This is just an attempt to see if we actually have some interest in a CFC multi-team DG to run parallel with DG5.

If you are interested, post so here, and also state how much you would participate in such game (ex. lurker/intermediate/lots).

I would participate in a multi-team demogame. My participation level is throttled by work, but if there weren't so many things going on in RL I'd be slightly more active in a competitive situation of some kind than I would be in another generation of let's whack the AIs.

It'll most likely be a PBEM. The game itself will just be a PBEM game played by different teams.

Well that's 10, half of the required 20 we should have in order to start. I think it is about time to start campaigning for this outside this forum, in the PBEM/Strat/GD/etc forums here. Then we can start team formation. :D

That was my plan. I was going to wander around some forums here, the Civ3Duel Zone, and maybe even Apolyton, to do some recruiting. I'm going to be absent for about a week starting tomorrow, so I'll start my recruting projects next week.

20 players would be 4 teams of 5. That's really the bare minimum you need to run a game like this.

Epimetheus, the fundamental structure of the game prevents of from using vanilla. It needs to be a PBEM set up, for which vanilla is not eqiuped. You'd still be welcome to participate, as your insights need not necessarily be with the use of the save. :)

And, if we do get a little bit more core DG support, I'll start my effort to go out into other forums for recruitment.

Dammit, I figured you meant you have a bunch of different Demogames, competing to see who does best or something.

Maybe I should get PTW. It actually makes up for Vanilla's lacking by adding useful civs, unlike Conquests, which seems to add useless redundant ones (excluding the Dutch, though they didn't seem very well handeled.). :p

If you buy C3C, you'll get both PTW and it in the same and won't anymore ever have the problem of incompatibility. :p

But I'd also get the Sumerians. And I don't want the Sumerians. If I did, I'd rename the Babylonians that. :p

Ideally to get a forum (or multiple forums) approved (and we would be better off with our own sub forums) we need to show that it will draw in more participation. Also we need enough total participation in the multi-team game to have several democracies, one for each team.

Another thought - where should we look for potential players?

How about a CFC mainpage announcement and one big one which would show in every forum?

I also listed the other two forums so we can get the attention of those who don't post regularly at CFC. The bigger the pool we target, the better.

I would join this game, on the condition it is free assembly and organization rights within each civ, a maximum and a minimum number of players, as well as the opportunity to write any constitution, also non-democratic, in line with real government changes throughout the game. Furthermore, there must be some clear rules on how to run this.

We could use the ones from the Second Inter-site demogame. :)

For multi player demogame, there really needs to be secrecy between the teams. What would be done about that? No point discussing about attacking City Y when that city's owners can just drop by, find out and transfer 3,000 Mech Inf by railroad into the city radius.

i thought thats why we had decided, we needed secret forums.

Good news! Thunderfall is considering forums for an inter-site demogame! What I need to know is how many teams there will be. Remember, he's "considering it", so if there's too many teams, he might not create it.

err so far theres 3. i wouldnt have thought there would be that many.

I thikn we shuold creat a game with 4 teams, that would be ideal for a tiny map. :)

CT, it isn't an inter-site DG, but a Multi-team DG. :p

But that's cool if TF is thinking about it. :)
