10 Mb is the limit

it's actually very annoying, my free yahoo is now 100Mb and the ones I get with my own paid-for website are still 25Mb each

But Yahoo gives you yahoo briefcase and Geosities to store files in. Quite usefull.

In my three years as Yahoo Mail member (1-month for Yahoo Plus), the layout has changed three times. The first was an awful frames version - the second much better, non-frames - and this new one is a really weird and blue layout!

I rarely went close to the 4mb limit, except during football season and when my mom decided to email me picture stuff, which happens quite a bit now that I think about it...

Knowing M$. Never. 3MB of space for free. Never gone beyind 25% ever. I got an email from hotmail staff talking about MSN dial up offers :rolleyes:

that storgage limit increase really helps. before i was at around 74% of my maximum, which ment if anyone sent me a big e-mail that put me above 75% i got a big annoying thing at the top of the page. I cleaned it out and got it to 47%. now with the new storage limitm at 2% :love:

Nice I was almost at my limit and now its only at 3%! I can get even lazier with the spring cleaning now. Now I'm wating for Hotmail.

Actually all bulk mail and trash no longer counts towards your quota, which menas that unless you've turned SpamFilter off, you shouldn't be hitting the quota with just spam.

I don't really understand why you need 100mb of email space anyways. My free hotmail has alway been good enough for me, how can you possibly use up 100mb? :crazyeye:

If you play lots of PBEMs then having a larger limit would mean that I wouldn't have to delete emails as soon as I have downloaded the save.

I heard that people use it for PBEMs. I'm kinda pissed at all the extra space because I bought a Yahoo Mail Plus subscription because I was running out of the 6MB I had. The Plus subscription gave me 25MB of space. Now I have 2GB (way too much) when 100MB would have just suited me fine.

I heard on Tv yesterday that Hotmail is supposed to increase their limit. And that they were sometimes blocking gmail invites. Good ol M$ :rolleyes:

Evil M$. According to the show the e mails never even made it to peoples mailbox. They were blocked all together. I got mine however. :D

I never used all of my old 6MB limit. But if Yahoo wants to give me another

According to thinks on the site of the pages, Hotmail is supposted to upgrade to 250MB by fall.

I'm not at all surprised that this is happening. With bigger, cheaper disc drives, it only took one email provider doing this to make them all go this route. Thanks Google! I may not use Gmail, but I'm certainly getting bennies from what they're doing.

I would have thought that it would be based on small groups of people sharing music by email as otherwise everyone needs to know a lot of other email addresses. Doesn't answer the question of what the mail providers would do if it increased in popularity.
