View Full Version : Runescape
amadeus219 Mar 20, 2004, 02:02 PM This game is an online game. It has terrible graphics, but the game is great! As of the 18th you can play Runescape 2, which has bettter graphics, but it's only the beta. Anyway, Runescape is really good. If you want a better explanation and to play the game the go to www.runescape.com (http://www.runescape.com)
CivCube Mar 20, 2004, 02:23 PM I've tried it, it's OK. There are better games out there, though.
FireBall Mar 21, 2004, 12:15 AM It's all right, playable... Graphics are, as already mentioned.... terrible...
But it's playable, and quite fun sometimes... I think I'll stiick to NwN for now though, thanks... MU Online is also better if you can live with the lartimes.
Erik Mesoy Mar 21, 2004, 09:38 AM I've played it too. Try Puzzle Pirates instead, or any other online RPG.
amadeus219 Mar 21, 2004, 10:28 AM Puzzel Pirates looks interesting. I'll look into it. Thanks! Are there any other games like Runescape?
FireBall Mar 21, 2004, 07:14 PM Few of the games are free though, I think Puzzle Pirates charges a $10/month monthly fee... What made Runescape good was the fact that it was free to play.
CivCube Mar 21, 2004, 07:26 PM Not quite. I believe Runescape lets one play much of it for free but there's a price tag for the rest of it.
Neverwinter Nights lets you play online for free. :D
Gainy Mar 21, 2004, 07:31 PM Runescape is a horribly addictive game. I've spent god knows how many hours playing this, but gave up quite a while ago - thank god, i really did nothing else
You get most of the stuff in the free version anyway CivCube.

True enough, and the online play there is awesome...
However; NeverWinter Nights itself is not free to buy... Also, I wouldn't really say that playing NwN Online would qualify as an MMORPG (which RuneScape is), unless someone designed a specific module made for MMORPG-style play, and I dont think anyone has... I'd consider it more as playing a co-operative game, and all of the modules in NwN have endings, while most MMORPGs do not.
CivCube Mar 22, 2004, 04:13 PM Aren't there servers devoted to NWN-created worlds?
ybbor Apr 23, 2004, 10:50 AM long-dead thread, blah-blah-blah
don't revive dead threads, blah-blah-balh
just heard about this game from a friend, it's terribly addictive, and kinda fun, it works best if you have someone who can show you the ropes.
was gonna start a new thread on this, but decided to search and see if there was anything previously mentioned, turned out there was.

Yes, but few of hem serve as MMORPG worlds, where you can go and kill stuff forever... most of them have a main plot and whatnot, and aren't nearly as large as MMORPGs, making them more like being able to play your favourtie regular RPG online.
SuperBeaverInc. Apr 25, 2004, 12:27 PM Wow that is fun. Can anyone tell me what the people with skull and crossbones over their heads are?
Gainy Apr 25, 2004, 12:29 PM It means that they have attacked someone in the wilderness without provocation. It disappears after 10 mins IIRC.
Xi 12 Apr 25, 2004, 06:54 PM I was playing it today for the first time in months, and the graphics have really been inproved.
ybbor Apr 25, 2004, 07:49 PM i play nder "jud the fish" in case anyone's wondering.
a really convienent way to make $$$ fast is to go Al-Kharid and talk to the silk trader. buy as many silks as you can hold/afford for $3 . go north to Varrock and go to the shop with the green shirt symbol SW of the fountin. sell your silks there for 16 gold
Gainy Apr 26, 2004, 05:59 AM That doesn't really get you much money btw :p (relatively)
If you want to become rich, you need to be good at mining/Smithing. You mine the materials, smelt 'em into bars, and then smith into whatever your ability allows you.
Once you can make Steel Plate armour, you can sell it/them in the shops for 1200 Gp each, and some players will be willing to pay more than that for them. I made an absoloute killing out of it, and ended up with about 700000 - 800000gp (if I hadn't spent any of it)
My name on it is Gainy, but there's no point adding me, as I don't play it anymore :)
puglover Apr 29, 2004, 05:05 PM I am Gaiusknight. This game rocks! :D
Xi 12 Apr 29, 2004, 06:02 PM My name is Xi 12 on it, contact me if you have nothing better to do.
SuperBeaverInc. Apr 29, 2004, 08:11 PM I'm SuBI 83 if anyone really cares.
puglover Apr 30, 2004, 10:48 AM Hmm. Have you noticed that RuneScape can also be spelled RunEscape? ;)
SuperBeaverInc. Apr 30, 2004, 05:45 PM  Can't say I have ever noticed that
Lord Draegon May 01, 2004, 08:41 AM I joined about a week ago. Mostly Ive been mining and smithing, what I didnt need I sold. I was doing great, but then I died. I lost all my really good stuff. It's a prtty good game but there could be some slight improvements
Terrinix May 02, 2004, 10:05 AM I love runescape, in fact I just got off of it about an hour ago. My name is Terrinmaster, when I'm online I'll usually be fishing.
FireBall May 05, 2004, 04:09 PM I actually signed up.. twice... today, but every time I died trying to fightsome stupid fight and lost all my stuff because I couldn't find a bank to put it in :-(
puglover May 05, 2004, 06:01 PM I have 11 quest points! :D
Sheesh! Those stupid fickle goblins! Too bad you can't kill those annoying generals.

