the Persians go to peace with everybody. I hadn't realized that locked alliances would do that.
Caesarian Sep 10, 2004, 12:05 PM Ok guys I am back.....lets play.
Rocinante Sep 11, 2004, 01:15 AM Welcome back
Rocinante Sep 11, 2004, 01:16 AM We are now up to turn 192, Dogboy has been playing your hand.
Caesarian Sep 11, 2004, 02:59 AM 192 nice.... when can i get back in???
Caesarian Sep 20, 2004, 01:32 AM where the game at???
Caesarian Sep 22, 2004, 02:29 AM Hello???????????????
DogBoy Sep 24, 2004, 10:26 PM To all: I finally got my computer up and running. It had a problem that made the computer constantly reboot and there was nothing I could do. I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP. I am currently downloading all patches, drivers, and reinstalling all my programs. I should be able to play again real soon. Thanks for being patient.
I need Caesarian's e-mail address as I lost all my .pst files.
Caesarian Oct 04, 2004, 08:01 PM HAPPY 200th turn.....YAAAAA!!!!! :bday: [party]
Caesarian Oct 27, 2004, 05:20 PM WE ARE AT WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mlmabc123 Oct 27, 2004, 05:33 PM yeah ill join ill be the Iriquois. email is bsballhckeymm14@netscape.net
DogBoy Oct 27, 2004, 08:01 PM This battle report is a few hours old, but I will repost it here.
The dirty Americans and Mayans declared war on me (Persia) and my allies the Ottomans. At least they were honorable enough to give us a one turn notice. In retaliation for declaring war I attacked this was the result.
@America:
-One city captured
-Killed 4 cav
-Captured about 8 workers
-I lost 1 cav
Rocinante Oct 27, 2004, 10:31 PM One of my favorite steak restaurants was in Kansas City!!
DogBoy Oct 29, 2004, 03:57 PM Umm, but I love the steakhouses in Kansas City.
CivAddict2002 Oct 29, 2004, 07:05 PM killed a persian spearman outside Kansas City.
DogBoy Oct 29, 2004, 08:33 PM @ Mayans:
Killed 2 riflemen
Killed 1 cav
Killed 1 longbowman
Captured Tours
rcoutme Nov 09, 2004, 01:38 AM I sent the battle report to Dogboy directly. Should I post it here?
DogBoy Nov 09, 2004, 06:11 AM Wherever is fine. I find it easier just to e-mail the battle report to everybody. Or you can post it here.
America
@ Ergili
-Killed 2 cav
-Killed 1 knight
-Killed 1 ancient cavalry
@ Ghulaman
-Killed 8 cav
-Killed 1 rifleman
Mayan
@ Tours
-Killed 2 cav
Caesarian Nov 09, 2004, 11:06 AM Mayan @
Ghulaman
-Killed 10 or more cav
- lost 0
America @
Istanbul
-kill all but 4 mid infantry
- lost 1 Sipahi
rcoutme Nov 09, 2004, 01:36 PM The fight for Ergili steps up. Casualties are:
America: 6 Cavalry
Bad Guys (Persia): 3 Muskets (man they were mean), 3 rifles, 1 pikeman
DogBoy Nov 11, 2004, 07:12 AM The fight for Ergili will continue. I wasn't able to counterattack, but my forces there are strong. On another front:
Mayan:
@ Ghulaman
Mayan lost 3 longbowmen
Lost 1 medieval infantry
Persia lost 2 immortal.
rcoutme Nov 11, 2004, 06:06 PM In the words of a great coward who lived to fight another day... He who fights and runs away... gets to see his kids before he dies... something like that... or was it, gets to drink some wine in the city before the last battle?
DogBoy Nov 12, 2004, 06:09 AM It is good you run away...but you didn't run too fast.
Mayan:
Lost 1 knight and the city of Rouen while Persia lost 1 immortal.
America:
Lost 2 riflemen while I lost 3 cav near Paris. (Those little conscripts were tough!)
Lost 1 rifleman and 1 longbowman while I lost 1 cav at Ergili.
rcoutme Nov 13, 2004, 03:09 PM Well Dogboy, as you probably expected, I killed off your two redlined cavalry near Paris. One of my conscripts got promoted in the process, but I suspect that will be shortlived :(
DogBoy Nov 13, 2004, 04:42 PM You are correct, his promotion was short lived.
America:
Lost 2 riflemen at Paris.
Mayan:
Lost 5 cav and 1 cannon and the city of Yaroslavl. I lost 1 immortal.
rcoutme Nov 15, 2004, 06:08 PM Well...it seems that now that the fight for Ergili is over, the fight for Paris is on
Persia: 2 Muskets, 4 Pikemen, 1 Immortal
America: 1 cavalry
rcoutme Nov 16, 2004, 07:49 PM To put it mildly: Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no substitute for a good blaster at your side...
Persian losses near Paris: 1 Musket, 10 Immortals
American losses: none (we took some damage)
DogBoy Nov 16, 2004, 11:09 PM Killed an American rifleman near Los Vegas. However, I lost a frigate off my southeastern shores to an American frigate.
rcoutme Nov 18, 2004, 12:05 AM Killed an elite Cavalry on the hills above Ergili.
Caesarian Nov 18, 2004, 11:14 AM killed 3 cav (USA) at Bactra and 1 rifle at Yekaterinburg
DogBoy Nov 21, 2004, 03:19 PM Ok, Caesarian posted he played the game on Nov 18. I have not seen it since then. So either Rcoutme or Civaddict has it. Anybody know where the game is?
rcoutme Nov 21, 2004, 05:29 PM Sorry...I have the game, but have been wiped due to CFIDS
Ok, I played it anyways:
Battle north of Ergili: bombed the Sipahi then eliminated it with cavalry
Battle near Yekaterinburg (the hill). I will call it the Battle for Blood Hill.
The Battle for Blood Hill began on a March afternoon and continued for seven months. During that time, the Ottoman Sipahi, led by their great leader (sorry, didn't catch the name) put up a magnificent defense, but in the end were overwhelmed by superior American forces.
Final tally: Ottomans 23 Sipahi and 1 Great Leader
Americans 8 cavalry
DogBoy Nov 21, 2004, 07:55 PM No problem Rcoutme. I just didn't know if the game was stalled for a different reason.
Killed a Mayan cav near Ergili.
rcoutme Nov 22, 2004, 07:11 PM Game sent to Civaddict
Caesarian Nov 23, 2004, 12:01 PM Killed one Cavalry on the hills above Ergili.
lost 1 Sipahi
rcoutme Nov 23, 2004, 01:30 PM Game sent to Civaddict
DogBoy Nov 23, 2004, 04:56 PM America at my city in the West
