Space images taken by NASA reveal a mysterious ancient bridge in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka. The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam's Bridge is made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long.
SeleucusNicator May 07, 2004, 08:52 PM Allow me to quote the following from an article on that same site:
Prabhupada started his discourse. He said that Nehru was re-born almost immediately after his death, a thing that happens only to the most sinful people. He did not even have a short-lived taste of heaven before he was born again. What was worse, is that Nehru was born this time in the form of a dog. He was a dog in a small town of Sweden. His master had another dog before the dog-Nehru was acquired by him and so the dog-Nehru had to share the love of his master with another dog.
I hope you don't mind me asking for another source on this...
silver 2039 May 07, 2004, 09:20 PM According to Hindu mythology the Bridge was built by Lord Rama on his way to Sri Lanka with his army to rescue his wife Sitia for the deamon Ravana.

Look at this site. This is an official NASA site. There are many photos of the bridge on this site, but you have to be patient to look for them.

Xen May 11, 2004, 07:58 PM perhaps ramas bridge refers to an anciet corssing that has long since vanished- after all, if the egyptians can leave a rather clear record on dynastic lines, and soem of the more significant heppening from 4,000 years ago, I see little reason why somthing liek that, particuraley if it were to gradually dissapere being recalled in myth and legend
allhailIndia May 12, 2004, 03:28 AM Rama, when he wanted to invade Lanka to get Sita back from Ravana's clutches, had to think of a way to cross the intervening sea. He performed penance to Varuna, the lord of the oceans, who gave him the solution. Varuna agreed to support the weight of a bridge which would connect the mainland to the Island. Thus, the huge army of the Vanaras, under the direction of the skillful architect Jaambumali, started the construction of the bridge, which consisted of a great number of boulders and logs, placed in a chain, all the way to the northernmost tip of Lanka. It is said that on each boulder and log, the Vanaras would lovingly write the name of Rama so that it is held up by the ocean. Thus the entire might of the Vanara Army led by Rama and Lakshmana and the Vanara cheiftains, Sugreeva, Hanuman and Jaambu, walked across the ocean to wage war on Ravana.
This is the story according to the Ramayana, the longest poem in the world, made up of over 3,000,000 verses. The Southernmost tip of India, Rameswaram, is connected to some of the Island's of Adam's Bridge through an actual bridge, but there is no actual roadway as such to the island of Sri Lanka.
Still, it will be very intriguing to find out if there was an actual invasion of Lanka with this method.;)
Kshatriya May 15, 2004, 10:15 AM While I do believe the Ramayana occurred, its hard to tell if that bridge is manmade or natural. It looks very even, with a distinct pattern, but then again, nature has produced some amazing things ;)
