View Full Version : FS-UN Sid Foresight Jul 11, 2004, 10:36 PM bah, deleting this...I am such a warmonger that I thought UN-SID would be the hardest. Yom Jul 12, 2004, 12:22 AM Wow. 10 people is a lot for an SG, but whatever floats your boat. I wouldn't say UN Sid is the hardest victory. A good prebuild can get you the UN which basically ensures your winning (the UN vote is very easily manipulated and can be won even after Rop rapes and broken deals). It definitely will be difficult to catch up to the AI before the Modern age and/or take the UN city though. Sounds like a repeat of "Scouting Sid" with the civ being Netherlands and a Huge map ;). Anyways, good luck. Not a sign-up, BTW. I'm in enough SGs as it is. Foresight Jul 12, 2004, 12:30 AM I a Civ won't vote for you if they are at war. Having high aggression means that most civs will have gone to war with you at some point unless you given into every demand. Aggie Jul 12, 2004, 04:03 AM I'm sorry that I can't join this one. I am in a lot of SG's atm and none of them is at the end... Matt_G Jul 12, 2004, 07:14 AM I'm curious...why do you want so many people? Greebley Jul 12, 2004, 08:06 AM Like Aggie I am already at my limit in games. This may not be the best time to start a civ game at the SID level. A lot of games have started at that difficulty recently, so I am thinking you may find it hard to find players at that skill level who still have an SG slot open, though I may also be wrong about that. I have to agree with previous comments. The UN vote can be manipulated. Just because you have been at war with some nation doesn't mean they won't vote for you provided you haven't done things like Raze their cities. Good luck though. Nad Jul 12, 2004, 08:54 AM I like your idea of trying to set up the hardest SG of all time, but this won't be it, for a number of reasons: 1) On harder difficulty levels, the bigger the map the easier the game (more broker possibilities, more chance of trailing civs, more divide and conquer). 2) UN victory is the easiest and cheesiest victory there is. 3) You've already said that you will restart until you get a super starting position (where's the challenge in that? ;) ) On top of that a huge map on Sid would take forever to play, and 10 players would be chaos to organize. So, I think it's a great idea for you to try to setup an incredibly difficult game  but you'll need to refine a number of things to make it really appealing :). |
