Modders - What's your ship progression line like? It's always driven me crazy trying to figure out the best one.

In the GATTM it goes..

Galley->Caravel->Galleon->Transport->Armored Transport

Galleas->Frigate->Destroyer->Missile Destroyer

Steam Frigate->Cruiser->AEGIS Cruiser

Ironclad->Battleship->Battleship-Refit

Carrier->Supercarrier

I'm torn between trying to maintain some kind historical realism and just forgetting about it.

Keep it simple. The naval world is under-used in Civ3, you shouldn't make it more complex (sp?).
