Welcome to the Term 4 Presidential Office! I am honored to serve as President of Fanatica this term. Post here if you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc. regarding the presidency during Term 4.

Also, I am looking for appointees as associate justices (both positions are still unfilled) and also Province #5, which I believe has the necessary three cities for a citizen to be appointed to the position. Additionally, I am looking for a Director of Infrastructure. This is an unofficial position, but in the event that we amend the constitution sometime this term to allow for a Minister of Finance and Labor, this person will become very likely to receive my appointment to the position.

Presidential Office

President: Bootstoots
Vice President: Rik Meleet
Director of Infrastructure: Chieftess

As it turns out, we need two new governors, one for Province #4 (Ville de Buisson, Anarchyisgodville, and Sanction) in the far northeast and the other for Province #5 (Acheron, Mr. Roger's Neiborhood, and Vandopolis) in the far southwest.

I wish to take the newly forumed Province #4 and I would be willing to resign the VP possition in order to legaly switch office.

Next time boots, when I am back to my old self again (the Pre-Emotional stage), when you're president next time, I would be happy to take VP if I have not won an office :).

I think donsig has gone kookoo (sp).

I'll apply for the DoI thread. There's no laws to the best of my knowledge about holding an elected posistion and a presidential sub-posistion, which is not elected. :)

I have been following the third term of the Demogame as Deputy in the Foreign Affairs office. Can I still apply for a province #5 governorship?

Sure, as long as you aren't currently holding a deputy position. You have my appointment. :)

Also, CT is appointed DoI, as there is no law against her holding an unofficial position along with an official one.

Still needed: A Vice President and an Associate Justice.

President Bootstoots

For the coming turnchat I wish to request some gold to build some Embassies, but as there is currently no senate thread it seems likely that this will be left to your control. I therefore request enough (289 gold) to build Embassies with Persia, Aztecs, Zululand and Iroquois as decided in this poll (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83545).

Mr. President:

If you need my services in any region or office; I'll be more than willing to comply.

Well, I am in need of a vice president, and I'm sure you'd serve well in that role. If you want the position, it's yours. :)

Furiey - Your request is granted.

Rik Meleet has been appointed Vice President.

We still need an associate justice; apply now if you wish to serve in this role.

President Bootstoots,

I am willing to serve as AJ if appointed.

My Lord President,

It is with regret that I must announce my resignation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The demands upon my time have become severe, and I no longer have the time, or the energy to carry out the duties of the MIA.

I've also found my excitement level in general for this game has dropped dramatically. The lack of respect citizens have for each other, the hostility some show and the general apathy has gotten to me. I'll go back to a pseudo-lurker for some time - recent events have just burned me out.

I am sorry to hear that, ravensfire. You have been one of our most influential citizens over the past 9 months or so and will be sorely missed. I hope you can come back soon, and that the game will have improved when you return to full activity.

Boots - just to note on some of your worker micromanagement. You have 2 workers clearing jungle in Acheron, and 2 workers, plus a Bab worker (2 1/2) clearing jungle in Mister Roger's. If there's jungle to clear, it's Santa Lucia. That's the more PRODUCTIVE city!

Sanction - You have a worker building a road on a mined mountain that's never going to be used. Why? It can have 2 more population, but needs 2 food, thus, it needs 2 irragated plains. Not 1 0-food mountain!

Ville de Buisson - I wanted it to use all floodplain tiles, and it's not doing that. The reason is to use as many forest tiles as possible.

Monte - It's got an extra irragated grassland in the south. Why?

Leibling - This is using up VALUEBLE BONUS GRASSLAND TILES that Monte and boots should be using for KNIGHTS!!!!!!!! This wasn't in the DoI plan. The plan was for that city to be a worker factory.

Groton - You're mining another mountain that's never going to be used. How will a size 12 city with 0 surplus food use it? You also irragated a bonus grassland in St. Octaviansburg. Not to mention, there's 3. You only need 1 for the 1 extra hill!

Audiac - It's making use of the hill when it should be using the bonus grassland tile that's mined!!

