Well, I can't decide whether this is just spam bait or not, but I can decide to move it to computer talk and let those nice fellows in there decide. :)

moved.

800x600 is just wrong! Especially on a 17" monitor.

I use 1280x1024. My last job, had a nice big 20" Monitor, and used 1600x1200...I miss that res. I could put a lot of stuff up on that.

I moved up too 1024x768 last year, and now things just look way to big on anything smaller. And this is on a 15" or 14" monitor too, can't remember which size it is exactly, but it's small.

1600x1200 @ 120Hz on this one
1152x864 @ 70Hz on the other one

I use 3200x1200 on my main computer - dual 19" CRTs kick butt. On the machine I am typing right now, its a 1024x768 15" LCD.

1024*768.
Higher res just makes the icons smaller.

By the way, I wouldn't call this thread spam, but the pole is.
It should have had many more resolution choices.
no one uses 640*480 these days.

Anyone else use 1152x864? And oh, refresh rate is only 85Hz because otherwise my monitor would blow up. ;)

I'm running 1024x768, naturally. On a 16" monitor, it's not bad.

1280x1024 on a 19" monitor. At work I think the monitor is 15" and it's set to 800x600 and I hate it. Everything is nice and spread out on higher resolutions. It's hard to get used to for a day or two though, but once you are...

1280x1024; you should gave us that choice instead of grandma's 640x480.

1024*768 on a 21". Anything higher makes everything unnaturally small.
