I'm writing a paper on the Rise and Fall of the Chinese Empire, from Shang to Qing. Why they accomplished at the height of their power, and why they fell.

I think you can write a whole series on encyclopedias on the rise and fall of the dynasties fr the Shang to the Qing.

I'd advise you to be more specific, maybe focusing on a certain dynasty. ;)

I agree with XIII. From the Shang to the Qing, that's more than 2000 years worth of history! How many pages will your paper be? :D

The guy just wants a basic summary of the achievements of Chinese civilization; a good answer would take a lot of skill, so you guys might as well help him ;)

Don't think it should be titled a rise and fall of an empire that lasted for about 4,000 years...since there were many rises and falls and divided kingdoms in between. Such a paper on everything from the Shang (or even the Xia, if it exists) to the Qing would be tens of thousands of pages long.

If it has to be on China during it's dynastic cycles, perhaps there is something more specific? Or is it just dealing with how the dynasties began and how it came to an end in 1911 (Qing)?
