Hello Everyone,

My first question 2day: Does anyone in this forum know how to open "les" files ??? The reaso: I got the game World War I today and- despite of the fact it has some terrible AI scripting and pathfinding it looks quite nice- and the figures in there look pretty neat too.

I'just need someone who does the 3D ripping... there are cute little Germans, Russians, British, Austrian, Hungarian, French, and several minor National Units (African, Ethiopian, etc) and they are the same size as civ3 units :D (and bring along niceties like mortars, diverse guns and howitzers)

Are you sure they are at the right camera angles?

Also, where can I get this game :)?

Ooh! Very nice. Looks like those are French WWI Infantry.. Perhaps you can just use the pictures and copy and paste them all to a unit folder? You'd have to use the infantry units Firaxis made for the attack.. or you can always try doing what I mentioned while the units are attacking.

Perhaps you can post screenies of all the sorts of infantries, it'd even be more convenient if you can use an editor if their would be one for that game.

They look as if they'd blend well with civ... That terrain is pretty
sweet as well!

Actually, it wouldn't be all that mammoth, the hardest part would be cutting out the green part. If you can, can you please give me a shot with the infantry facing in all it's directions and I'll get to work on it. I'd just have to open up Photoshop and copy and paste it a bunch of times and then you're done with the default animations. How about that?

well, I can send u the positions for the default view- but what is the plan about attack, run, fidget, death ??? :( just cleaning the file would be frustrating and a very lenghty undertaking (besides, I have no idea of how to capture the moving animations) honestly, if we find someone that can extract the units into 3d we'd get the cleaned files with proper pallete and all animations in order (and in pcx format) ...

Well when you're units are fighting, take a screenshot, that's how you get attack views... same with the other actions.

It would be easier if you could get the 3d models, but not easier for me because I don't have poser. Do what you wish best. I'd like the default views for France and Austria just for fun..

How many units are we talking about here?

There's got to be atleast 2 different looks of infantry for each nation in the game, which you can decide apon you're knowledge of WWI, and then there must me more like artillery, mortars, tanks, etc. etc. I hope there's a handful which Winter could post screenies of.

Hey, is it possible to edit the terrain images? If so, Winter, why don't you just paint the grass all black or magenta or any other color? Then, the work on cutting out the green parts would be gone. :)

All Artillery and Mortars, Machine Guns and the like have little Soldiers in their respective uniforms with them- looks particularly cool to have german cannons advancing with German Infantry and Stormtroopers, or british Machine Gunners with basic infantry, cavalry, officers, mortar crews and respective artillery !!!

below: German Artillery, British Cavalry

That's a Logitech Entertainment System Game Profile file (whew, what a name). It's the same as a .REG extention.