There's also a worker in a galley in Audiac. You can still wake him up, and use him THAT TURN.

BTW, I don't want anymore workers over there. You're using up workers that should be clearing jungle for our productive cities. Audiac isn't gonna be as productive. It's a colony that won't be of much use yet except for sending incense through Egypt's and Greece's harbors.

PLEASE brush up on your worker management! You're really helping to mess up any good chance of taking out all of Babylon and Russia... (some governors included...)

I'll try to keep that advice in mind. However, regarding your last statement, my worker actions might delay an attack by a few turns, but the real thing that messes up taking out Babylon and Russia is the fact that you haven't gotten full support from the governors and the people for this war. Once you get this, taking out Babylon and Russia won't be hard, my worker management notwithstanding.

I guess I am not the only one that had been harped on with MM and workers ;).

'Course, maybe, just maybe, the people and the Governors have other objective than a war, ones that have equal value requiring a division of effort.

I think what we really lack is a plan (i.e., How do we want to wind this game, and what is our backup plan incase that doesn't happen?). It would get boring just bumbling our way through the modern era to win by diplo or spaceship (or histographic) all the time.

I agree with Chieftess. Let's fight boredom. We now are able to run over every civ we choose. Is this fun?

OTOH I think we are way to late for a cultural win. And it requires just the will and the staightforward implementation of it. No real room for demogame-like discussions and polls.

After finishing Russia, our lux deal with Persia ends. Why not attack them for a little bit of excitement? And of course because now our cavalry rules vs. their immortals and we don't face rifles yet. Attacking Babylon is like beating dead fish.

Chieftess
Apr 13, 2004, 10:17 AM
A dead babelfish? (couldn't resist).

But, yeah, Babylon can fall in 2-3 turns once we prepare. 100K culture is still possible I think, provided we get enough cities (probably 100), but we're not at the liberty to have cheap culture units like in DG1 and 2 (of which we were quickly closing in on 100K).

One of the last remaining instructions from the DoI (and a request from military).

Please place rails (labeled RR) and a road (labeled R) in the following locations. Please use 2 native workers, or 4 foreign to get the job done in 1 turn. In addition to these tiles, build a railroad 1 tile south of Nea Roma, and a road 1 tile south of that. These will be in preperation of an attack on India.

(Regent Town will expand next turn, BTW), and do check Mill Valley. It's about to riot. (Place a specialist on the forest, and take off 2 wheat tiles)

Mr. President,

since we don't have a MiA to take care of Wonder Building, I bring the following to YOUR attention:

a) I made a decision and informed the Governor of Sérliënorë via PM as follows: Colleague Governor,

I stopped the Hoover pre-build in Vandelay, because Groton will be so much faster to do it. I would suggest you set the Groton queue to either

- factory, coal plant, Palace as Hoover pre-built, or
- factory, Palace as Hoover pre-built

rgds

tao, Governor of Audiac

b) I also kicked the Sleeping Governor of Berry (twice) and suggested to him queues for the upcoming turnchat (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=1785213#post=1785213), especially to build factory, Universal Suffrage in our capital of Deux Riviere.

So, what do we do with the prebuild now? Just waste it? By the time we even research Scientific Method, Groton will still be building a factory/Coal Plant (hopefully), and the prebuild might nearly be enough for ToE, then Hoover for Groton. I just don't want a huge prebuild wasted now that we started it...

I just don't want a huge prebuild wasted now that we started it... If you look at the turnchat instructions you will learn, that we loose only 8 shields by switching to factory (i.e. we accumulated 248 out of the necessary 600 only). And even without a coal plant, Groton will do the factory in 4 turns (finishing the turn we learn medicine) and build ToE 6 turns later (hopefully we learn scientific method the same turn and can do the "Big Picture switch" of a Palace pre-build. :goodjob:

Groton then needs another 10 turns to do Hoover. In summary 20 turns, whereas Vandelay would build Hoover in 29 turns (9 turns later). :goodjob:
