Hello

With some friends, we plan to play a "common" game.

On our theory , all would be like this
One of us will create a save of the beginning of his game , then send it to the others , so we can play the exact same game with the same world/AI civ setup.

Then , for our fun , we will make some situation reports so we can compare how each of us dealt with the game events.

But , there is a big "oops" when reality hurt theory : one has Civ3: Conquest, another has Civ3:PTW and one has "vanilla" Civ 3 .

So my question : is our common game possible despite that ?
And if it is possible, how to make sure the original save will be compatible with everyone ?.

thanks for any hints and answers.

You could simply play the 'Game Of The Month' (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=49), where about a hundred people do this every month... ;)

In answer to your question: The player with conquest will have Civ3 installed, as will the PTW player, because both are expansion packs that require Civ3 to install. Therefore, play in Civ3.

The rule set in conquests is sufficiently differenet fro teh other two to make comparisons between games fairly meaningless. PTW also differs somewhat from Civ3 for an unmodded game, so there would be differences between Civ3 and PTW (The GOTM has PTW & Civ3 players playing the same game, due to minor rules tweaks).

Your other option is to create a world in the Civ3 editor (a BIC file), and import it into PTW and Conquests editors to set up the map in the respective formats. :)

But just come play the Game Of The Month ;)
