alrite well im still playing as the Tau'ri. So all but one of the replicator cities have been destroyed and its only a short time untill my SG Team and the 5 jaffa surrounding the city take it over.

umm... ive been mainly focusing on the replicators but Anubis has attaked at proclarush twice and have been close to taking over both times but i managred to hold them off. (it was a deathglider attack) if that makes any difference

oh ya and i forgot to mention that the jaffa city of hak'tyl has been destroyed. i dont know who destroyed it but its gone. lol. probly that darn Anubis.

okay sorry for so many posts guys i shulda fit it all into 1. neways this is a question about abydos so it really dosnt have nething to do with this scenario its for my own scenario. Abydos has Naquidah on it right?

In the Movie, it has small reserves of Naq. there are mines worked by Abydonian workers mentioned, but never shown

Ok, about how many gliders is Anubis attacking with?...versus how many defenders?...

Are you building SG teams, or using the 3 preplaced ones?...

Did Jack O'neil and Samantha carter(Heros(?)) make any difference?

kk thans spacer. the question was because i am currently starting a scenario where apophis attacks abydos. somewhat like the movie but its apophis because of the lack of Leaderheads.

k spacer Oneill was the reason the DG's didnt take over proclarush the first time. um i think there were 3 DG's the first time n i dont remember how many the second time. i built one SG team and thats the one at the replicator city.

Another SG team is on its way to anubis's city with 2 SG Elites. One is defending proclarush and i think the other one must have died i dont remember.


Also if anyone has the ability to turn a Storyboard.bmp into a PCX and Flc. or however you do it i have taken the attack animation for the TOW Infantry and made it look something like a jaffa cannon that could be a temporary place holder. it looks like a TOW Infantry but it shoots like a jaffa cannon. so ya if anyone has the ability can they please PM me of post here. It could come in handy.

Several questions I found that the word replicators is misspelled on some places. Could you also tell what the wonders do? And does Anubis have access to an interstellar ship to fight the Prometheus?
I checked the image problem in the mod and the solution is very simple: the first two colors in the palette should be magenta and green. Otherwise civ will change it...
ps: what a coincidence I never saw my replicator ship in the series before today, the fist SG episode I see after completing it... :)

Well, there IS a suitable RA LH...Its not RA of course, and I cant remember the name...

If you are making Abydos...Its ALL desert with very few few mountains...and the temple/landing pad...you only ever see 1 Abydos city, but its huge...there are unlocated ruins "near" the city...
and you could have the "Abydos Cartuche" representing during the show, when they went back for Daniel, he had discovered the "map" of the stargates...

Also remember that Writing is forbidden on Abydos...and that they are a Tribal ruled society...everyone follows Kasuf...also you cant forget Sha're or Skaara...I would do it as a 3 civ scenario...SG-1, Abydos, and RA...but you could always do a "RA is dead" scenario where Apophis comes to reclaim the planet...Daniel could call SG-1 back through the gate?...just an idea...

{edit} also later on the show, SG-1 discovers that Isis and Horus have been imprisoned on earth for 3000 years...there is a scenario there, if I could get the hopper made, it could be a "back in time" scenario...but Im doing the battle of Anarctic next...so I can make Cameron "Shaft" Mitchells a unit...

Ok...To answer Flamand now...

A) youd never seen the ship move on screen and you made it that close to perfect? Im impressed

Anubis and Baal will get the Ha'tak and Al'kesh to combet the Prometheus/replicator cruiser/and AMS, as soon as they are finished...Im not holding my breath tho...because today is release date, and Ive not gotten a confirmation on either unit...(SoG and/or Orthanc have been debating over who will do them, but theye were supposed to be started today)...so release is put off for 14 days...No more...I will release this in 2 weeks, even if I have to use fillers(which I doubt...both the guys working on my ships are GOOD, Im just not sure when they will start)

Civ entries arent done yet, but they will be...so Wonders will have descriptions...Im not really sure what I want them to do...right now they are just loaded with stuff to make it play smoother(communications, alliances, and a few bonuses for each one...I will refine what they do and post a new Civ.txt...as far as mispellings, I will do what I can to edit the text..but Im BAD with that...expect a few mispellings even in the final product...