Sounds good, I usually fish for lobsters to make money. Anyone else have any ideas for better money making?
GenghisK May 05, 2004, 06:48 PM I used to play this game. It was getting quickly boring though so I switched to something else :) Mu Online, free too :)
Terrinix May 05, 2004, 06:49 PM MU online doesn't work for me *curses integrated video card*
puglover May 06, 2004, 06:52 PM Originally posted by Terrinix

Rescue Prince Ali and then dig up the Pirate Treasure.
SuperBeaverInc. May 06, 2004, 08:10 PM How do you rescue Ali?
Terrinix May 06, 2004, 11:49 PM go to al kharid and talk to the king-ish guy, he'll tell you what to do next.
SuperBeaverInc. May 07, 2004, 07:57 AM  Fascinating. I know where Prince Ali and Lady Keli are, but where do I find the things I need?
Gainy May 07, 2004, 10:07 AM It'll tell you everything you need to know on www.tip.it/runescape/
It has walkthroughs for the quests there, and just gives you some generally useful information :)
Regarding money-making, Crafting is quite popular. You can sell various amulets for quite alot of money. Although still not as good as Smithing.
FireBall May 07, 2004, 08:09 PM Ah yes, I've been there quite a few ties.. great site!
brandonbowler May 10, 2004, 08:45 PM I'm SuBI 83 if anyone really cares.
Runescape gets REALLY boring and frustruating after a while I think anyway
brandonbowler May 10, 2004, 08:47 PM AHHH!!!!! Im so confused!!! sorry about that I just ment to reply normally. I'm startin to get this update. :)
Dabomb18359 May 13, 2004, 01:32 PM My friend played it to show me and I thought it was lame. I just sat there calling everyone a noob. Too many people play this game, although it's fun to make a wavy effect text say YOU stink and they're gone before they can reply
Lord Draegon May 13, 2004, 07:05 PM Yes You dont understand. You shouldnt call people noobs
Dabomb18359 May 14, 2004, 06:26 PM and why not? they can't hurt me and they don't care. It's like a huge game they know some people are going to do that for either attention or something else. I was messing around. So what are they going to do. It's obvious with the levels and stuff who is a noob and who's not anyways...

Not always, usually a player has 2 or 3 accounts. I don't know why you need more then one, but it seems they do.
Gainy May 21, 2004, 05:32 PM I don't know why you need more then one, but it seems they do.
It might just be me, but when I first started playing, I didn't realise that my guy could be alot more proficient in the wilderness if I only trained up certain attributes --- Ie ignoring Magic and Prayer, and going for Strength/Defence/Attack
This might be the same for some other players, so they might want to create another 'Pure' account, so they can be beastly in the wilderness ;)
Some people just want a fresh start, or a new name etc.
Dabomb18359 May 22, 2004, 10:10 AM Not always, usually a player has 2 or 3 accounts. I don't know why you need more then one, but it seems they do.
Ok I dont see any point against me there. So what if they have more than one account?
FireBall May 22, 2004, 04:47 PM Yeah, I have 3 accounts because Itotally screwed 2 up...
I currently have one guy who's extremely proficient in Woodcutting and Fishing, but not very proficient in smithing/mining or combat really...
I'm at level 14 (Combat Level), my Attack is 18, Defence is 10 and Strength is only 8, but my woodcut is 43 and fishing is 35, mining/smithing is around 3 or 4...
I could make a new char and make him proficient in Mining and Combat, thus giving me antoher view on RuneScape
damunzy May 22, 2004, 05:39 PM I can't seem to connect from work - might be a firewall problem. I will have to try from home. My user name on there is munzy and I am using the server in Philadelphia, #10.

Ok I understand none of that. What's your point though? I'm just saying no matter what your reason is it's obvious who's better, whether you have other accounts or not.
FireBall May 23, 2004, 02:18 PM Point is that people like to experiment and go diffrent paths with diffrent characters. They can then pick the path they like most and go with that character.
damunzy May 24, 2004, 09:27 PM Ugh. I tried to like the game but I don't like the view point. Same problem I had with NWN.
ybbor May 25, 2004, 07:40 AM you can use the arrow keys to change the view
Dabomb18359 May 25, 2004, 05:27 PM So you're saying that someone may have different accounts, one being powerful than the others, so other people think you're weak but you're not, right? Even so, I am just saying that the player on screen with you is obviously better, worse, or even than you.
puglover May 29, 2004, 03:51 PM I just can't beat the vampire. How on earth do you wield the stake, and what's the hammer for? I have the onion and everything!
Gainy May 29, 2004, 07:13 PM What combat level are you? You might just be too low. I'm pretty sure you just click on the stake, and then click on the vampire dude.
I did that quest when I was quite a high level, and didn't know anything about the stakes or whatever. I just fought him like a normal 'dude' :) -- so if you wait till you're a higher level, you could beat him normally.

Hmm. Interesting. But I tried using the stake on the count and it just said, "nothing interesting happens"
Lord Draegon Jun 03, 2004, 01:42 PM actualy a reson some people have more than one acount is so that they can make an uber powerful character by giving that one all of the stuff from your other acounts.
Dabomb18359 Jun 12, 2004, 07:14 PM Minda reminds me of the old pokemon games. create a new game, send it to friend...
Gainy Jul 22, 2004, 05:57 AM well get some started. I am now a member and lvl 60.
Is anyone a good miner?
Yep. Just went on for the first time in ages. Turns out im combat level 60 too, and i'm mining level 63. Now that i've got broadband, i'll give this game another (mini) chance :) I'm smithing level 52 btw...
Tomoyo Jul 22, 2004, 06:23 AM Hmm. Interesting. But I tried using the stake on the count and it just said, "nothing interesting happens"
Here's a step-by-step:
1) Make sure you are holding garlic (You don't need it, but i helps)
2) Make sure you can beat the count
3) Almost kill the count
4) Click on the stake (wield it)
5) :D
My name is yitl if anyone cares, but I run a newb farm, so I would normally be on one of those accounts. That is if I still played. I will starting now. :D
-Gladiator- Aug 03, 2004, 02:13 PM Lol...I just have to say something about this game...I would consider myself almost a veteran in it(started playing in april 2001-it came out for public in Feb 2001 and finaly quitted in Feb 2004-I also played rs2 for a while-tried to accomplish sth in runecrafting but the rs freaks just beat me so I quitted again and this time forever) i got pretty good in it but it got REALLY boring in the end...like just try getting more than 1 million exp for just 1 LVL!!! insane! (well I didn't play it very much-couln't play in summer but I am happy with what i acomplished)-if any1 cares I'll put pic of my stats here,(I gained some more lvls after making that pic but they aren't that important to make another sc...)

Sarevok Aug 09, 2004, 04:54 AM Id like it too, though I got a pretty good account myself though nothing like that. Perhaps we should all do a screen to our current stats? Ill go first :)
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/Rune.jpg
Sarevok Aug 09, 2004, 04:59 AM The answer to your question is yes, I became a member last month though the game messed up for 2 weeks and I am now able to be on again. If you want to meet just say hello via message and say ur from CFC. Though I am a member, I can go on free as well as much as I think members is much better :D My ID is Mal'Ganis_RH
-Gladiator- Aug 09, 2004, 05:16 AM Sarevok you should do some total aswell, stats like magic, ranged, runecrafting, woodcutting and firemaking are rather low, they are easy to put up to gain some skill total, user is rather nice though, if you leave your def on 50 and put str and att high up, it might even do sth in wild...
I myself think that p2p(members) is pointless, no point wasting money on an online game that you soon get bored of...
Oh and can't you cut images? large images make forum load pictures slowly...
Gainy Aug 09, 2004, 06:07 AM A few weeks ago, I tried to get back into the game. Logged in, everything looked ok. Went to the bank, then realised all of my rune items were gone. Pick, plate, 2h, legs, large helm, hatchet, and my Santa Hat :( Never going to play it again, apart from to take this picture ;)
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/Gainy_Runescape.JPG
Btw, I was going for a retro-disco look when making my character :D
Sarevok Aug 09, 2004, 06:12 AM good character, but how did you lose your rune stuff? I would look more throughly at the bank as you might have missed something. With the amount of stuff I have that happens alot.

ive played RS for 2 years and I am far from bored ;)
My main concern is making cash now, as I want 350k for a dragon long. Any suggestions by looking at those stats as to what I should do?
Gainy Aug 09, 2004, 06:14 AM I'm guessing someone 'hacked' my account. I've checked my bank thorughly, and it's not there :p
Sarevok Aug 09, 2004, 06:55 AM well that sucks... :(

