 I am creating a new mod, and I have installed about 30 new civ advances. I have directed them through Civilopedia, Pediacons, and large and small .pcx files. However, when I test the game the graphics for the new advances don't really work. The new advances do show up correctly as far as their text, but all but one new advance show a solid black box for the small and large icon. One advancement works just fine, but as far as I can tell, the resolution and size of the icons are the same. Can someone give me any suggestions?

I can suggest that you try and ask over in the creation forum. They probably got the answer for you.

Probably a palette issue. Though I'm sure somebody else here can give a better answer... you sure it's in the right format too?

You were exactly right on your analysis. I was using Photoshop and saving PCX files in RGB mode rather than Indexed.... All is better now... I will be able to finish my mod in peace.... or in pieces.... hahahahaha!!!!
THANKS AGAIN

I was having a similar problem, and I think it may have been because my PCX files weren't 256 colors.

If you're using Photoshop you should check out the tutorial I made for how to get the transparency correct, otherwise you might end up with purple blobs in the pic in-game. Link in sig.