I didnt realize that the Green was also needed, I couldnt figure out why the Icons kept turning pink...thanx...

There are resized replicators, and Large ones as well...

ok, two things...1 here is the new TXT with Wonder descriptions...

2 does anyone know how to make Tech descriptions "turn the page"???
My plan is to put the script into the pedia for each tech, representing that moment of the episode...but I can only get 28 lines or so to show up...on Civ entries I can get the page to turn, do Techs not work the same?...

The Civ entries for the later added units arent done yet(Jack, Teal'c Sam, Bra'tac) but will be eventually...and I couldnt find any replicator mispellings, please point them out as there is alot of text...Wonder abilities have been reduced to not be ridiculous...

Okay Spacer here is what has been happening:

-I sent a Asgard Mothership with 4 SG Elites and 1 Infantry and the X303 With 6 F302S
-4 Turns later 5 more elites
-4 Turns later 5 more elites
-2 turns later 6 f302s
-4 Turns later 5 more elites
-4 Turns later 5 more elites
-2 turns 6 f302 (which all lost to one Kull Warrior)
-2 turns later 5 more elites.

These 29 elites, 1 SG Infantry, and 6 f302s killed 10 Death gliders, 22 Jaffa, 2 Anubic Warriors and 2 Kull warriors.

I Took over Tartarus (Anubis) Aug 3

I let my units heal in Tartarus then when they were all healed I abandoned Tartarus on July 4th and it took 10 units to kill one Kull warrior.

Destroyed Entak which was built on the same planet as Tartarus and Abydos. (With no unit losses.)

Sent all my units and surrounded Abydos which was defended by 2 Elite Kull Warriors.

I Had Abydos surrounded with 23 SG Elites, 10 F302’s, And 1 SG Team.

I lost 13 SG elites and 5 F302’s to take Abydos. Those are some damn strong Kull Warriors.



Replicators have taken back one of their cities April 4


Replicators were wiped off the map by my 2 SG Teams Oct 3


And ive got a few questions.
1. How does the SG team attack from a tile away if a unit is moving passed?
2. How can I make it so units can attack more than once?
3. And how can I make techs and wonders/improvements Civ specific? Does it have to do with the flavor flags because I cant seem to figure them out.

Well Spacer there you go now I have to deal with Anubis on the main land. I am still at peace with Baal but he is furious at me so I don’t know how much longer that will last but I hope at least untill im through with Anubis.

And I have not met any technical issues yet.

Also if i can find a LH suitable for Ra i will change Apophis to Ra and it will be a more interesting Scenario. Also a scenario can be made for many different episodes.

Ok Killer, have you seen the show?...Kull warriors are insane powerful...they can take a small nuke to the face and walk it off..

The SG-Team attacking a square away, is ZONE OF CONTROL flag I believe...
Mulitple attacks is Blitz, you get to attack for every unspent movement point...Jack O'neil, and the F302 shold also have that ability

Sounds like it is playing exactly like I wanted it to...how are the Techs running as far as time?...is it too fast or too slow?...

Oh and to make stuff civ specific...

For example SGC, I gave them a SKill called SG-1...I give it to SGC and make it: Not required for Era advance, and untradeable...then you make any skill that is "Specivic" have it as a prerequesite...
Like this...

There is a skill called:Naquadria Refining...it is SGC specific, so it requires SG-1...

The Jaffa , the Goa'uld, and the replicators all have a SKill that noone else can learn, that is required for their tech advances...then you can also make the civ specific techs lead to wonders/improvements or units...

In this game, there is also an "All but the Replicators" skill, so that I could make a tech tree for only the players...(Colonize, Ancient knowledge)

I hope this explains it, if not...feel free to poke around and look at the biq...just start with the techs, and one of the JAFFA/GOA"ULD/REPLICATE/SG-1 skills...

so far so good, all the tests are running well...Im working on the Civilopedia, but thats not gonna stop release...Everything should be set up, I just need to fix the terrain(If I bother) and the tech Icons(this is more likely to be done)

Im just glad to have it near finished, and playable...

Im starting on the "Credits" text tonight, so anyone who made contributions, and wants credit, that I dont know of...Please lemme know who and what...

The credits for most graphics will be included in their Civ text, and also in the Credits text...

