this is generally meant to be about war, but can be about peacetime as well.

please do it in this format, but you can add more comments if you want. (don't worry i'm easy going :D)

these can be short or long, and if you have a screenshot one would be great.
i'll start.

scenerio: World War Three 2015 for conquests by Muffins
difficulty level: monarch
civ: Muslim Nationalist Alliance

scenerio description: well done (IMHO) scenerio set in 2015. The Muslims united (except for indonesia), India and China were set to become world powers (perhaps China already was one), Africa united, EU became one country, Latin America united (perhaps not so realistic, but very fun. I had a locked alliance with China. I'm now in January, 2019

extent of disadvantage:verrrry large disadvantage. I had not had any modern techs, but now i have rocketry, computers, ecology, stealth, synthetic fibers and fission coming in 6 turns. No rubber, but got it by trading. The EU, America, Iraq, Iran, Israel were all very close but i overcame them eventually.

How you cameback/strategies used: I had to trade to get rubber. I started out with a few tanks, perhaps enough to conquer small countries but not alot. I tried to plant spies in Jerusalem, and Israel, Japan, USA, and there was another country (I think) declared war on me. China sided with me, I brought in the EU, and with my tanks and suicidal men i conquered israel on my first turn. I ended up conquering most of Iran (Teheran was conquered by EU) and conquered Iraq. EU took care of America's troops, they were too advanced. I traded with Africa for rubber, of which I had none, then, I built tanks. But i needed modern armor & mech infantry. So i set science rate to 100% and I lost much gold but I never would have gotten the technology any other way (and survived) so this was my only option. I did, however, lose an improvement every turn. eventually i started building modern armors and mechs, and that's when i started coming back.

how far I got: then I conquered turkish cities from the EU. I pushed all the way to kiev, warsaw, berlin, prague, bucharest, sofia, istanbul, erzurum and ankara. I took them all. Later the Russians declared war on me, and I couldn't fight a two front war. I took minsk, and gave Berlin to the Europeans in order for peace (it was a hard choice). Then the Russians razed Berlin, because of a lot of MPPs which set most of the world at war with itself. I razed moscow in retaliation for the razing of berlin (sure the EU were my enemies, but so? It was a semi good excuse). After being forced into war with India (several times,) as China took Delhi, Calcutta, Hyderbad, Dacca, Madras, Madurai, & Bangalore I took Ahmadabad, Vadadora and Bombay, defeating the Indians. (one less future world power! I must hunt down more! :scan: ). You have to understand though, that this was after I had lost rubber I had been trading from Singapore after being forced into a war (I got rubber from them after the Africans stopped trading with me) and this was my last stand. Even though I had negotiated peace in europe, my troops were stretched very, very thin. If I lost here, I would lose my empire (that's why the 3:00 am savegame is named "the end in sight?"). Luckily after one turn of waiting in Vadadora, i conquered India. I saved my empire. I used my ROP with China to attack Singapore and secure a source of rubber, which i finally did! now all I have to do is conquer the world. YAY!

setbacks: i lost rubber a few times, and after an ill-fated, half-hearted african campaign, i was in danger. but i eventually got my rubber and saved my nation

lesson learned: If you start taking a city, throw everything you got at it, even if this means throwing mechs at mechs. but attack with best units first, and if you're FAR behind in tech and no one will trade with you, you WILL have to lose gold to get the tech quickly.
