History is the present, it is the way we are, it is where we are going and it is forever.... I am Socrates, Leader of the Idealists (aka Greeks) and I must relate to you a story of our journey into building the greatest philosophical realm to ever be.
I, Socrates, Philosopher King of the Idealists founded our first city Plato in the year of our Reckoning 1PK (aka 4000 B.C.), Plato, named after my incredible student, was built within a valley of rich soil and hills surrounding it as if to say "we are to be your protectors". The Idealists explored sending our scout to search the realm; to our surprise the land was immense and full of many sources of luxury. Our Cities began to appear as we settled the land: Athens, Sparta, Thermopolya, Heraklea, etc... and still we found no end to the immense landscape before us. Our science advisor, Aristotle, dubbed the land; "the uneneding vastness" and we continued to build our great civilization, hopefull to find other grand peoples. Our scientists discovered and created many wonders: how to work Bronze, how to work Iron, the mysteries of ancestral burial, the mystical work of the stars, the way to build walls out of hardened sand, how to run our goverment in a more sharing way. (Aristotle called it "Monarchy", a nice name indeed).

Our cities grew, our people prospered. I admit that even Idealists need entertainment; so I sent Homer out to the cities in need to tell them stories and give them some relaxation and happiness. We built the Pyramids, the Oracle, the Hanging Gardens and the Forbidden Palace... we built our roads and cleared our forests and irrigated our fields. We mined our gold, our iron and even our newfound source called "saltpeter", to which Aristotle said we could create great weapons called "guns" that could destroy any enemies. We the Idealists had the world to ourselves it seemed, our own Utopia.
The years passsed and finally in our year 4100PK (100 ad) we came upon the great peoples called "the Americans". Their leader, Abraham Lincoln, wished to trade knowledge of our lands and knowledge of our sciences and we agreed, gaining a friend and someone else to talk with. The Idealists kept building and searching... We created the Great Library, the Great Wall and still we expanded until the great man Lincoln gave us contact with the Indian peoples; thier leader Mahatma Ghandi, was wise, noble and had much to offer...

Ghandi traded horses for our spices, maps for maps and gold for knowledge, I felt a kinship for this great man who should have been born an Idealist!
Aristotle said we could make great music, and so we built a Catherdral by our grand musician Bach. Aristotle siad we could build great houses of ideas and so we built the Observatory of CCopernicus and the College of Isaac Newton and even the workshop of the great inventor Da Vinci...
It is now our year 5880 (1880 ad) and we the Idealist face our first crisis; the barbaric Russians have declared a great war upon us, so Onward Knights and Swordsman! Onward Longbowman, Frigates and Musketman! Onward Idealist to eradicate those who dare try to harm the Utopia of the Idealists!!! Forward!