Also, if anyone is willing to gather a list of Goa'uld and/or Jaffa city names, Id be thankful...Its not needed for release, but building New Abydos, or Chu'lak 2 is just odd...

Yes spacer city names would be good but its alright how it is. for the abydos scenario i just have pyamid 1 pyramid 2 etc but thats sumwhat fine for that scenrio.

I liked the one with small planets and the railroads on the outer edge...

My original concept(Before I read the thread) was to use Airports, and put 6-9 of them around each "Stargate"...but I couldnt figure out how to change "control" of a stargate so that anyone could take/use it...

either way, before I will start working on any full MODS, someone(possibly me) will have to develop some LH making abilities...I am not a big fan of filler graphics...I would use static LH if I even knew how to make them, but I dont have the progs for it...

NO they can't. In season 7 episode 16 it is stated that the kenetic forces of such an explosion would kill it regardless of the armor. The self descruct of the Alpha site killed one. They can shrug off c4, m60s, m4s, m16s, staff weapons and zat'ni'katel but they can't shrug off the laws of physics:D

HAMMOND: Is there anything else we can use against these drones?

DAD: Their armor is impervious to energy weapons and regular firearms are useless.

JACKSON: What about the drones that were killed in the blast?

DAD: Kinetic energy.. an explosion of that size. They can't ignore physics.

JACKSON: So if there was enough kinetic energy..

DAD: There would have to be alot.

HAMMOND: How about a missile?

DAD: That might do it, if you get close enough.

For the record guys, this whole thing is being shelved...

I cant get anyone to do the Ha'tak, or Al'kesh...So...if you want to see this get released, I need someone to do them...I have tried to help find models and meshes as much as I can, but Im pretty much over waiting...I tried guys, but noone except Flamand was willing to do anything for this MOD, so it will sit on my HD until the ships get done...

Im sorry to all of you who want/wanted to play it, but I will not put it out in its incomplete state, even tho it is fully playable...The Goa'uld factions have no chance to get off their planet, and so it is terribly unbalanced...and not worth releaseing...

Again, Im sorry, I was hoping this would be my first completed scenario

@ marine corps- jacob carter says that in the show but in that same episode sam carter finds the crashed UAV and uses the missle it was carrying and shoots it directly at the kull warrior and i does not die. Then Colonol Oneill and teal'c come and save the day as usual.

Found a Ha'Tak mesh in LWO but I have trouble converting it to 3ds :(

Ok, cheer up guys.

I sent the complex Ha'tak to Flamand. But, it might be too complex and detailed to be used in Civ3.
So I also sent him this far simpler model. It is a derivative of a Ha'tak.

No one pushed you aside... :) All unit makers have a list of units they want to make, sometimes a very long list, such as mine. You can't expect to jump immediately to the top every time you need something...
I promise I'll do the Ha'tak as soon as I feel like it, which means that I still want to make a couple of Trek units first and perhaps one or two Fallout units (another mod that is waiting for units before it is finally released) before I'll start on this. Please be patient... ;)
Can you describe what it is supposed to do? Civcolor needed? Bjorns detailed model works fine (thanks again!), but the max version is 85Mb! However the rendering time is still acceptable...

What it is supposed to do?...you mean attacks etc?...
It has no visible sheild to speak of(unless it is hit, which cant be done in Civ AFAIK)...It shoots either ONE BIG laser(steady yellow streak from just under neath somewhere) or a series of (Also yellow) bursts, about 5-8 in an attack...these come from various points on the top and bottom of the flat part(seperating it from "the pyramid")
the move is basic, they dont even wobble, it literally sits there motionless...Generally, they appear out of hyperspace, and park...I guess the move/run should be a steady float from a to b, pretty quick tho, as these always just "pop" out of hyperspace, Ive never seen one just fly around(Maybe someone has, and can tell me what episode)...no fidget to speak of...maybe it could spin slightly or something, but it doesnt "float" like the Deathgliders and the X-303 do...

I will gather the sounds it makes if you want, the attacks and move...

well spacer im glad that ive got atleast a playable version. lol. i finally took out anubis' last city and his civilization is destroyed (:goodjob:)

Now im at war with Baal and he controls alomost half the mainland. so this is going to be a long war.



Oh and BTW i still cant figure out the civspecific advances/buildings thing. ill keeps tryin to figure it out.

