Hi, this is my first post here. I have the Civilization III Gold Edition, and I was wondering, which patch am I supposed to install. The latest Civ III patch, or Play The World patch? Or both? Some info would be appreciated.

When you start Civ3 and PTW, the patch version that you have installed is displayed on the bottom left of the main menu screen.

You should have 1.29f for Civ3, and (probably) 1.27f for PTW. :)

... since i havent been playing civ III for quite some time, and if i may ask additionally as to the above patch... how or what should be installed or even bought if i ld like to have civ III as a multiplayer?... is there anything?... thanx in advance for helping out here...

If you want multiplayer, you need to get Play The World Or Conquests.

I recommend that you get Conquests -> its cheaper than Play The World, includes more civs, and as an added bonus it also includes 'play the world' anyway. :)
