I just tried to turn my keyboard upside down. Then I shaked it, all kind of funny stuff came out of it. Most of it were food remains, however I also found some hair and some dust.

Now shake your keyboard and tell me what you find:D

Oh god no! A new life form might pop out.... I don't even want to THINK of what could be in my keyboard! :crazyeye:

I found that you're a weirdo :D

But to answer you question, not much. My keyboard has mostly gunky-looking fluff/dust deep inside.

All kindsa odd stuff fell out, looks like tiny tiny garbage and trash.

(Disclaimer: This is my keyboard at work)

I've heard somewhere that in keyboards, especially public used ones, more bacterias and other unhealthy stuff is than in most toilets. So don't eat and type ;)

Hey, that's better than what happened to me....

I used to work for a lab that did tests on blood, saliva and urine (you see where this is going?) and one day I was called out to change a VT420 keyboard. I picked up the old one, tested it, and replaced it. As I walked off back to my cubby, I tilted the keyboard 90 degrees to carry it easier, and got a handful of urine. :vomit: Thank god I had gloves on....

Ugggh:vomit:

Anyway, just shook mine, lots of dirt, food particles or alien life forms, and hair...:p

Thats not nice...

Did the keyboard actually still work or was that why it was being replaced?

It was being replaced because it didn't work. The labrats weren't always tech-savvy, and I can't tell you how many times I turned the monitor on, or plugged it back in. After drying out, it worked okay. Little sticky from the urine.... Those VT420 keyboards are like cockroaches - impossible to kill w/o drastic measures, and will probably survive us after the nuclear war.

I just replaced my keyboard after spilling some ilk on the old one... it didn't really work anymore.

This new one is worse, though, shouldn't have bought the cheapest I found...

Fairly new keyboard, and I usually only drink coffee by it, which I haven't spilled yet...

Who pees on a keyboard?

I found on the computer I own in my room, crumbs, dog hair, human hair, paper clips(?), and staples(?)

@funxus: Don't worry you will soon enough :p

I regularly drink cola/coffee while using my computer. I'm afraid that someday I may manage to spill my drinks on the keyboard (haven't done that yet.) ;)

As long as you are careful then you should be okay...

:wallbash: D'oh... I read it quickly and understood it as if you were the lab worker making tests on urine, saliva and blood, and that you were sent to make tests on the keyboard. Not a very logical interpretation though...

I've just been sued by a family of Keyboard Faeries for criminal damage against their home. :ack:

One time I shook the school keyboard and a bunch of popcorn and other crap came out. Not surprisingly since people often eat popcorn (my teacher makes it during lunch for us) while doing their work (we have some online chemistry tools).

Being that I upgrade people at work, I've seen my share of disgusting keyboards. I avoid turning them upside down as I don't even want to know, see, or smell what will fall out...they just go straight where they belong, in the garbage.

Nothing but crumbs in this one... Lots of crumbs... hmm... where'd those biscuits go? *heads for the cupboard*

My old keyboard decided to die on me (well, 2 years is good enough), so I decided to have some fun dismantling it (I am a packrat, ok?), and you would not believe what came out of it. Food, crumbs, dust, dirt hair, you name it. Really rather nasty. Now I have some silly "MultiMedia" keyboard wiuth a lot of unnescessary buttons. I much perferred my old one . . .

Crumbs, dust (alot), hair, alot of cat hair (One of my cats likes to lie down on TOP of my keyboard), some remains of chips, some really long pices of chips wich i have no idea how managed to get in there.

Some things are left best unknown IMO.
