View Full Version : Illuminated Keyboard
Russiophile Mar 11, 2004, 03:40 PM I've been wanting an illuminated keyboard for my computer (I like to game at night with the lights off). I bought one very much like this <http://www.jandr.com/JRProductPage.process?RestartFlow=t&Merchant_Id=1&Product_Code=ARV+S003-11&JRSource=google.datafeed.ARV+S003-11>
but didn't pay as much for it. The problem is, it's not a true, full-size keyboard (notice that the arrow keys are missing between the alphabet and the number keys). Being too small, it's hard to type (your fingers often miss the correct buttons). Also, the keyboard doesn't lend itself well to games such as Civ where a ctrl-shift combination is important. So, I'm looking for a true, full-size, illuminated keyboard. Problem is, I can't find one... not on newegg, not on CompUSA, not on eBay... etc.
If anyone can find a full-size, illuminated keyboard for sale on-line, I'd truly appreciate it.
Blasphemous Mar 11, 2004, 04:08 PM Actually, I was just looking at illuminated keyboards for my dear grandma, and we found a few nice deals by simply googling "illuminated keyboard". Try that.

if you were after that one.
and that's pretty much the only site i know for stuff like that.
Goober Mar 12, 2004, 01:08 AM SWEET!!! I gotta get me one of those. Now, I have a perfectly good keyboard (except for the Shifts, they sometimes tend to not Shift), but just for the sweetness value of that, i gotta get it . . .

Thanks, but it's not a full-size keyboard. The arrow keys are missing. Additionally, the design of that keyboard does not lend itself well to a ctrl-shift action. Hence, my dilemma.
SuperBeaverInc. Mar 12, 2004, 09:09 AM *drool* That is one sweet looking keyboard. That would be a lot of fun in the dark

Shift and Ctrl are in the normal spots and the arrows are there.

Goober Mar 13, 2004, 01:39 AM Ya, I am buying one of those. Anyone know of a Canadian retailer that would sell one? I am tired of this plain, boring, regular keyboard . . .

zulu9812 Mar 14, 2004, 04:31 AM One thing you should about the EluminX is that it sits flat on the desk - no flick-out tabs to prop it up