Killer...open up the BIQ in the editor, and look at how my techs work...every civ has their own tech tree...All you have to do is make it like this

Skill A(this skill is unlearnable, and given freely to Civ "A") then the techs would go: Tech A1 requires tech A...Tech A2 requires Tech A! etc...just make sure that the Civ in question starts with a skill that noone else can get(make it untradable, and not required for era advance)

Civ B has Tech B which is required for Tech B1

Civ C has Tech C which is required for Tech C1

as long as you understand this post, go look at my BIQ...

I also have a tech that all but 1 civ have...same process...

I attached a small view of my tech tree...the red circles are the "civ spacific" techs...(DEMO)
The other pic is the exact setting on the tech that makes stuff civ specific...(untitled)

(dont forget to add a slight metallic quality to your voice on the Mic...it helps instill terror on the puny humans you will soon be harvesting)

ok...the "smaller" attack(the one you have is great, maybe thicker lasers)...comes from just under the outter "ring" I will get a pic and show you where...

Are you familiar with "staff blasts"?
there are internally mounted guns that shoot the same thing(although bigger...WAY bigger)and tho the pic has 2 red circles, there are 3 places that the cannons shoot from, but Id prefer just 1 from the forward facibng bay

(edit)Ok, I didnt look very hard, I will if this isnt a good enough shot...(edit) Screenshot replaced with a better one

this was the best I could find where they arent mixed in with other ships and their attacks...more or less a streamlined teardrop

If it was rain, it would be falling away from the ship fat end first...(this description is poop, but I dont know how else to say it...maybe the pic will help)

What is really NEEDED...is the Al'Kesh...

The O'neill will replace the AMS for SGC...But I dont even have a filler for the Al'Kesh

Desperatly WANTED, but not needed are Jaffa units...3 of them...
Staff Jaffa/Horus Warrior/Serpent guard

The O'neill might be one of the coolest ships ever needlessly destroyed...

(edit...I had a mind fart...The Ha'Tak is needed desperately...I for some reason was commenting on the Morpheus creation "o'Neill")

Wow...then there IS a model already?...Well then it shouldnt be too hard to find someone to make it...Ive found that if you "forget" about a project that people are interested in, the units will come eventually...

So lets "forget" about the Al'Kesh...while at the same time letting Flamand and TheMorpheus know the model exsists...and hope one of them will knock it out(AND THUS BE MY HERO!!)

I don't recall an Al'Kesh. The only model I can remember for sure is the Daedalus I got from the guy on SciFi-Meshes and a low poly Apophis you got from parts unknown, not an Al'kesh. The Apophis is just some varient of the Ha'tek. I also have the O'neal by Meurig (which is the model I think Morpheus is using) and a so-so puddle jumper.

Wait, you have Apophis' Ha'Tak?...I didnt know there were seperate models for the slightly different versions...

There are maybe 5 different Ha'Tak vassels...other than the standard Ha'Tak you normally see on the show...and they are all slightly different

Hathor has her own
Apophis has his own
Ba'al has his own
Ra's Ship was the original Ha'Tak(and is called a "pyramid ship" in Canon)
Sokar has his own

I think thats all the versions of the standard Ha'Tak...no counting Anubis' giant whatever its called(see the pic in Marine Corps post)

While the Daedaleus would be an awesome addition just on a fan level, I really need a smaller ship for the Goa'uld...At this point if someone was to find the Al'kesh model(assuming that Marine Corps doesnt have the one he had anymore) Id be willing to buy it...I need it done...

Yes, I have several Ha'tak's. The one Flamand is working is the highest quality one, Apophis is far lower but decent at civ scale. The 3rd (and beyond) are just low poly stuff.

Yeah I have several versions of it. I intend to select the best one and make it eventually. Because I intend to give it the same sort of screen I gave the Prometheus, it will take a lot more effort and time then most of my units. The palette issues from adding a screen are a major problem.
I have several other ships I was planning to make first. I had been thinking to make the O'Niel, but I think Morpheus is using the same model as I had so I'll probably skip that one. Although it is a very nice 310k poly model.

