When a building has a prerequisite building (or Government for that matter)

What happens when the prerequisite building in question is
sold/replaced by another power plant/destroyed in city capture or bombardment/rendered obsolete?
or the prerequisite government changes?

Since I know Hoover Dam Hydro Plants don't do anything until the factory is built, but how does that work with other situations? (ie Temple of Artemis Temples.. what happens to their Cathedrals when it goes obsolete)

Also are Negative culture buildings still possible in Conquests, and do they automatically get destroyed like Positive culture improvements do on city capture?

At least in vanilla if you changed the govt the building vanished. I used this w my concentration camp building. The camp required Fascism, and when I changed to other govt the camp vanished. When I changed back to fascism the camp reappeared.

Thanks, that's not quite what I was hoping for but it sounds like it should work.

I'm trying to get some buildings that act as additional government effects.. in particular a few that make it even more difficult to transition to a 'mind control type' government than just forced relocation... if you change to that government you wouldn't get the benefits of unending happiness until you've rebuilt all those buildings... by making it many buildings then a small city could build them to keep up with its growth, but a large city couldn't build any more than one per turn.

I was basically wondering if I could have a series of buildings that eliminate each other ie 'power plant flag' but require each other (ie like having a Nuclear plant require a Hydro Plant, which would require a Coal Plant... each new one when built would eliminate its predecessor.. the question is whether the end one would then still be active.. probably not.. or if the 'Nuclear plant' could even be built once the 'Hydro plant' no longer had its requiring 'Coal Plant')
