The Year 2004
Louis XXI looked over the horizon, and saw the American troops approaching. They could not have been more then 10 minutes away. Richenlau, his chief advisor, came onto the balcony with him.
"Sire, we must evacuate now, or the Americans will kill you!".
"No, I will stay and share the fate of my people", he replied coldly.
"But sir....", but he realized the uselessness of arguing. Louis was a stubborn man.
In Louis' mind he wondered how on Earth his kingdom had fallen. They may not have been the strongest, but they were self-sufficcent on their island, and were able to at least build nucleur weapons.
But how did they do lose? It was all so close, then......
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is now the year 1973, and Louis XXI has asended the throne of France. His father, Louis XX, was assasinated by a Roman agent, and the whole of France was outraged. But for the time, that was to be forgotten.
Louis XXI walked up towards the great throne filled with jewels. It was a great coronation ceremony, with not an expense spared, and Abraham Lincoln himself had attended. The French were a backward people, but thanks to his father, Louis had the ability to make them modern again!
His first council meeting was a success. Louis had been expecting a division of the Estates General over his plan to conquer Antoni, but luckily, they had remained united. Antoni was a rich city on the island of Elbonia, and it contained oil reserves, which France sorely needed. This city was Rome's last outpost, for the Amercans had destroyed their civilization and razed their cities. Now they were to be punished for their piracy on French trade ships. France and Rome were sworn enemies
The only senator against the invasion was Colonel Lafayette. Lafayette was a decorated war hero, and after serving Louis the XX, he was allowed to remain a member of the Estates General. He was against all war, even one to avenge the death of his best friend. However, he would be pivotal to France's fate, and would help lead the France's demise.