If you mean what you should do to get money? then you should start fishing or smithing these are the best moneymakers...also mining...
If you mean what skills you should put up then the question is easy...your lowest skills and ofcourse your attack skills...since you'r a member you should prolly start working on p2p skills, you have plenty of time to do f2p skills later...it would also be nice to put mining on 60 or even up to 70(60-to get into mining guild and 70 to mine addy) and smithing on 50(to start working with mithril)
Ok...but still your decision, what you start doing...I just said would I thought...
Sarevok Aug 09, 2004, 12:22 PM Im struggling between lobster and Swordfish...

I suggest you pay 100k...It costs that from the shop in zanitaris (rout the sha)
ybbor Aug 23, 2004, 12:40 PM i stink!!!
subbss Aug 23, 2004, 11:10 PM @ybbor, That looks like a mirror of my stats! You do not stink, those are respectable stats. How long have you been playing?
ybbor Aug 24, 2004, 07:53 AM well, i joined around spring break, which my friend says was about the time they switched to RS2. and i stoped around summer break, so about june 10th or so
subbss Aug 24, 2004, 09:12 AM That's quick progress in my opinion. Are you a saradominist, zamorkian, or guthian? How much money do you have. I am a saradominist and I have about 35k I think but I got the money by picking it up off the ground after someone died (I didn't kill them) because of a random event. Very good luck. I actually picked up about 106k but spent a lot of it already.
ybbor Aug 24, 2004, 09:19 AM Are you a saradominist, zamorkian, or guthian?
what?
How much money do you have.
i have about 50K. i got it all by mining/smithing
Tomoyo Aug 24, 2004, 10:18 AM Just a question for you people: Is repeatedly clicking a rock, then walking to the bank and back, actually fun for you?
I have no patience for that stuff so my character is dirt poor. (but has full rune)
I find mining horribly boring so I mainly started training my other stats (especially the unknown market knowledge skill)
I also act like a girl and try out many outfits and spend money on the makeover places. I currently have 4 different outfits. (Nereid, Cleric, Goth, and Functional)
Gainy Aug 24, 2004, 10:27 AM Just a question for you people: Is repeatedly clicking a rock, then walking to the bank and back, actually fun for you?
Not anymore, but I think it used to be ;) I was 'addicted' to the game a year or two ago, I think I might have found the actual mining boring, but the final goal of getting into the mining guild was appealing to me (you need, or needed, to be level 60 I think) It also got me alot of money, which mattered to me at the time.
When I look at the game now, I realise it is ridiculous. It is horribly repetetive, unexciting, and the people who are 'better' at the game than others aren't really better -- they just waste more time on the game. Nothing to be proud of.
I find mining horribly boring so I mainly started training my other stats
I wouldn't say any other aspects of the game are much more exciting.
Tomoyo Aug 28, 2004, 09:41 AM I wouldn't say any other aspects of the game are much more exciting.

10 characters.
Tomoyo Oct 29, 2004, 05:49 PM Ok, someone PLEASE explain to me why the screename "civfanatic", in Runescape, is TAKEN?
Fundamentality Oct 29, 2004, 06:22 PM Ok, someone PLEASE explain to me why the screename "civfanatic", in Runescape, is TAKEN?
Maybe some other civfanatic chose that name?
Anyways,here is my character
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/ScreenShot0011.jpg
Tomoyo Oct 29, 2004, 07:21 PM I haven't posted my character yet... I used to be a member, which expains the non-1 member stats, but I'm not anymore.
Sarevok Nov 14, 2004, 01:05 AM Heh, I guess it wont hurt to show my psycho...
Yes I am a member. Anyone from CFC can message me in game, just say you are form CFC and i wont yell at you ;) Tomoyo and I have already met online.
BTW, I am currently at the head of a clan set to be a pking clan. If you want to join, try to be above lvl 50 combat or have a major redeeming feature.
Sarevok Nov 14, 2004, 01:12 AM Id like it too, though I got a pretty good account myself though nothing like that. Perhaps we should all do a screen to our current stats? Ill go first :)

Man, ive come a LONG WAY...
This is the screen of my old stats. The post above shows my current stats.
Sarevok Nov 21, 2004, 04:18 PM nobody plays this anymore?
Tomoyo Nov 21, 2004, 05:44 PM Nope, nobody. ;)
Nice characer BTW. Did you see my bad one?
The Omega Nov 21, 2004, 06:16 PM Used to play runescape, but eventually I got bored......everything was either too strong, or gave too little expierence to be helpful....... :(
subbss Nov 21, 2004, 10:29 PM Yes many people play this, if you go to their website and look at how many people are playing at around 3-5 PM. Usually about 40000-50000 during peak hours and a minimum of 20000-30000 at around midnight and early morning. I play runescape also as a matter of fact. I will post a pic of my stats soon.

