View Full Version : Who is going to Portugal?
Stapel May 26, 2004, 08:26 AM I have 4 tickets now!
NL - Czech republic
NL - Estonia/Letland/Lithuania
1/4 final, if we will be 1st in stage
1/2 final, if we will be 2nd in stage and then win the 1/4 final.
This means I have to sell one ticket at least.
More people at CFC going to Portugal?
Darkness May 26, 2004, 08:33 AM More people at CFC going to Portugal?
No, was there last year! :)
Methinks you'll have to sell two tickets, 'cause IMHO the Dutch will not move past the group stage.
The czechs are better than we are and the Germans tend to beat us when it really matters (Euro '88 being the only exception)....
a space oddity May 26, 2004, 08:40 AM Typical Dutch to not believe your own side is going to do well.... ;)
By the same logic, I totally agree. :crazyeye: Slightly jealous all the same, Stapel, enjoy yourself! :king:
MrPresident May 26, 2004, 08:50 AM Apparently the England is taking the most amount of fans to Euro 2004. Unfortunately I am not one of them. You have to be an England member to even have a chance of getting tickets, which I am not, also having some money would help. I guess I'll have to stay home and watch the riots from the comfort of my armchair.

So far, I did buy the tickets in slightly dubious ways.....
@Darkness:
I have seen the Czechs play us 2 times, and both times I was not impressed at all. Why is it that so many people refuse to see the Czechs were very lucky twice?
Shabbaman May 26, 2004, 03:30 PM Yeah, we won pretty convincing at the euro 2000, didn't we?

What's an England member?
Dell19 May 26, 2004, 03:38 PM Be a member of the FA or whatever the offical ticket organisation is actually called. So you have to buy tickets from them although I'm sure there are other ways...
willemvanoranje May 26, 2004, 03:54 PM Yeah, we won pretty convincing at the euro 2000, didn't we?
we didn't do bad... there's always 3-4 countries ready to win, so there will always be 3 dissapointed nations.
Shabbaman May 26, 2004, 04:05 PM Plus England :p
Dell19 May 26, 2004, 04:12 PM Its not as if we expect much...
MrPresident May 26, 2004, 04:36 PM What's an England member?
Pretty much what Dell said. If you are a member then England tickets are offered to you before they go on general sale. And because tickets are usually sold out before they reach general sale being an England member is the only way to get England tickets. If there are an extremely limited number of tickets available, i.e. an important away match, then priority is given within the England members to those who have previously been to England matches. It's all a means of the FA getting more money out of the England fan.
Hitro May 26, 2004, 04:40 PM Sounds great...
So why aren't you a member?
MrPresident May 26, 2004, 04:52 PM Money. (ten characters)

I've also seen those games on TV, and I came away quite impressed. They play very solid team football (which is a concept quite a few of the Dutch players still need to learn) and have some great players who can really make a difference (Nedved, Koller, Barros).
Granted, the Dutch also have some great difference makers (van Nistelrooij, Makaay), but Advocaat will probably mess up and play Kluivert.
I really hope we'll go far at Euro 2004, but I just don't see it happening... :(
Shabbaman May 27, 2004, 03:26 AM As long as we beat Germany it's fine with me.
Adler17 May 27, 2004, 06:31 AM Shabbaman, you dream. Stapel, unfortuanetly IŽm not going to Portugal. But to see you loosing at TV will be good enough :D.
