Its lucky i keep all three patches (1.15, 1.22 and 1.20) in a folder on my desktop just in case of this sort of thing.

Ok I just got news from Dogboy the sav should be at Warlord Sam as of about 30 seconds before I posted this. Superslug it should be coming to you soonish I guess.

I just got home and played it and sent it to Warlord Sam. It hasn't been held up with me as I play for 30 minutes in the morning and about 2-3 hours every night playing my games.

Wow thats a lot of games Dogboy. I'm only playing 3 at the moment and I'm comfortable with that. I check mornings or evening depending on my schedules. But I ussually leave the Internet on for 4 hours at a piece so 2+ rotations often pass through me in that time. The small games are good for that.

I'm currently involved in 23 active games. Most of my games take about 2 minutes to load, play, and send. A few of my games take 30 minutes. One game takes almost an hour to play. Sometimes I wish I had more games to play, sometimes I feel rushed for time. My wife thinks I play way too much :)

Pfft, if we're a university we ought to have *good* internet. Warlord Sam's internet still isn't working but his email is. He mentioned to me that he was thinking about dropping out of the game because of the situation, but I urged him he shouldn't since he can receive/send the file (that I would post for him). He wants to keep playing, but was mainly concerned what everyone else would think of this. Is it okay with everyone that he can play but not post for the time being?

Yeah, he mentioned the situation was improving. He might actually be back online before the game resumes since Oblivions on vacation. We might get held up longer, even. I'm on the road at least three days of Labor Day weekend, I'm not sure if the file will get to me before I leave.

Remember way back when one of us was accused in another game about cheating/hacking? I found this thread and as I recall, this is *exactly* what happened. I bet the person (I forget which of us it was) had simply used the "goto" command, and that's what happened. Wanted to post this so that he/she would have a sense of closure about the situation, because I recall that it got pretty heated.

Played and sent. I was having some graphical problems from where I tried to have two installs, so I reinstalled and patched 1.20 first and will now apply 1.22 update.

I'll just be doing the upgrade/downgrade route, I think. Having two installations just gave me a world of trouble, and now I have an installation that is not registered in the Add/Remove Programs directory, but its no biggy since I was planning on doing a reformat within a few months anyhoo...

Warlord_Sam this is how I did my dual install:

1 rename your civilization/conquests folder something else, like c3c or something
2. then, uninstall civ from add/remove programslist
3. then, install conquests again into the default directory, and install whatever patch u need
4.the patches will affect the new installation becoz the pc thinks the other installation isnt there anymore.

Fanste showed me how to do it, maybe it'll help you too.

superslug, That's ok for 3 weeks. I don't mine you have been a very committed player plus Dogboy has had hardware problems and won't be playing for several days anyway. Almost makes you wish Civ was on console at least there'd me less hardware problems :) Anyway heres the message I received from Dogboy below.

Hello to everyone. If you are getting this it's because you are involved in
one or more of my PBEM games. The reason you haven't been getting any games
from me is because my computer is down. For some reason my computer keeps
rebooting. Right before it gets to the windows desktop, I get the "blue screen
of death" for a microsecond and then the computer reboots. I called 1-800-
geeksquad and they tried to help me but were unable. I have taken my computer
in to get all my important files backed up before I format my hard drive and
reinstall Windows XP. Best case scenario is my hard drive was not affected and
I don't lose everything. Worse case scenario is my hard drive is bad and I
have lost all my pictures, important files, etc... Bottom line is I won't have
my computer for another 4-5 days, and then I have to reinstall all my programs
and get all the current XP updates. I don't think I will be back online before
the weekend of Sep 24, but hopefully I will be on sooner.

Since I don't have my computer I don't have access to my address book so I know
I left some people off. I had to type these e-mail addresses in from memory.

To all: I finally got my computer up and running. It had a problem that made the computer constantly reboot and there was nothing I could do. I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP. I am currently downloading all patches, drivers, and reinstalling all my programs. I should be able to play again real soon. Thanks for being patient.

Ok my issues seem to be resolved hopefully Warlord_Sam can get the newest sav to you superslug so you can forward it to me.

My computer has been having problems, not sure if its a virus or what but I haven't been able to identify it from various virus scans and my Norton Antivirus, nor has it been picked up on my AdAware. Regardless, it has been screwing up all the programs on my system, everything from games to outlook express, microsoft word, and Winamp. Civ3 was also hit by this, and I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but had the same weird problems and errors, so I don't think I'll be able to play for a few weeks... I have a new computer already on the way (thank God for the timing on that) and it literally is *in the mail*, so I'll try my best to get the .sav passed on as soon as I can once I get it. Sorry for the trouble and extremely long time since my last post, I've just been having so much trouble with my computer that I forgot all about the PBEM game.

1) Warlord Sam appears to be having extended computer problems
2) Rochinante has some personal issues he has to deal with and may not return
3) Oblivion may have disappeared I havn't seen a post or email from him in ages

I thank all who have participated in this game reliably and I very much hope to play with you guys again. I won't be creating another game in the near future or certainly never of size above 4 or 5 (this game proved impossible to keep going :( ) but if anyone else is starting a new game, please do invite me as I don't check the pbem forum often.