My ID is Mal'Ganis_RH, just message me in game and say you are from CFC.
Sarevok Nov 22, 2004, 11:31 AM Nope, nobody. ;)
Nice characer BTW. Did you see my bad one?
My character is already stronger than the one in the pic by alot ;) I now got 97 qp and 892 ttl lvl's.
Your character is good Tomoyo, youre better than me on production values...
Tomoyo Nov 22, 2004, 07:47 PM No I'm not. You have a higher mining and smithing, and all I have on you is the crafting.
Sarevok Nov 23, 2004, 03:29 AM well... I do have 71 mining and 65 smithing... Its all that damn cannonball making im doing. mmm... money
(32,000 Cannonballs is 5,120,000gp)
Sarevok Nov 23, 2004, 03:33 AM when i blow that cash on full saradomin plate with a kite (3,600,000gp) ill give you guys a nice pic with my new armor ;)
Sarevok Nov 24, 2004, 05:13 PM note to RS players: buying full saradomin armor is the most hellish experience one goes through in RS...
subbss Nov 24, 2004, 05:41 PM What is full saradomin? I have never heard of it, I thought the best was dragon armor. I assume it is members right? How would you get it iand why is it hellish? Is it hellish because of how expensive it is?
Sarevok Nov 24, 2004, 06:19 PM Saradomin is rune that is white trimmed. With red trim Zamorak, and Green trim Guthix, they are the 3 god armors. Its hellish because everyone wants to buy, nobody wants to sell.
Also, i compated ttheir strengths to regular rune... no difference. So...
Full rune w/ kite: 220k
Full Guthix w/ kite: 2.8 mil
Full Saradomin w/ kite: 3.8 mil
LLXerxes Nov 24, 2004, 07:36 PM it won't let me play  none of my browsers except for IE are capatible with this and IE is wached out
Sarevok Nov 25, 2004, 02:15 AM Well that sucks...
Here is a new screen of me in my new good looking Full Guthix armor ;)
Sarevok Nov 26, 2004, 01:27 AM Note to others: 43 Prayer is the level that should be #1 on your priority list.
Sarevok Nov 27, 2004, 01:55 AM It seems like every time I post a pic here the pic is heavily outdated within a day or so. My current character now has 100QP and 959 TTL Lvl's with Combat 76
Gainy Nov 27, 2004, 06:04 AM That's why you should go outside :) I appreciate that game is addictive, but it is a complete waste of time. I know it's satisfying to get to the next level or whatever so you can do this and that, but really, it means nothing. You're not going to go around saying 'OMG look at me im a level 66 smither on an online computer game!', whereas you could be saying 'I climbed that mountain over there!' :)
Once you walk away from the computer after playing (assuming you do ) your life will be enhanced in no way. All the hours you have 'spent' on it will be wasted, when you could have been doing more productive/better things.
Having high levels doesn't reflect how good you are at the game, it just reflects how much time you're willing to waste playing it. Stop playing now! :)

Waste of time? Its fun!
Ultimately all games are a waste of time, even civ. But why do we play them? Because they are fun.
LLXerxes Nov 27, 2004, 04:36 PM i can play with another comp.
where do you get hte weapons? i went to the store nothing all i had was the bow arrows helmet and sword.
i was like a level 7 or something and i got killed by a scorpion
iceangel Nov 29, 2004, 05:33 PM is there any games like runescape but better  or at least equal i need to play sumthing more fun then that
subbss Nov 30, 2004, 07:53 AM There are many better MMORPG games but they cost a lot of money to buy and through subscription every month. Runescape is the only one that is fully online using Java and is completely free, and even the members version of RS is only 5$/month which is a lot less than teh other top MMORPG's.
Sarevok Nov 30, 2004, 10:00 AM Its -pretty much the best one anyway...
subbss Nov 30, 2004, 07:12 PM Not if you compare it to things like Everquest, World of Warcraft, and City of Heros it isn't the best... it just happens to be the cheapest.
Sarevok Dec 01, 2004, 01:27 AM I havent played the others, but EQ is pretty good.
Sarevok Dec 02, 2004, 09:39 PM well, im currently looking for good members for this little group of mine, anyone want to join?
Tomoyo Dec 11, 2004, 06:56 PM Sarevok. I might re-start playing and join your little group. Just give details. Now. :)
Dreadnought Dec 11, 2004, 09:41 PM I'm the Rottenroman...someone took Dreadnought! Well, I ain't that good, but getting better...
Sarevok Dec 14, 2004, 10:21 AM Sarevok. I might re-start playing and join your little group. Just give details. Now. :)
ok, ill post the details later today when I have more time.
LLXerxes Dec 14, 2004, 05:44 PM whoa dude, at my school, there are a bunch of 9 adn 10 years playing. o_O
casual_moose Dec 14, 2004, 06:05 PM I play, though im not on much anymore. Some guys I know seem to hate it, though? Ah well. Maybe i'll see some of you guys on sometime, or something.
odintheking Dec 16, 2004, 07:10 PM Wow, I used to play this game, but only during the early summer. I moved on because my life was more important than some fantasy world. I was Odin48 and was in a clan with adude named "Eternityfire", ah, good times.

