Hi Everybody,

This is my first story here. I will try and update it as much as my time will allow me to.

I am a regent to monarch level player (Thanks Sir Bugsy and Gengis Khan) and I am always looking to improve my game, if at anytime you wish to offer help or critisism then go ahead, it will be greatly appreciated.

The game settings are as follows:

Version: Conquests 1.15b

Map Settings:

Huge, Warm, Wet, 5 billion year old Pangea, with 60% Water (think thats right, the setting with the least water)

Difficulty: Monarch.

Civ: The Ottomans.

The Start:

The 4000BC Save (http://http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads7/My_Story_4000AD.SAV)

(ignore the ad part that was me being half asleep :crazyeye: )

Turn 0 4000 BC:

Move the worker SW onto the Bonus grassland tile and then settle Istanbul on the spot, set it to build a warrior.

Set research to Alphabet at max, due in 50 turns.

Turn 1 3950 BC:

Set my worker to build a road, to generate commerce on the Bonus Grassland tile.

Turn 2 3900 BC:

Use this turn to check F10 to see who my opponents are, they are as follows:

http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads7/My_Opponents.JPG

Looks like this could be intresting.

Turn 3 3850 BC:

Worker Finishes road, Builds mine to enhance the shield production of the tile.

Turn 4 3800 BC:

Turn 5 3750 BC:

Our first Warrior unit is completed, another is ordered.

Move warrior to the SW, looks like most of our opponents should be down this way as we are in the NW corner of the map.

It also puts the warrior on a hill so more terrain will be revealed.

Turn 6 3700 BC:

Our Warrior continues to move SW.

Turn 7 3650 BC:

Worker moves SW to another BG tile.

Warrior SW

Turn 8 3600 BC:

Istanbul: Warrior -> Warrior (this time to provide a military police unit for the city).

Warrior continues SW heading to Mountain.
Worker builds road.

New Warrior moves N.

Turn 9 3550 BC:

Move Southern Warrior onto mountain and Northern Warrior onto hill.

Turn 10 3500 BC:

Istanbul's Borders expand.

Worker begins mine.

Northern Warrior continues North.

Southern Warrior moves E to next mountain.

Oh, a bit of advise then I'll shut up & leave you alone. When using printshop for screenies, shink the new blank screen down to nothing first ie so it's 99% grey with just a white tiny box in the corner.

That way when you paste your copied screen into it the white field will expand to fit it exactly, so their won't be that ugly white overhang.

I'll shut up now & leave you to your story.;)

Question:
The cattle tile is the most powerful tile around, so why didn't you irrigate and road it?

The cattle is being roaded and irrigated as I type this now :)

I'm not sure why but i always go for the BGs first, probably because i'm still trying to get used to keeping an eye on the happiness of my cities, and I didn't want the city to riot (keep making that mistake).

Thanks Darkness, your input is appreciated. :D

I just need to work out where my first settler is going now.

Fairly sweet start spot. Good luck.

No 4 turn settler factory opportunity. Of course if you had selected an agricultural Civ it would have been easy to set one up. You obviously want more of a challenge.

The cow is the best square in the game. Your worker should irrigate this first, before the other squares. I suppose you should build a granary, but it isn't as clear as if you had a food surplus of 5. If you do build a granary, a city to the NE could share the cow square which would avoid food wastage.

Well I was thinking you may have your own island but then I looked at settings. Be prepared to babysit a lot of cities. It will be a while before the map fills up so get 2 towns making settlers if you can and a couple worker farms. You'll be so far a head when the land grab is over you'll be able to call your own shots as to what victory condition you want.

A few thoughts

1) You don't have to post the full screen shot if you only want to show one part of it. Cut the relevant parts from your graphic program so you end up with a smaller picture

2) Turn by Turn logs tends to get a bit mundane after awhile, most people don't do it because of this. One poster who did well by doing something similar, at least for parts of his story was steviejay's Spanish Empire stories because he spiced the important turns with lots and lots of commentary on his feelings, battle strategies and plans for the future.

Commentaries on your thoughts, or fictional character's thoughts that describes the mood at that point in the game is always preferred to a dry telling.

I'll be looking forward to reading more of this story.
