OK, got a modpack that I'd like to use. (Specifically, I want to try the BBW modpack.) What I need to know is:

a) How do I do that? That is, where do I unpack it, how do I start it, etc.?

b) How do I UNdo that? If I decide that I don't like the mod, or just want to play 'regular' C3C, can I easily switch back? What do I need to backup, if anything?

You should post in the file thread where you downloded the file, so the creator can answer your questions. :)

Most modders include a ReadMe file in the zip with install instructions, so definitely check it out first if your file has one.

For most C3C scenarios and modpacks, you need to unpack the file to C3C's scenario folder (ex. on my computer the folder is located at C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios). There should be a .BIQ file and a folder (usually with the same name). To run the modpack or scenario you just click on "Civ-Centent" on C3C main menu and select the scenario/mod to play.

If you don't want the mod, you can simply delete the BIQ file and the folder.

I thought about that, but what I was really looking for was a general idea of how to do this. So I would be more confident that the info I got was applicable 'across the board' to modpacks in general, rather than just that particular one.