my life is more important. I just play to kill time.
philippe Dec 17, 2004, 03:09 PM i have a char too a lv 56 mage but man i really need to get some gems and coal.
it is so hard.
oh you can find me with the name hollebeke
Tomoyo Dec 17, 2004, 07:28 PM I think I have found the funnest business in Runescape: gem traders.
Buy gems from newbs, make jewelry, sell! Still boring though...
Pking is so hard now that the wilderness is empty... or at least devoid of newbs/levelish 30 people... :(
Sarevok Dec 18, 2004, 04:48 PM Ok, info on my clan:
The clan is split into 3 armed branches, Warrior, Ranged, and Magic
Warrior Branch Leader (General of Infantry): Crustache
Ranging Branch Leader (General of Ranging): Mal'Ganis_RH (me)
Mage Branch Leader (General of Mages): Altaran
We have equal authority in this clan, though I am online the most and I organize everything within the group. In other words, If you want to talk to someone about joining, talk to me.
When/if you join, you will be asked which branch you choose to join. This is which type of combat you prefer to use. It does not neccesarily have to be something youre a god at, but you do have to like that style. You need to get the approval of the leader of the branch to enter that group as an officer. You will also need to talk to me (Mal'Ganis_RH) in order for me to put you on the roster. To get kicked out of a branch, it merely needs the consent of the branch leader, where then you will have to enter one of the other 2 branches, of course with the approval of its leader. To be removed from the clan however, it must be agreed upon by all 3 branch leaders.
We will being doing clan stuff in January, for now were preparing our group. You can join this group, but id prefer if you were over lvl 40, but below lvl 65. I will accept people as high as 70, but this is rare. The reason is that I want to be able to train up our members into our style of war. I personally do not want people who are extremely good who will fight with you as a partner rather than a comrade. There has already been a coup attempt in this clan, so I am paranoid about high lvl's in the group (75+)
Also, to ensure that our trainees have the ability to train, we do have some... caps on training of some abilities. you should not train beyond these points and if youre beyond them, stay where you are. These are temporary so certain generals (me and Altaran) are able to beocme master of their field. They are:
- 40 Magic (Do not train above this unless you have either 50 theivng or 50 agility, which proves to me you are preparing to do the legends quest. This does not apply to people in the Mage Branch. This cap will be silenced when Altaran removes it, most likely at lvl 55)
- 45 Ranging (Do not train unless you are a member of the ranging branch. This cap will be removed when Mal'Ganis_RH (me) reaches 70 ranging.)
- There is no specific cap, but smithing over 50 is frowned upon by Altaran.
Thank you very much, and I hope you join up.
Sarevok Dec 18, 2004, 04:51 PM BTW, here is a new picture of my character, Mal'Ganis_RH. The Leader of the Ranging branch.
Sarevok Dec 18, 2004, 05:37 PM I think were going to add a new branch, the Industrial Branch dedicated to creating stuff like crafting, mining, runecrafting, and smithing to supply the 3 main branches. I am nominating someone named workerzero to be the leader of this group. If he refuses, Id want Yitl (Tomoyo) to be its leader. Ill post here when we got a leader for this branch.
ybbor Dec 18, 2004, 07:42 PM you made a girl chrecter :dubious:

