Mobilize Sep 22, 2004, 06:56 PM Very nice! :goodjob: You even made a red version and made different sizes. Can't wait to use it. Aluminium Sep 22, 2004, 07:08 PM Thank you! :thanx: There was a wrong link to the 'Normal / Small'. But fixed now. Sword_Of_Geddon Sep 24, 2004, 10:21 AM In my expierence, DP's units don't look that great with their clothing in civ-color, but to each his own I suppose. Dom Pedro II Sep 24, 2004, 10:46 AM In my expierence, DP's units don't look that great with their clothing in civ-color, but to each his own I suppose. That's not because of the unit itself, it's because I'm a lousy palette editor... :p Sword_Of_Geddon Sep 24, 2004, 06:14 PM The man to go for Palette advice is Vuldacon...he used to be a professional artist. You are still talented when it comes to unit making though, despite your color problems. I like your Anubis Knight(I use both yours and Kinboats in my mod...hehe), Aluminium Sep 24, 2004, 11:24 PM The palettes of Dom's newer units are OK. Dom Pedro II Sep 24, 2004, 11:34 PM The palettes of Dom's newer units are OK. Yes... I've gotten better... :) Sword_Of_Geddon Sep 25, 2004, 03:07 AM With the exception of the Hwarang....why does that guy have Frigate sounds referenced....its just...weird... :dubious: Dom Pedro II Sep 25, 2004, 10:22 AM With the exception of the Hwarang....why does that guy have Frigate sounds referenced....its just...weird... :dubious: It's probably because I took the first .ini file I could find, and it was probably some kind of ship and I forgot to change the sounds... Sword_Of_Geddon Sep 25, 2004, 12:56 PM I thought it was a joke... Anyway...what is your new avatar? Dom Pedro II Sep 25, 2004, 01:02 PM That's my Carthaginian War Elephant... :D Sword_Of_Geddon Sep 25, 2004, 01:27 PM Can't see most of the detail from that avatar unfortunately, but from your previews is was quite something. I think you should keep it really big like in your preview, maybe make it as big as Civ size will allow. I don't like seeing Elephants that are the same size as Civ-horses... :goodjob: Dom Pedro II Sep 25, 2004, 01:40 PM Yeah, it'll definitely be bigger than the horses, but I don't know about being the max size... I think Rhye and Aluminium would throw a fit... ;) Sword_Of_Geddon Sep 25, 2004, 05:09 PM How big is the max size by the way? I'd try to make the thing on the back smaller, and the elephant bigger(all the elephants could use this treatment by the way). A good size for War Elephants would be twice as big as your average Horse-mounted unit methinks. Dease Sep 25, 2004, 05:56 PM How big is the max size by the way? I'd try to make the thing on the back smaller, and the elephant bigger(all the elephants could use this treatment by the way). A good size for War Elephants would be twice as big as your average Horse-mounted unit methinks. errr.. the max size is 240x240 I attached a comparison between the civ3 elephant, and a simple elephant at max size  :wow:  This thing would cover ove 9 tiles probably! Dom Pedro II Sep 25, 2004, 06:23 PM Where did ya get the elephant, Dease? Dease Sep 25, 2004, 07:29 PM Where did ya get the elephant, Dease? Turbosquid It was a free model so I figured why not DL it ;) I could post it here if you want although it's a VERY low poly model (448 polygons) but the great texturing covers it up. (at civscale) Dom Pedro II Sep 25, 2004, 07:33 PM I have no use for it. Sword_Of_Geddon Sep 25, 2004, 10:14 PM Units can really be that big in game? Maybe I should convince Kinboat to make a new Spider unit that size.....Mhahahahaha! Rhye Dec 08, 2004, 01:17 PM pedro, is the image in the 1st page a photo of a terracotta soldier? ShiroKobbure Dec 08, 2004, 07:22 PM are the south east asia units going to be posted here? Dom Pedro II Dec 08, 2004, 09:00 PM pedro, is the image in the 1st page a photo of a terracotta soldier? I made that myself... it's not a photo. are the south east asia units going to be posted here? I've been debating about that... this thread is pretty cluttered, and actually, I want somebody to make a scenario of Southeast Asia (including everything from the southern most part of China, Burma, and Java), so I might make a special pack... dunno. Rhye Dec 09, 2004, 04:35 AM I made that myself... it's not a photo. But is it a terracotta soldier? It's really good and I'd like to use it in my mod instead of Rufus's splash, but it seems more marbled to me... I'll try to change some colours Dom Pedro II Dec 09, 2004, 06:28 AM But is it a terracotta soldier? It's really good and I'd like to use it in my mod instead of Rufus's splash, but it seems more marbled to me... I'll try to change some colours Well, it wasn't intended to be specifically when I made it. It's just a statue. But you can use it if you want. Manny Kant Dec 09, 2004, 07:54 PM Dom, since this came back to the front page...can I ask if there has been any progress on the Yak? I'm sure it isn't a pressing issue for anyone, but I have a friend who is longing for 1) more animals used by real civs and 2) something to use as a Salusan (sp?) Bull for his Dune game. Otherwise, these are great and I'm glad you have the time, skill, and inclination to make these for us. Dom Pedro II Dec 09, 2004, 08:14 PM The Yak was put on the back burner largely because 1) There was a lot of stuff I felt took priority, and 2) I didn't have any kind of a preset run animation for the model. But it'll get done. LouLong Dec 10, 2004, 02:42 AM Can you tell us what other civs will be represented in the the 2 empty posts (from your previous post, I guess one is Tibet) and if you plan on providing more units for already existing civs (I am especially interested in China). Dom Pedro II Dec 10, 2004, 08:18 AM Umm... well, actually, I just reserved a bunch of slots without really regard to which civs could go there... but I might be sticking Tibet and Southeast Asia in them since I'll have Thai, Burmese, Khmer, and Annamese units. Sword_Of_Geddon Dec 10, 2004, 11:40 AM Perfect for the mod....hehe REJS7 Jan 05, 2005, 03:30 PM wicked units, are you currently doing any more? |
