Issues
Province-wide: Why can’t we have a city’s tiles be in the city’s province?
Foreign cities in Sérliënorë: When will they be Assimilated into the Fanatican Collective?
Groton: Should it be building a wonder? If so, what wonder?
Mure: Rather weakly defended if anybody decides to attack.
Grand Bricolage: We have flood plain, let’s irrigate it!
Overview: Sérliënorë (Note: May be shortened to Serlienore, Serlie, and/or Surly Province) is a compound Quenya (Elvish) noun translating literally to “Land of the Resting People.” The intended translation, however, is “Land of the Peaceful People.” This is in hopes that the foreign cities may be Assimilated quickly and thus enjoy a peaceful Fanatican life.
Noldodan Apr 04, 2004, 03:01 AM Groton: Capital of Sérliënorë, Groton was one of the first Fanatican cities to be founded, and houses the Forbidden Palace.
Mayor: CivGeneral
Shields/Waste: 18/0
Commerce/Corruption: 24/0
Food Consumption/Surplus: 14/0
Garrison: Veteran Warrior, Regular Pikeman
Happy/Content/Unhappy: 6/0/1
Producing/ETB: Leonardo’s Workshop, 33 turns
Issues: Should it be building a wonder? If so, what wonder?
Noldodan Apr 04, 2004, 03:09 AM Mure: Long a sole outpost of Fanatica among hostile neighbors, Mure is now being taken into the core of Fanatica.
Mayor: None
Shields/Waste: 2/1
Commerce/Corruption: 8/5
Food Consumption/Surplus: 6/5
Garrison: Veteran Spearman
Happy/Content/Unhappy: 3/0/0
Producing/ETB: Worker/5 turns
Issues: Rather weakly defended if anybody decides to attack.
Noldodan Apr 04, 2004, 03:10 AM Grand Bricolage: A coastal town, the only food for Grand Bricolage on land is 2 Floodplain tiles.
Mayor: None
Shields/Waste: 2/1
Commerce/Corruption: 5/2
Food Consumption/Surplus: 6/1
Garrison: Regular Warrior
Happy/Content/Unhappy: 2/1/0

ravensfire Apr 06, 2004, 10:40 AM My Lord Governor,
The capital of your province, Groton, is in the process of building a Great Wonder, but is somewhat hampered by it's relatively small size. Please consider some micromanaging that would allow Groton to grow, and increase the production capacity of the city. For example, the city is a mere two food away from growing, yet is configured to produce no extra food. A slight change would grow the city in one turn, and allow for future growth which will speed the construction of the Great Wonder!
My thanks!

tao Apr 06, 2004, 12:03 PM As I said before (but once again people didn't listen): we need to join at least 3 workers to Groton. We should have done this already!
May I suggest the MoI to contact the president on this? There are plenty of workers near Mure not really needed there, who could replace the joined ones.

A nice suggestion - it has been passed on.

Attention Governors!! - Please comment on the suggested builds in this thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84583). If you like them, you may use them in your build queues. They're an attempt to design the queues around max production, and our future wars with Babylon and Russia.

I reminded Boots of that last night, and 3 workers have been added. I'm also calling for more workers to be added in core cities to get them up to size 12. ("Size 12 Plan" was already copyrighted ack in DG2. :p)
tao Apr 13, 2004, 05:02 AM Groton should build library and university before more knights. Our troops are strong enough, and we want all the science implying also money we can get for hurrying improvements and upgrading units. (More science means lower slider while maintaining 4 turn research means more money.)
Grand Bricolage needs culture to get access to the fish. Before the aqueduct. We urgently need more tile improvement for Antilia and GB! And some tile shuffeling to get the combined optimum.
Mure should work the forest and not the mountain.
Chieftess Apr 13, 2004, 10:15 AM Ville du Buisson, IMHO, should use the floodplain tile that Grand Bricolage is using, so that VdB can use more forested tiles (it's all 0-shield grassland there!). Antilla and GB won't be of much use in the desert until rails come.
I've been trying to get boots to shape up with his worker management (he's building another forest in Bootsville for some reason! )...
Bootstoots Apr 15, 2004, 09:28 PM Sambhava has been added to this province as a result of the Russian war.
Bootstoots Apr 18, 2004, 06:32 PM Rubanovka, Exile, and Oldenburg are now part of this province.
tao Apr 20, 2004, 12:37 PM Governor, please see this thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85577) for arguments why we should strengthen our infrastructure, especially research and commerce. The war with Babylon is over. We cannot attack India for 9 turns because we have a ROP, our railroad network is under construction and we most likely will not go to war in the immediate future.
Please look at all your cities on whether to build libraries and/or markets now. Remember: we have lots of luxuries and thus temples are rarely needed. Markets bring more happiness plus money. Libraries bring more culture plus research strength.
Than you for your kind consideration of these point, while you devise your next turnchat instructions.
Your fellow governor
tao
Chieftess Apr 20, 2004, 02:03 PM Temples, though, bring culture, and would be good in border cities so that they don't flip.

none of Sérliënorë's cities is a border city

Chieftess Apr 20, 2004, 02:57 PM It's gonna take me awhile to learn all of the names without having to look at the save all the time. :)
Chieftess Apr 21, 2004, 11:42 PM Governor, please consider building a settler in the following city:
Grand Bricolage - 2 turns to completion if switched now.
There's some city spots we need to settle here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=1768726#post1768726).
calinator Apr 25, 2004, 03:32 AM Governor:
Please consider giving up the flood plain in Grand Bricolage thus allowing Ville de Boisson to use it. By doing this, Ville de Boisson can have faster growth and a higher shield potential since most of its tiles are forested and it needs food to support them. There is a fish resource within Grand Bricolage's radius, so you will not lose your primary food source. Thank you for your time.
Chieftess Apr 26, 2004, 07:08 AM Ville de Buisson could actually use a desert tile that Grand Bricolage is using.
Anyway, please consider the following build queue for Groton (turns in parenthesis):
Hoover (10), Coal Plant (2), Military Academy (~4).
There's also the Wall Street, and a bank that can be built afterwards, and then armies every 4 turns.