Good to see you crustache.
No, this is mostly a free world clan
ybbor Dec 19, 2004, 08:19 AM i'm seriously thinking about joining. the big question, how much of a time comitment would it be?
Brutus73 Dec 19, 2004, 09:11 AM I joined RuneScape as a member about a year ago. It's really, really, REALLY addictive and being a member for that small fee is no problem for me. I play RuneScape for at least 7 hours every day :D .
The Omega Dec 19, 2004, 09:15 AM I joined RuneScape as a member about a year ago. It's really, really, REALLY addictive and being a member for that small fee is no problem for me. I play RuneScape for at least 7 hours every day :D .
Yes! I finally got him to post!
just wondering, does anyone know why every enemy seems to either be too weak to give enough experiance to me, or too strong to fight? It's the mane reason I stopped playing......... :(
Tomoyo Dec 19, 2004, 09:19 AM @Sarevok: I have 54 smithing... :p
Otherwise, I wanna be in the magic part. I'm 49 Magic. (Maybe it was 50, I'm not sure) My other combat stats stink.
My combat is somewhere around 55.

just message me in game and be sure to ask Altaran when he comes on. You will be a most welcome addition :)
i'm seriously thinking about joining. the big question, how much of a time comitment would it be?
Its a decent commitment, but its not ridiculous. Id want members to come on reguarly, as i have kicked people out for not coming on enough. You will want to either be a decent fighter, or a decent creator (smithing, runecrafting).

I have also received word from workerzero, he has accepted my offer to lead the new "industrial Branch". Membership recruitment will begin immediately, but the branch will not be activated until January 1st, 2005.
Sarevok Dec 19, 2004, 03:11 PM you know, im wondering if I should create a new thread for this whole clan business?

Sarevok Dec 20, 2004, 12:55 PM pics are made obsolete rather quickly. You should see my current stats ;)
Ok, just message me in game. Its Mal'Ganis_RH
Sarevok Dec 21, 2004, 03:18 AM well, we got a clan name, so im going to make a thread for that clan in this forum.
Silent serge Feb 14, 2005, 07:31 PM C:\My Documents\My Pictures\hit.bmp Hey sup wondering if i can join range clan i got 72 range ........
subbss Feb 18, 2005, 11:58 AM As you can see my Runescape name is the same as my CFC name.
So what do you think of my stats?
Genocidicbunny Feb 18, 2005, 10:55 PM Nice, I have to say
Genocidicbunny Feb 18, 2005, 10:55 PM how bout items
Genocidicbunny Feb 18, 2005, 10:58 PM I was level 125 when I quit but..., wait I didnt quit, I got thrown out for supposed scamming
subbss Feb 22, 2005, 11:47 AM I am not the best by any means but I am not poor either. Don't forget that I am wearing full rune so that is why there is no armor in the bank (the steel was just stuff I was smithing and selling). Notice that I have 61 amulets of magic!
EDIT (3/25/05): I now have twice as much money and other stuff too, I will make a new pic soon.
Sarevok Feb 26, 2005, 04:25 AM C:\My Documents\My Pictures\hit.bmp Hey sup wondering if i can join range clan i got 72 range ........

you uhh... need to fish.
Grohan Mar 10, 2005, 11:20 AM I started playing RS in 2001 by then when there was no wilderness.
My friend started playing RS earlier than me and he was mighty lvl 16 character and he had full iron set. I was so jealous... After that I got hooked.
Eventually I reached lvl 45 and I almost catched his level BUT then someone stole my account  I lost Mithrill plate, black legs and my mithril axe.
But I created new account and started playing again. With him I reached lvl 65. I became member of all guilds and got full rune set, yellow party hat and santa hat.
After that I stopped playing about a half year before arrival of 3D RS.
odintheking Mar 10, 2005, 08:31 PM It's strange, suddenly Runescape is a big thing at my school now. Everybody's playing it now! Creepy.
Sarevok Mar 11, 2005, 01:26 AM It's strange, suddenly Runescape is a big thing at my school now. Everybody's playing it now! Creepy.
well its fun.
(do any of them want to sign on for my clan?)
odintheking Mar 11, 2005, 01:25 PM Yeah, Runescape is fun. As for your clan, I might get some of my friends to join....
Sarevok Apr 06, 2005, 07:35 PM riight. Where are they?
RoboPig Apr 15, 2005, 05:49 PM As you can see my Runescape name is the same as my CFC name.

As Sarevok said...fish. You are higher than me in everything except fishing.
AA-battery Apr 19, 2005, 12:54 AM RS name: Corsair513

Basically I'm a noob. F2p, and my total bank worth is about half million gp. Wouldn't mind going pking though, would like to earn a 3rd set of full rune... :D I would be interested in joining a clan, please dont backstab. :(

dont worry, we dont pull crap like that. In any case, if you wanna join, refer to the link in my sig to the forums.
Dreadnought Apr 19, 2005, 02:13 PM I used to play it, but now I don't. Heh, I sucked at it...

