Issues: What shall the queue be?

Issue: Vandelay needs its own worker. Instead of a spear, build a worker now. Very soon, this will pay of several times by increased production, growth, and commerce! Building mines and roads on the 2 plains, a mine on the roaded desert and working the flood plains will give a great boost. :goodjob:

Tao, I agree with you, and so does Defense Minister Sarevok (by inference from his posts in the Berry thread). Queue proposal: Worker, Granary, Warrior.

I urge my neighboring city to pettition the higher powers to assign a worker (or a few) to their city. asking for just that has done wonders for Vo Mimbre, but at the same time we got hit with an order to send out a settler.
Your city has the potential to be a great breeding pit, and i would hate to see that potential get wasted because a few workers were not assigned to improve the terrain around your city.

This would be the ideal case. Regrettably, we currently waste the oh so valuable worker turns. Look at the gang working on the hill (forget for now that IMHO it was wrong to work the hill and not a forrest plus a plains tile): 2 workers build the mine and the Babylonian guest is completely wasting turns, because he does not shorten the time till the mine is complete. he should stop mining immediately and start roading, because that would finish mine plus road in 3 turns instead of 4.

Whether we should build another warrior after the granary depends on whether we need to build a second military police ourselves. It would be -- from a global point of view -- far better for Fanatica to immediately start cranking out settlers and workers.

I am pleased to announce that I will be making your great city my permanent home. I also pledge that as long as I am governor, Vandelay will stand tall as the capital of Audiac Province.

Please feel free to stop in the Governor's Office(currently under construction) with any issues you may have. And since I am right in town, please know that you will have someone that will work non-stop to put an end to the barbarian raids that have plagued your great city.

And to tao and RoddyVR: Since you have shown such interest in the welfare of this city, I would be honored if you both would join me as citizens here. In doing so, you would be on my short list for future mayorships as they arise.

I am pleased to announce that I will move my residence to your city also. Don't cheer up to much, I will rant even more about what should be done in Vandelay! ;)

My suggestions are as follows: don't finish the worker we started !!! we don't need it now!
build (switch to) a granary !!! It will help building the oh so necessary settlers claiming the western part of the province and the workers to improve the lands. And the growth afterwards will make our city strong.
of the 3 workers currently in our city, keep 1 but let the other 2 work for the benefit of Fanatica (depending on where our next settlement locations will be (orange!, black, white) they should start roading towards there
we should concentrate on science and commerce: no barracks, but library, market, university
we might try to become Fanatica's super science city w Copernicus' and Newton's; it is definitely possible w proper planning

Greetings Mayor Noldodan. I am so proud to see a recent ex-Montpellierian take the helm here in Vandelay as Mayor. Congratulations. I'm especially glad you've risen to the top and achived your dream. I'm just stopping by to bring you a complimentary case of wine from the Fanatican Winery. I'm sure you're very well aware of the quality of wine from Montpellier, but I thought you might like a reminder.

I've also included a bundle of 6 Beers from the Cyclone Brewery, which was created after you left our fine city. The Barley and Hops are the product of Peri d' Ami and his people. I'm sure you remember them too.

Tao, I think you're sorta right about the workers. We should definetly send at least one worker away, but not two. Fanatica will be better off having most of its improvements done now than it will if a worker has to be called in later. You are, however, dead on about the queue. New queue proposal: Granary, Settler, Culture building, Settler, Culture building, Settler...

And thank you for the generous gifts, Mayor Cyc! I will try to match them if I can find a suitable item.

I forgot about this... I'm going on a camping trip from this afternoon (6 PM EST) until Sunday afternoon (1-2 PM EST), and may not be back online until Monday. Thus, I am appointing tao to be Mayor in my stead until I return, if he will. If he will not, then... Vandelay will be without a Mayor until then.