Yeah I have a very large collection of models. I had even more, but lost 10gb of my very best models in zips in a HD crash (I am using a RAID now).
I don't know how many individual models I have, but it would be in the multiple 1000's probably multiple 10's of 1000's (including buildings, props, various poser things, bryce things, Lightwave specific items and so on).
I also make my own models when I HAVE to, but thus far this is not my preference. On the JS-3m (russian tank) I made 20-25% of the parts (more or less)... on the Avenger I made 60-70% of the parts.
On the Rolf Krakke I previewed I made 90-95% of the parts. I have several modeling programs, I'm just not particularly good with any of them. Combine this with being a bit of a perfectionist and you end up spending alot of time making each bit. For example, on the stryker, I remade all the small bits (rings, tie-downs, etc) because they were slightly off.
Most of what I do is put stuff together from parts I already have or can adapt to suit my needs. Make or modify the textures. Animated the unit (perhaps I have to break the mesh apart to do this), and so on.

The person with the largest model collection this side of George Lucas is Wyrmshadow. He has easily 2-3 times as many unit meshes as I do. He has little interest in humans, buildings, and so on, so I technically have more in total than him, of course over 1/2 my stuff is not related to units. When it comes to stuff with a motor, it it exists as a model he has it. And he also makes some of the meshes himself (especially ship hulls).

I would definatly put it in for flavor, but wasnt there only one, and it was a failure due to Apophis' Recall device?...Didnt Teal'c and Jack almost die in it?...or is that a different ship?...I just remember Sam/Danny/and Jacob pulling up to them in a Goa'uld cargo ship...

The x301 is a very low polygon (low quality) mesh. I'm not planning on making it... also since it was just a precurser to the f302. The model is incredibly low poly.

I found the Alkesh (checked my old e-mail). And sadly it is the same class. A pile of poo.

u see theres not different varients really for the hatak its just a matter if its a flagship or not im not talking about the uber big flagshp class which only Apophis had

Ok, not to start a huge debate, but...

I have spent Literally hours upon hours, digging through stargate pics...Mainly of the Replicator Cruiser, and the Ha'Tak...I can tell you for a FACT, that there are at least 5 different configs for the Ha'Tak...and these differences have NOTHING to do with interior...Im talking about the outside hull config surrounding the inner pyramid(which BTW is where all the "interior" is, and are all the same except for the mentioned designer taste)...there is a pattern of 3 interlocking shapes...on the standard Ha'Tak, they are circles, and resemble the Biohazard symbol when viewed from above, on others it is multi leveled, and much more squared or triangular...

Spacifically are Hathors mother ship, which is both larger than, and completely different looking next to other standard Ha'Taks...and Sokars MS which is pictured in a circle of 5 other Ha'Taks, no notable size difference, but the outter portion surrounding the pyramid is significantly different...

I will dig up the pics if you really want to see, but I would suggest digging through here first, as this is the best selection of pics on the web IMO

Sod...sod...sod...sod...sod...sod. I know that format. Oh yeah. Yeah it requires a converter that costs $30 which I just happen to have. But maybe it was the models but they didn't turn out so well. No textures and a blue gash in it that wouldn't go away even after adding the textures

Most formats are valid. Just need a converter. Which Bjornlo has.

I help. I can convert almost any major 3d format to any other.
Including .max, .3ds, .c4d, .cob, .obj, .lws/lwo, .obj, and 20 or 30 other lesser 3d formats.
But in general the best models will be in the more common formats.
I'm not saying I would have time to make the unit (can't be sure right now), but I am willing to help.

Took a look at them and showed them to Bjørn and he says they look low poly, however they come with some great textures so they might be worthwhile. But Bjørn will have final say on that when I give him the stuff.

hehe, that is the low poly version of the Daedalus I already have. I did not know he also did a low poly version. Nice guy though, almost always willing to share.

On the most recent Al-Kesh found and extracted by MarineCorps. It is rather low poly. It is not as nasty as the last one, and might be useable in a pinch.
I split the mesh to make the gun animatable. I applied sub-division to smooth out some of the more obvious flaws. I tweaked the textures slightly.

and you should see it fighting your replicator cruiser...whoo hoo...I cant thank you enough...I am working on releasing a public beta now...without the Al'Kesh...1 or 2 more little fixes...and I gotta get space from TF(or however that works)....

