View Full Version : Turkish Infantrymen
Straczynski Feb 25, 2004, 05:16 PM (Previews here!) (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=79185)
So here's my Crimean War Turkish Infantry. Just a copy and pasting on Smoking Mirror's Rifleman (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31890) to give him a fez hat, and a bit of pallete-messing.
The zip includes five animations: run, default, fortify, death and attack. I didn't make a victory flic, since there wasn't one on Mirror's unit. Neither there's a fidget animation, as it looked too much like the fortify one. The sounds from the original unit are on the zip, together with some really ugly pedia icons I made. :D

Also, I haven't tested it ingame, so, if there's any problem, let me know!

spincrus Feb 25, 2004, 09:20 PM It's lovely! What I've been waiting for, for a LOOOONG time already :worship:
So sad to see such an important civ being left out by modders. It's unbelievable!

And now... I've already posted this on the Stromod Preview thread, but since not everyone reads preview threads, let me explain here why I'll be missing from here for a few weeks:
My university is going to start this monday. It's on another town, Bauru, on countryside São Paulo, and I'll be moving to there tomorrow. Anyway, I'm not sure on exactly when I'll have access to a computer (I mean, a computer of my own... I'm not sure if they'll allow me to install Civ on the university's computers. :D), so you probably won't see me for a few weeks.
But don't worry. I'll be back. :)
Vuldacon Feb 26, 2004, 04:25 PM From the Previews, it looks like you did a Good Job on the Copy/Paste and palette work. A needed and very usuable Unit Straczynski...Thanks.

If your still motivated about cut'n pasting turkish units have you thought about sticking a rifleman and/or infantryman's torso on the immortal's legs (and adding a fez). I was messing with it but couldnt pull it off (and got sidetracked trying to to do graphics adjustments to the AoK cataphract)
R8XFT Feb 26, 2004, 11:10 PM Thanks for the unit, it's really nice! :goodjob:
Good luck at Uni. It's a unique time, make the most of it!! :)

Well, I haven't thought of it, but if you get me a picture of this guy, I may do it as soon as I get the computer! :D

Congratulations...
:D
Der PH Mar 09, 2004, 07:06 AM A very nice unit.
I'd like to use it as a flavor unit for the middle-eastern civs, but it has very little civ-specific colour, so it's nationality is quite hard to spot.
Would it be much work to make the jacket civ-specific (as it is in Smoking Mirror's)?
