This will be a 4 person PBEM between myself, Strider, gormdragan, and Sir Bugsy. It will also have 4 AIs and will be played 2vs2.

-------------------------------------------------------------
World- Standard (??)
Barbs- Raging or Random?

All victory conditions ON, except Wonder.
Culturally linked- OFF
Respawn- OFF
Allow cultural conversions- ON
Regicide/Mass Regicide- ??? (my vote is off, but up to you guys)

Difficulty- Emperor, More Aggressive (??)

Everything not mentioned will be random, including the AIs & our Civs.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the important part, I put our 4 names into a hat and randomly pulled two out.

The names I drew were: Strider and................................ Bugs. So the teams will be gorm & I VS Bugsy & Strider!

I also dropped the names back into the hat & picked out the order: I drew myself first, so I'll take the leadoff spot. I then pulled gorms name out so it would go A B A B, and pulled Bugsy. Hence the order will go Me, Bugsy, gorm, Strider. This will prevent a team from launching a simultaneous attack without at least one of the other team getting a chance to counter.

In the interest of keeping it a true alliance once an individual achieves victory it's a team win, they don't have to fight it out amongst themselves. This is because I for one, know that if my team started razing a bunch of cities....... I'd turn on my teamate real quick. This also allows us to go for UN or Space race if it comes to that, and your P will help you rather then start sabotaging your production. If one team is wiped out- game over.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Now with all bugs/MP problems we have to decide on an exploit list. I'll turn to strider to help out with this one cause he has ALL the MP exp in this group:lol:, but off the top of my head:

*If it's questionable, or you wouldn't do it in a SG game don't do it.

*If it's listed in the Conquests bug forum....... don't do it.(bombard anywhere, veiw whole map, ect ect)

*No trading off workers/artillery.

*Absolutely no contact between partners until actual contact in the
game, no revealing maps to each other unt Nav. (saying after contact "hey. strider is to the north of you."- is ok. Saying "Strider is 18 tiles north of you and you have gems between you two so you better get up there."- is not.)

*Palace jump/Wonder-pre building- Need to be clarified, entirely up to you guys. I'm leaning towards no jumps & prebuilds are ok, but I'll go with whatever. Just as long as we're all on the same page.

*All scroll ahead is obviously out(doesn't even need to be said).

*Recourses denial- (planting a unit on a human opponents resource for denial purposes) I'm not sure about this one. Do to inter- MP diplomacy two human players lack the ability to say "Remove or declare war". This could be a strategy, but the problem arises if there's an ongoing deal between the 2 civs, since you'd be forced to declare war to get him off your resource. I have no idea how the AI reacts to human to human deals getting broken. -- I'd vote no, unless the AI doesn't hold the rep breach against you.

*Ship Chaining- Up to you guys.........??

*Same turn scroll ahead- (Using the Big picture/next city buttons to change to a Wonder/Improvement/Unit and build it on the same turn as the tech was researched instead of the next). ---Again, I'll leave it up to you guys?? But my opinion definitely hangs towards all "Big Pictures/Next City" are out, just pretend those buttons don't exist.

*Fake Peace treaties- Out, you make peace you have to keep it for 20 turns.

That's everything I can come up with off the top of my head. I have no problem with allowing anything & everything or nothing at all, just as long as we all know what's fair game & what's not.

Strider this is definitely your territory cause you know what's game breaking in MP.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Questions? Comments?? I forget anything???

And I'm assuming we'll be using CQC 1.15?

I'd like to agree on parameters, and start the game on Friday. Thursday night would be even nicer, but we'll see how everything goes.

Any discussion on team strategy b4 the game or is there no communication until actual contact.

Also, do we need to declare on the opposite team once we found them?

Can we pick our civilisation? or is that going to be random?

Sir Bugsy
Feb 19, 2004, 10:03 AM
I'd say

1. no communication until actual contact.

2. no palace jumps in the spirit of the new GotM rules. If it is for a new core...OK Putting your capitol in Hawaii and your core in Europe...no can do.

3. no ship chaining - Marines and Army guys would never do that in real life.

4. I like the RBCiv rules on scroll ahead. You can scroll ahead when you get a new technology or when you are rioting.

Start whenever you want. The sooner the better.

How will we send the game? e-mail? post here?

I guess we need the expert to guide us here.

Edit: Are we going to set up a chat room?

Strider
Feb 19, 2004, 04:59 PM
Sounds nice, I (personally) don't care about the settings, just as long as it's a randomly generated map.

I vote no. No discussing of ANY strategy until contact, no saying what you're researching, where you are, long term gameplan, ect.

No. Make wars whenever you want, just make sure your teamate is ready for war as well. Hell, If I declare war on bugsy, neither you nor Stider HAS to get involved if it would benifit the team more not too. Total flexibility.

Random.

Everyone post your email here so we can mail saves. I'll start up the map once we get at least bugsy's mail down.

Mine's RogueNinja23@aol.com

Sir Bugsy
Feb 19, 2004, 05:26 PM
I'll e-mail you mine. I'd prefer to not post it.

Gengis of the glorious Egyptians begins life dressed in a very bright yellow color.

He immediatly laughs off his advisors opinions that this will make it impossible to sneak up on enemies, instead donning the robe gaudy robe & crown with pride. "Let my enemies see our troops marching in, so they have time to relize their plight and sacrifice themselves with horor before we arrive at the gate!"

[Sent to bugsy, needless to say I drew a short straw in this one. I won't ruin what Civ everyone has & let everyone find out for themselves.:D]

Strider
Feb 19, 2004, 10:30 PM
Just send mine to andy11_7@yahoo.com

Strider
Feb 20, 2004, 03:42 PM
Where is the save? I've not received it yet, also genghis would you mind telling us what you set the settings as (exactly?)

Sir Bugsy
Feb 20, 2004, 03:48 PM
Gengis, e-mailed me the save but it was corrupt. I requested that he send it to me again zipped.

I think gengis will look very cute in his industrial age bonnet. :D

Ok

Also, is that a hint to his civ?

Another question... the thread title is the "Crash of the Titans" uh,are we all really THAT good?

Sir Bugsy
Feb 20, 2004, 04:38 PM
I know I don't qualify as a "Titan" I think he was referring to himself.

I think "Crash" v. "Clash" is probably much better.

I wish we could send our own messages at the bargaining table. I could just see it now:

Bugs: "Gengis, that is a lovely bonnet, would you care to trade Steam for Medicine."

Gengis: "Why certainly, BTW that is a very fashionable dress you have."

Sir Bugsy
Feb 21, 2004, 02:17 AM
Gengis, can you post it here?

gormdragan
Feb 21, 2004, 07:32 AM
BTW, did you receive me email Budsy?

FYI, it's gormdragan@hotmail.com

Gengis Khan
Feb 21, 2004, 09:05 AM
Sorry for the delay compadres

Strider, no were' not. I was just running out of ideas for titles. I think the titans will turn out to be the AIs while we squable back & forth with swordmen.;)

And NO making fun of my bonnet!!

Here's the save (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/EPIC1.SAV), I pray it works.

---------------------
Exact settings(as far as I remember:crazyeye: )

Map, ect: random.
Victory: dom, conq, diplo, culture, space.
4 Random AI's
Random barbs
NOT linked culture.
Preserve random seed.
Culture flips ON.

That's pretty much it, i believe.

Sir Bugsy
Feb 21, 2004, 10:26 AM
I''l play and e-mail to gorm soon.

Gengis Khan
Feb 21, 2004, 10:29 AM
does that mean it worked?

Sir Bugsy
Feb 21, 2004, 10:43 AM
Spoke too soon

I get seven of these:
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/Epic_1_error.jpg

Then this:
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/Epic_1_error_2.jpg

GK, you might have to restart. Could you make sure your save is working right now. If it does load up. Please load it into a zip file.

If it doesn't work, maybe you don't have to wear the bonnet. :D

Gengis Khan
Feb 21, 2004, 11:07 AM
I could load it fine, I quit when I saw the "enter a password for Sir Bugsy", so as to not see your location.

I'm assuming you've got 1.15, right?

Sir Bugsy
Feb 21, 2004, 11:11 AM
Yes, 1.15. I think something is getting corrupted.

Gengis Khan
Feb 21, 2004, 11:31 AM
Hmm, what do you recommend? Start over?

Strider
Feb 21, 2004, 11:36 AM
I would say start over...

Gengis Khan
Feb 21, 2004, 11:42 AM
Ok, I'll load the first save here in case my mail had something to do with messing it up.

Gengis Khan
Feb 21, 2004, 02:24 PM
Back from the bar, sorry guys. The good news is Carolina won though!:D

Setting up this game I think I know what the problem is, I left the AI's set as Open instead of putting them on computer. Hopefully that was it.

Sent, I'm digging this Civ alot more then then Egypt.

Strider
Feb 21, 2004, 03:03 PM
Also, before the game starts, let me make a simple no-no. DO NOT load the save straight from a normal game (no human players).

This will let you into another players game without a password.

Gengis Khan
Feb 21, 2004, 03:17 PM
I don't think that will be a problem, that would take the fun out of it.

Hate to tell ya, strider, your records definatly not safe.;)

It hasn't been safe 47 times ;), but that still doesn't mean anyone is going to beat me.

Gengis Khan
Feb 22, 2004, 03:26 PM

Sir Bugsy
Feb 22, 2004, 05:26 PM
I need to get another e-mail so I can get these at home. I'll set up a hotmail account. If you can post it here tonight I'll play it, if not I'll pick it up at work tomorrow.

Gengis Khan

save (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/EPIC1.SAV)

Strider
Feb 23, 2004, 03:59 PM
I've still seen no sight of this game, who has it?

Sir Bugsy
Feb 23, 2004, 04:08 PM
I still have it. Gengis and I have been going back and forth. I am still having troubles.

BTW, I got a new e-mail: sirbugsy@mail.com

Just to make sure I'm not crazy.

1. I load up my 1.15 version of C3C
2. I press "Load Game"
3. Select "Epic1.sav"

And that should load...right? I tried the Multiplayer selection and that just allows me to set up a game. Hopefully there is something I'm missing and I'm just being a newbie dope.

Is there any options I need to change? As soon as I get a moment in this hectic Monday, I'm going to reload my Civ and C3C from scratch, patch it and try again.

Gengis Khan
Feb 23, 2004, 04:11 PM
Yea, after you do that you should be a black screen with a bar asking for you to "Input Bugsy's password".

Don't know what's up with it not loading.

gormdragan
Feb 23, 2004, 06:14 PM
Guys...I am leaving tomorrow. So I think we need to either postpone this game, or get a replacement player. Sorry.

Sir Bugsy
Feb 23, 2004, 06:16 PM
If I didn't have such a hard time making this work, we could have had 10 turns played. Sorry gents.

gormdragan
Feb 24, 2004, 06:48 AM

Gengis Khan
Feb 24, 2004, 02:52 PM

Sir Bugsy
Feb 24, 2004, 04:00 PM
Well, that's not looking very promising

Sir Bugsy
Feb 25, 2004, 03:01 PM
The reloads worked. You are now talking to Bugsy of the Chinese. I'm e-mailing to gorm, bu it may be a few weeks.

Gengis Khan
Feb 25, 2004, 03:14 PM
:D Good news indeed! Gengis of the Germans salutes you, may many of your Chinese brothers fall before their German superiors.

Strider
Feb 25, 2004, 03:37 PM

Gengis Khan
Feb 25, 2004, 03:41 PM

Sir Bugsy
Feb 26, 2004, 02:41 PM

Strider
Feb 26, 2004, 04:00 PM
Certainly, will do!

gormdragan
Mar 26, 2004, 02:24 AM
