View Full Version : Deleting Barbarians?
subbss Feb 15, 2004, 12:55 AM Are there any negative effects of deleting 'A Barbarian Chiefdom' from the civ list?
In the scenario setup menu when someone is playing the mod what would happen if they select an option other than 'No Barbarians'?
I want to get rid of the barbs, but I have left them in untill I am sure it is safe to take them out. Has anyone else tried to delete the barbs?
subbss Feb 15, 2004, 06:14 PM Someone tell me, please, it's important. It seems simple but it would be a big help if someone could answer!
embryodead Feb 15, 2004, 07:08 PM You can't delete barbarian chiefdom. If you do, the next civ on the list will become one. To get rid of barbarians, simply choose "None" for all three barbarian slots in General Settings tab.
subbss Feb 15, 2004, 07:40 PM Thanks, embryodead!
I would have been in big trouble if I had deleted them before you responded!
Louis XXIV Feb 15, 2004, 08:59 PM That might just leave "blank Barb camps" (not necessarily a bad thing, as they could be interpreted as Goodie Huts).

Turn off barbs in scenario properties and they'll be gone too.
subbss Feb 15, 2004, 10:45 PM I am guessing that is an option for the C3C editor because I don't seem to have any barbarian option in the scenario properties box.
I have PTW.
Louis XXIV Feb 16, 2004, 08:48 AM I think its under some map setting thing (like you can set them to roaming, raging, etc, you can also turn them off). But, I thought I remembered hearing that it turns off goodie huts as well.

They're in PTW, even in vanilla civ3. Barbarian unit slots are in General Settings tab, on the right side. Barbarian activity is under Map Options in Scenario Properties.
subbss Feb 16, 2004, 03:43 PM I have to have a custom map for that to work though. I want a random map each time so I have custom map off so I can't use that feature.
civilleader Feb 16, 2004, 06:32 PM I checked, it is applicable for good huts. I hate barbarians myself!

No, you don't need to have a custom map. It is in scenario properties.