Oh ok thats nice to hear, its just not funny to have a whole bunch of noobs turn around and start stabbing you when you think they are your buds. :(
Plexus Apr 24, 2005, 05:48 PM I used to play this game... until I realized just how tedious it really was. I had reached level ~50 in fishing and I just got bored.
Same goes for PuzzlePirates, though I vastly prefer PuzzlePirates, and I was more turned off by the sheer elitist nature of the whole game. Incredibly difficult to advance in - you basically needed to know someone that could give you stuff in order to rise in the ranks of the game.
RoboPig Apr 25, 2005, 01:56 PM ok, random question: how much gold do u need to be considered normal? and how much gold do u need to be considered rich? in runescape
AA-battery Apr 26, 2005, 12:13 AM I dont really know, you should probably have over 200k to be normal, and if your rich you would have probably over 1 million gp and maybe a rare item like a santa hat.
subbss May 02, 2005, 11:29 AM It depends on what level you are of course and hwo long you have been playing. No one would expect someoen who is level 20 to have 200k of course. You will get more money as time goes on.
You will get more money depending on which skill you choose to bring up first also. Like mining and smithinbg is great but only in the long run so when you first start it will not make you any money at all. Other ways of making money like pking or merchanting depend on how ghood you are and how much patience you have.
How much money you have depends on how many times you have died too, or been scammed. I have about 460k+ right now and I know that if I had never died or had been carrying less with me when I died I would now have over 1 mill.
Sarevok May 13, 2005, 01:02 AM In assets I have about 8M.
Sarevok May 13, 2005, 01:05 AM I dont really know, you should probably have over 200k to be normal, and if your rich you would have probably over 1 million gp and maybe a rare item like a santa hat.
On that issue, if you want to make money, join my clan. We have turned poor people into quite rich people. I myself only had about 300k before I made the clan, now im pushing well into the millions.
AA-battery May 21, 2005, 12:48 PM Subbss: True about levels, but yet a person who can't really afford a second set of full rune if they lose thier first while pking than they can be considered poor for anyone that has been playing this game for a while.
I'll see about it Mal, anyway here are my skills, not much to look at but somewhat evenly balanced.
Sarevok Jun 05, 2005, 05:17 AM Are you joining or not?
AA-battery Jun 10, 2005, 07:03 PM OK I'll join right now. Here are my updated stats: As you can see, I've taken fishing as my career option in RS. :P
Sarevok Jun 14, 2005, 10:02 AM Yummy. Anyone else?
subbss Aug 25, 2005, 12:53 PM The last time I posted my stats, I looked like this (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=2566093&postcount=142).

Tank_Guy#3 Nov 28, 2005, 01:15 PM ok, random question: how much gold do u need to be considered normal? and how much gold do u need to be considered rich? in runescape
Normal, I'd say around a Million.
Rich, 10's of Millions.
I'm an average level, 59 I think. I would have to check.

Is this still on? What do you guys do as clan? PK trips? mining trips, other events?

As a matter of fact, yes!!!

Mine is mining about 300 coal and selling it for about 30k. But more recently I have gained the ability to cut yews, though I forget how much they usually go for, they are exponentially more valuable than coal. I used to sell "lobbies" too  . Oh, also I just sold some full rune, so I'm sitting on a nice little pile of cash :goodjob: .
My name on RS is Justinbgood. (I was in 7th grade when I made the name).
Sarevok Dec 01, 2005, 02:20 AM Is this still on? What do you guys do as clan? PK trips? mining trips, other events?
Nay, its been finished ever since I got World of Warcraft, or July 4 2005.
Gelion Dec 01, 2005, 10:20 AM I can understand that :)
The reason I dont want to get WoW is that it is VERY addictive....don't want many bad thigns happening to me just because I can't stop playing....
useless Dec 26, 2005, 03:32 PM im a member and have 2 dragon long swords (60 strengh to wield) they cost like 90-120 k each

BCLG100 Dec 27, 2005, 10:24 AM i go on it sometimes, mainly just stand there and press the headbang button though tbh
Aramazd Dec 27, 2005, 07:34 PM What is your favourite money-making method?
Since I am a non-member my favorite way to make money is to go to Kamamja and fish lobs on the dock. I catch 100 then sell them at Edgeville for 200ea. It's definitely not the fastest way to make money, but I can chat with my friends while I fish. Right now I have about 20k. I used to have 200k, but I bought full rune with it. I waste most of my time on RS and could make a lot more money if I tried.
Da_Dragon555 Feb 01, 2006, 06:17 PM I play the game as, well, Da_Dragon555.
Also, as I'm slightly new, I hope this isn't against rules.
Check out Misthalin.com (http://misthalin.com/index.php?act=site). It's a Forum that is centered around RS, I'm a Manager there.
