View Full Version : ASPI Drivers? cgannon64 Mar 03, 2004, 07:47 PM Apparently I had them but now I don't and I can't copy CDs to my computer now. EDIT: Or play Civ3!!! Help! Plexus Mar 03, 2004, 08:07 PM ftp://ftp.nero.com/wnaspi32.dll cgannon64 Mar 03, 2004, 08:30 PM Thanks. Now I can get back to listening to legal music. I was stranded without it! ;) cgannon64 Mar 07, 2004, 04:59 PM *BUMP* I finally got around to downloaded that...but what do I do with it? Comraddict Mar 07, 2004, 05:11 PM maybe put in system32 and/or nero directory ainwood Mar 07, 2004, 05:17 PM And if you put it in the system directory (Assume that its c:\windows\system32\ ) 1.) Click start 2.) Select 'run' 3.) type in: regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\wnaspi32.dll 4.) hit enter. You should then get a message that the DLL has been successfully registered. :) cgannon64 Mar 10, 2004, 08:36 PM "winaspi32.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. DllRegister may not be exported, or a corrupt version of C:\windows\system32.wnaspi.dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it." Hmm, if I read this computer gibberish right, I still have my old, corrupt ASPI driver and I must delete it? Or am I wrong? ainwood Mar 11, 2004, 03:04 AM you can unload the old version by tyuping: regsvr32.exe /u c:\windows\system32\wnaspi32.dll (note the /u for 'unregister) Do that, delete the dll file, copy the new-one in, and run the regsvr32 again. Good luck! cgannon64 Mar 12, 2004, 09:20 PM I got the same error message. :hmm: cgannon64 Mar 17, 2004, 07:27 PM Bump. I got a stack of CDs here waiting to be copied to my computer. cgannon64 Mar 28, 2004, 12:25 PM Bump again. I have so many CDs I want to put on my computer... Another option would be to copy them to the laptop - but how can I get them onto the PC if I can't email or put them on a floppy (too big)? FireBall Mar 28, 2004, 02:56 PM Hmm Sorry, an't help you much, but have you tried putting the CDs on computer via Windows Media Player... If you want to put them onto the laptop, then copy them, get some Ehternet cable and link up the two computers, if you don't have an ethernet jack, you can buy a cheap card for about $25. Then, set up a network using Windows,m should take you about 5 mins, and simply copy the files... Alternatively, you can buy a USB Key/Card/Storage Device/Thingie and move them that way, though that would take a long while... cgannon64 Mar 28, 2004, 05:22 PM EDIT: Problem solved. Apparently MusicMatch doesn't need the driver or replaced it or something; either way, its working perfectly. :) cgannon64 Jun 25, 2004, 06:48 PM BUMP. I haven't tried to play Civ3 in a while, or any computer games in fact, and now I see I can't play them without this file. WTF? Ankka Jul 17, 2004, 02:08 PM Reinstall your OS. cgannon64 Jul 17, 2004, 02:20 PM I've been considering doing that for a while now, because its extremely unstable, but it doesn't have popular support in the household. ;) Ankka Jul 18, 2004, 11:12 AM Just copy all the files to CD's and then reinstall and don't tell/ask them. ;) |
