View Full Version : 4-Player Conquest
ironduck Aug 17, 2004, 07:17 PM Hmm.. fighting on land didn't work too well for me, if I remember correctly you completely forced me off the continent ;) I'm surprised by the Byzantine resilience!
This game has been a lot of fun for sure :)
portuga Aug 18, 2004, 04:53 PM Against the danes I had the advantage of having fast units and you did not :)
Unfortunately, the byzantines also have cavalry.
ironduck Aug 30, 2004, 09:12 AM Why, hello Jormanz.. stopping by for a cuppa? No longer welcome in the south?
portuga Aug 30, 2004, 09:38 AM Does this mean that my stack survived at least one turn this time? :)
ironduck Aug 30, 2004, 09:42 AM I think a few of them scrambled to hide in the bushes ;)
ironduck Aug 30, 2004, 05:45 PM Oh my! I see the sneaky Byzantines and Jormanz have once again decided to work their evil schemes against the gallant Vikings of the north. Landing the mighty Jorman forces on our shores once again while our royal fleet is occupied in the south.
However, it is much too late for your nefarious plots, the joint crusade of the gallant Vikings and the Noble french will punish and eradicate the Byzantine menace from this earth! We have simply waited until we could strike at the very heart of the Byzantine empire, and now we are ready, brace yourselves!
portuga Aug 31, 2004, 05:44 AM Well, It may be too late but at least I had the pleasure of successfully use an assassin to eliminate a dane king. Germany celebrates!!!
ironduck Aug 31, 2004, 09:42 AM The core of the Byzantine empire is ours! The remaining defenders were seen fleeing into the mountains or jumping into the sea. Our victory is complete! It must now be clear to one and all (even the pesky Jormanz) that the Danish-Frankish alliance is unbeatable! (Nice move with the assassin though, didn't see that coming)
Thanks for the game guys :goodjob: I'm well above 30,000 victory points so that should be it :)
Rocinante Aug 31, 2004, 11:41 AM All Hail the Conquering Danes!!!
ironduck Aug 31, 2004, 11:55 AM Yay! :king: :goodjob:
portuga Aug 31, 2004, 11:58 AM Congrats!!! You played the Danes very well.
Thank you all for this game. It was by far the most interesting game I ever played.
ironduck Aug 31, 2004, 12:05 PM These scenarios are a lot of fun :) It would have been good with a few more humans or stronger AI.. the AI was very weak, so it didn't make much of a difference.. More humans tend to slow the games down though.
Hope to play with you guys again later :)
deshelbr Aug 31, 2004, 12:10 PM Wow!! You finished it!! Congrats Ironduck.
ironduck Aug 31, 2004, 12:33 PM Thanks for starting this game deshelbr!
EliitMees Aug 31, 2004, 04:19 PM Congratulations ironduck!
And thank you all for the game. I was really enjoing it. Even though peaceful builders Byzantines had no chance to win ;)
ironduck Aug 31, 2004, 04:22 PM Peaceful? Whassat, attacking me unprovoked twice? ;)
ironduck Aug 31, 2004, 04:32 PM Btw, I was wondering now that the game is over.. How much of a real war was that between Jormanz and Byzantines? Very little progress seemed to be made and the Byzantine attacks on the French seemed half hearted from the reports I was getting.. I assumed the Jormanz badly wanted to bring their holy relic to Jerusalem, but did they ever launch a naval landing like they did with me?
portuga Aug 31, 2004, 06:34 PM The war with the byzantines was real almost until the end. Our forces where really matched. However I was expecting the danes to disembark so I never atacked byzantine with full forces. I had 20 knights in the coastal city that you did not raze.
around 10 turns from the end I realized that victory was achieved at 30000 points, so we made peace with byzantines, gave back their city and focossed on the dane front.
