How do the original civ3, conquests, and PTW all work together. I realize that PTW and conquests require the original Civ3, but how do you get the benefit of all of these games together? I guess what I wish to know is can you play conquests with all of the PTW improvements? I have installed all three games, and when I fire up conquests, I get the original civ3 game interface without the extra worker options and other great shortcut buttons and game features. Are PTW and conquests supposed to be played seperately, or are they each successive upgrades??

They are designed to be played pretty-much independently. The only requirement is that you have to have Civ3 installed to install the other two.

To get the advanced worker options, there is a hot-key (IIRC), or alternatively you can set them to be shown from teh preferences menu. :)

And to tag onto what ainwood said, PTW *includes* all of Civ3, v1.29f, so once you install PTW, you will probably never boot with the Civ3 CD again. ;)

Conquests includes all of PTW v1.27f (the core game, not the fan-created material). Ergo, you will probably never want to start the game with your PTW CD, either. :D

Is there a proper order of installation than...because when I start up conquests, it has the original civ3 interface. It doesn't resemble PTW at all...none of the good features. Maybe because I installed civ3 first than conquests, than PTW. Any comments?

Yeah, that would be it.

Install Civ3 first, patch it to v1.29f, then install Conquests. (Conquests installs PTW automatically. You don't need to manually install PTW at all, unless you want access to the *extras*. ;) ) If you *want* to install PTW separately, do it between Civ3 and Conquests.

Conquests will patch PTW to v1.27f automatically. (It was *supposed* to patch Civ3 to 1.29f, but something seems to have glitched there.)
