I just installed civ3 gold and conquests with the conquest beta patch and i have the following problem : when i click '' Preferences'' it bring me to ''Conquests'' and when I click ''Credits'' it bring me to ''Multiplayer'' , ETC. Plus, there is 2 bizarre lines written at the bottom, one being the exit button. Somebody help me please.

I have the same problem...it's so irritating, ive tried everything, reinstalling everything, and it doesnt work.
Would those two bizarre lines be

Princess of $CIV0 rescued in $DATE1
$CIVNOUN0 $<0:picks:pick> up a princess in $DATE1

I found them in the labels file in the text folder, and it's as if two lines are missing from the file. Plz Help
