I agree with illusion13. greece is by far the best civ in the game. It has a great UU that is upgradeable all the way to mech infantry. It's scientific and commercial-the two best qualities. It has lower corruption and u get free science techs. What more could you want??

How about not suckiness?

Greeks are so bad. UU is boring, leader looks goofy and stupid, and the commercial trait is a barely noticible nudge against corruption. Far better are nations like: Germans (Mil&Sci), Carthaginians (Sea&Ind), and Byzantines (Sea&Sci) with the ultimate naval special, the Dromon (only lethal naval bombard... period).

Give up your tired, your hungry, your downtrodden, your worthless Greeks!

hahaha ... the worthless Greek civ can dominate the world from the start of the game ... But you propably don't know how to play and even more you don't know history ... :scan:

P.S. I have never fought the german UU , I don't even know what is it ... Panzer ? They never make it so far against me ...:king:
P.S.* Every leader looks goofy and ugly , except Theodora : That's because civ must be also funny .

yeah, i'm right with you, Vasileius- i'm a big fan of the greeks, and the koreans too for the same reason, although the hwaa'chas are a little less useful than the hoplites imho- they have a pretty funky animation, though! alexander has definitely carried me through more than one emperor victory.

but i think Aeon221 may be onto something with the seafaring civs: i'm playing the byzantines in my first real deity game right now, on a huge archipeligo map, and seafaring is almost as good as commercial as a trait (extra gold in coastal cities, which is how most cities are on archipeligo maps, and i'll admit i never really notice the anti-corruption effect...) and having the extra naval move is more advantageous on island maps than is the expansionist trait, and starting with alphabet is a pretty nice boost in not getting left behind in initial ancient era trading at the higher levels! I think I have a decent chance of pulling off my first deity win with them, and i won't even have to micromanage a zillion cities like on the huge pangea maps!

i don't know about the germans though- my greek cavalry have usually had the german army for lunch by the beginning of the industrial era!:king:

I love playing the Greeks because it is enough for me only to see the glorius Hoplites and all those city-names that were states on their own. Hoplites get outdated only after musketmen are available. I almost never had financial trouble while playing Greece.

I'm about to start a new Story Game, as my last story savegame was lost as I had PC problems and needed to reformat..

I've never played as the Greeks before, sounds interesting to give them a shot :)

I was just wondering about taking notes/screenies for the story. How do you all handle this?

Can you run the game in window mode? I haven't seen the ability to do this. So how do you do it? Paper notes? Or exit the game every so often to save screenshots and write etc?

More than likely, they open Notepad and an imaging program (such as Ifranview) before launching, and then alt-tab back and forth between the game and the other applications. That's what I do, anyway. :)
