Used to be the only game I played. for hours upon hours. I was on the ranking scheme, and the highest rank I ever got was around 300 out of 100000+.

Yes it was a great game. My tatics generally consisted of huge amounts of GIs and air bombardment. Very simple, but effective. I also used IFVs to defend my airspace whenever I heard the dreaded 'Kirov Reporting'

I normally used dozens of Patriots for air defense.

I liked to do the old rushing tactic with the Soviets. Build a war miner or 2, then rush em with around 5 rhinos.

i still play it and love it :D

loads of rocketeers AND patriots work best for air defence, ive seen my brother take down fleets of kirovs like that.

I just recently go it!:D Saw a shelf of old gamesl, heard good things about the Command and Conquer series, and got it. So far, it's good!:goodjob: I like using tanks. Tanks and Rocketeers. My strategy? Just basically rush them with said units.

Rocketeers rushes almost never work however in MP and almost always cost the user the game.

Masses of prism tanks. Nuff said.

This game is awesome, with the Soviets I build cloning vats, and start pumping out and immense amount of concripts, stop when i have somewhere around 500 of them and attack. unless they have some of the most impressive defenses ever or they have alot of air units, their toast.
This Tactic takes time pacionce and some cash, but it works.

If plaing as the allies and there is a bridge seporating you and your enemy, fill it up with deployed GI's and you can hold it against an enemy pretty good

GI's? Pft, nothing a couple of desolators cant take care of

I bet this will work its way into Bush's speech.

" Iraq must be taken out. It has desolators and can liquidate our units. But dont fear! We will just send rocketeers who are not affected by the radiation to killl them! Or Aircraft Carriers, assisted by dolphins to take them out"

:)

I love using hordes of Conscripts to rush.

Bah, the British sniper will kill any and all Desolators without spilling his tea.

The dolphins were the dumbest unit, IMO.

Harrier strikes always got my blood going.

Fun to watch squids and dolhpins battle it out. :)

I neversaid it was a rocketeer rush, i said rocketeers and patriots for base defence.

prism tanks and mirage tanks would be better for the rush, a few elite prisms and the base crumbles.

i liked useing aircraft carriers as allies and as well using the chronoshift as a weapon by transporting land troops in to the water :D

Have C&C2. Played it. Fun for a while but the AI is just too lacking (just reveal their intended paths and you'll see all those lines converging a on a single spot) --really no tactics to speak of. A fun trick is to find a chock point where the AI is set to pass through and place those steel airship units (can't remember the name) over that area and set them to bombard ground. It's hilarious to see the AI send hordes of units only to be pulverized as the all try to get though the tiny gap!
Never played it in MP so can't comment on human vs. human play.

I'm just more into realistic games. Would love to see C&C using actually existing units: no sci-fi units. C&C:Generals is sort of like that but the graphics would deep-fry most systems so it's not worth buying unless you want to get a migrane from trying to adapt your vision to 5fps!

It really irritates me that the Allies get Harriers but the Soviets get the stupid blimp. What happened to the MiG?

I have Generals but it is really slow, so I have played RA2 online for a 2 years + now (not recently) though).

I like Red Alert 2, I downloaded it cause I thought the idea of suicidal cows, dolphins and giant squid just plain dumb so I downloaded ;) but I've been trying to find it so I can buy it. Played through and thought it was great but I prefer Red Alert 1 to Red Alert 2. A perfect game would be all the interesting stuff from Red Alert2(men fortifing buildings, GIs making pillboxes, and those neat things like the specific national units) along with the new graphics mixed in with all the wonderfull units from Red Alert1(Mig, Flak Guns, and so forth)

That would be cool.

I agree with Esckey. That would be really cool.:sniper:
