Ok, here's the problem. CivIII:Conquests just won't work right on my computer. I used to have it on my computer, but I restored it to factory condition. While I still had it working it was on Windows 98. Now I put WinXP on and installed C3C, but it won't work(yes, I installed CivII first). I tried using the compadibility thing on it, but when I switch it to Win98 or any other setting it just doesn't start. Without the compadibility on and I start the game, it starts fine, then when the main menu comes up, my monitor decides to turn off. When I trun on the monitor on and off I see a short glimpse of the menu, but the monitor just turns right off. What do I do now?

I'm sure things like this have been posted (that's half the reason this is the first place I went) and I hope someone has experienced this to so they can give me some advice. Well thanks in advance.

Turned out the driver for the video card wasn't working. In fact it couldn't even give me 1024X786 pixel (or whatever it was). Downloaded a new driver and it is fine. I still wonder why the driver was worse on Xp then it was on 98, maybe I lost it on the restoring process, who knows. Well Hope this at least helped someone.