I'm not presently working on the Al-Kesh, and won't have time to for several weeks (2-3 or probably longer). I had to work all this weekend and most of the previous one, and by next weekend I'll have worked 18 out of the previous 19 days. I love deadlines. My schedule for next weekend is very very tight, and I have other projects I've been neglecting. I never said I was doing the Al Kesh, in fact I said I would not be promsing anything for now beyond being willing to look at and possible tweak the meshes to make sure they were ok and then convert it to any desired format.
I can turn over the updated meshes and updated textures to anyone that has the time. They are presently in 3ds, but I can convert them to any common format and even most less common ones.

Okay everyone for those of you who don’t already know I am working on another Stargate scenario which is based on Apophis hearing of Ra’s downfall and coming to claim Abydos for his own. Here is the Scenario Description:

Soon after hearing of Ra's downfall on Abydos, Apophis has came to Abydos to claim it as his own. Luckily Daniel was able to use the gate to dial Earth and inform them of this. The gate has been moved deep into Abydonian territory to keep it protected. General Hammond has sent several teams to set up several camps across Abydos. Apophis has landed 2 Hatak Motherships and has several Death Gliders and Jaffa searching the planet. Your mission is to protect Abydos from Apophis' attack.

Map

A 130 x 130 map of complete desert. Apophis starts in the middle with one city. (This is the pyramid that the gate was kept in) The Abydonians have several cities to the north of this. Tau’ri starts with 7 cities spread across the map. 3 of which are near The Abydonians cties.

I can do both of these for you...no problem...they are half done from the SG-1 scenario...just add the new stuff you are using...

The LH I used for Gerak, isnt all there(notice that Alex appears in Foreign Advisor screen)

Why would there be a Humm Vee?...SGC doesnt een have access to them...they use Navigators(Lincoln) in the event that they need a car
I would suggest a "beast of burden" like Daniel found in the movie...(also Humm vees would be impossible to drive in the powdery sand)

Ra had Horus guards, Serpent guards didnt come out until the TV show...
until then the only other one was Apophisis' first prime, who took the head of a Jackyl(Anubis guards)

Abydos isnt 100% desert...there are many caves, suggesting mountains...
also there are cliffs(remember when they go back in time, there are a series of "rock shelves")

The humvee is in now for purposes to equal out forces. but it can/wil be changed

about the serpant guards this scen takes place pretty much after the movie and before the series. And since it is apophis i used serpant guard becaus eit is all that i was aware that he controlled. even though it looks more like an anubic warrior. I was unaware of the cliffs/rock ledges but now that u mention it i remember that episode. But caves idont rember any reference to them. but i will be sure to wathc again to notice.

remember when he draws in the sand and she acts all afraid,,,then she takes him to some cave and shows him the writings on the walls...

Also, remember where they parked the "gateship" time machine...It was in a crater, or along a short cliff face...

Roman, if you have conquests..Im finished the second Beta of the SG-1 Battle at Dakara Mod...I dont wanna upload it here yet, but I can send it to you if youd like to be a tester...

New in the Beta 2:

The Hatak...the Alkesh...DHD resource...improved unit stats...more balanced replicators...Capturable Stargates(in theory...I havent been able to test this, cause I havent taken a city with a stargate yet...not as easy as it sounds)

please post links to all your SG work here, so I can work it in(if applicable...Im not using the Naq. Generator, as its not in the game yet...when I add it, I will use your Icon, but if you could make it an improvement(lrg/sml, + pcx pics) I could add it easier)

Yeah...Im trying to get the people who have started SG units to finish (Bhiita is back again, and said he wants to finish the Jaffa)...Also Im trying to get the rest of the ships made...or at least some...

either way, I have enough stuffs to make a Tau'ri vs Goa'uld type MOD...since neither humans, sor Goa'uld invented any of the technical stuff they have, it should be easy...

I'll make it with available units, which means I will only be able to use civs which have decent stand-in units...like the Tollans, Tok'hra etc...

since Atlantis galaxy hasnt been explored fully, we have a little room to play with accuracy...also the Lucian alliance in its "fledgling" phase, just before the fall of the goa'uld(assuming they didnt form overnight)...Ori units might be findable, but hard to impliment Ori into civ terms...also it should be easy to add a "rebel jaffa" civ...
