This is my first time posting here. I could use some technical assistance. I created a modified scenario, now I am getting crashes every 3 or 4 turns. The error message says: civilization 3 has performed an illegal operation, and it says there was something wrong in the exe file. Any suggestions?

http://www.tune-up.com/ use this free demo first to check out your system. It will then tell you what you need. Run all the programs. (normally that type of error means that some units or command have typos in them and the program cant execute them, but it could be a computer system error also.)

Here is the actual error message before the game crashes and returns me to the desk top. Any suggestions?

I don't think that's been caused by any amendments in the editor....if I were you I'd re-install Civ 3.

If you make some not working changes in the editor, or especially the text files, the game could crash without a reason. Happened to me too. I'd suggest you first test it with an unmodded biq file (or bic/bix for Civ/PTW). If it still crashes you should re-install Civ, if not it's most lilely a problem with your changes. In that case, you should tell us what you changed, so that we can help you.

Thanks, I did make some changes. Do I need to totally uninstall civ 3 and then reinstall the game? I think I probably messed something up, not sure what. The feedback has been helpful, thanks.

You might not need to, but it might work out as the fastest solution, rather than trying to find out what went wrong.
